I purchased a property through Douglas Allen.
I found the sales team, especially Oscar and Lucy, very helpful and pleasant to deal with when you could get through to them / see them.
The office seemed under manned and there were quite a few occasions when my phone call would be diverted to an answering / out of hours team (even when calling during office hours) who could only take a message and email the sales team in Billericay.
On one occasion I wanted to pop in during my lunch break (1 - 2pm, week day) only to find the whole office was shut as all staff were on a training course.
The staff are knowledgeable and good at what they do but this lack of communication is both frustrating and annoying and not ideal during what is a stressful process

First time buying a house and everything went as smoothly as we could have asked for, Oscar personally met us at the property, gave us detailed information about the house and the surrounding area and was very helpful answering any questions we had.
Oscar also handled all the communication afterwards and has guided us onward to our next steps.
So all in all very grateful we used Douglas Allen for our estate agents.
