Gascoigne Halman sold our lovely first home in Marple Bridge within weeks of us moving to them, from another local agent. I dealt with Rebecca Henry, Louise Evans and James Coppock and they were all fantastic throughout the process. They are easy to get in touch with and responsive to queries. They have also dealt with a (now aborted) house purchase for my husband and I, and did everything they could to get it over the line for us - they really did go above and beyond. We were listed with a number of estate agents whilst looking to purchase a house in the Marple, Marple Bridge area. Whilst all of them were good, Gascoigne Halman were excellent at keeping in touch and finding out exactly what we were looking for. We have to give a mention to Louise for always being on the end of the phone and to Rebecca, who despite us looking at one house 3 times was always patient. Rebecca was also instrumental in us being able to complete on our purchase in a short period of time to tie in with the sale of our own house.
We would definitely recommend Gascoigne Halman to our friends and family.

Avoid - Worst estate agents I have ever dealt with. No human element just very black and white figures and facts. Failed to read emails properly regarding proposed move date on numerous occassions, including the application form, pressured to accept and accept offer and led to believe the property was ours and good to go. When it came to referencing, their agent Let Alliance uses old data against you despite having official documentation and referencing and doesnt take into account referencing from previous landlords, previous estate agents, recent credit information, affordability, bank statements. Because of something that happened 5 years ago your dream home is swiped away and you are left out of pocket.
Doesnt matter how you have rebuilt your life had a fantastic gleaming and glowing history for the last 5 years your application is denied without any resolution for 1 thing.
After speaking and arranging viewing with other estate agents and explaining whats happened thsy are just as shocked and appalled and cant believe how we have been treated, especially when seeing our references, bank statements, affordability, future affordability, credit reports and more.
Wouldnt touch this company with a barge pole.

Shocking service by Gascoigne Halman, if thinking on renting a property through them AVOID as you won't get your deposit back, after leaving the property haven't heard back from them and they are not willing to release the deposit.
Now I find myself looking for legal advice in order to get my deposit back, they try not to take responsibility even if you paid that deposit directly to their account.
Really poorly managed and really unfair for the tenants.
Will not be using them in the future and I don't recommend anyone to do it.

Had a fantastic experience and very quick and easy process with Mr Garland, if a property snaps up he’s more than willing to take you to similar properties with similar characteristics. I've been renting for over 10 years and dealt with many letting agents around Greater Manchester, none of whom come anywhere close to being as classy an experience as Gascoigne Halman (Marple Bridge) provide - particularly Regan is an outstanding agent who really went out of her way for us. She knew exactly the kind of properties that we would want to see, and all of them were a really high standard. She helped us find the perfect place to live very quickly. I can tell that this is a letting agent that will continue look after us, and I'm very glad we called them!

Regan met us at the first property which was great but a little far from the village and train station. She told us she might have another property that's nearer. She called the next day and we went to view, it was perfect. I felt she'd listened to our requirements and responded quickly. Great service from both Regan and Dan, we'd definitely recommend them.

It is rare to find a number of incompetent people in one place but Gascoigne Halman have succeeded. Perhaps it is down to their recruitment policy.
No knowledge of catchment areas or proper answers to basic questions when viewing a property. Then completely mislead us with statements that are later found to be completely false. Not to be trusted!!
Not sure who was worse GH or Julian Wadden but based on knowledge, professionalism and personality I would look towards Lawlers or Bridgfords whether buying or selling.

Have misled me on two property purchases. The first, 7 years ago, whereby dimensions for a living room were inflated, which led to an incorrect sofa being ordered. Then most recently with a property sold as two parking spaces when in fact that is debatable legally speaking. Strongly advise using Julian Wadden in Marple who were nothing short of brilliant.
