I had a very disappointing experience with this property agent. I was initially informed that I had successfully passed the referencing process, but shortly afterwards I was told that my application had been rejected without any explanation. Despite asking for clarification, no clear reason was provided, which felt unprofessional and lacking in transparency. In addition, the return of my holding deposit was not handled promptly. Overall, the communication and process were very frustrating, and I expected a much higher standard of service.

This has been an extremely disappointing and frustrating experience. The agent took a deposit from us and completed all document verification. We were clearly informed that we had successfully passed the referencing process. Based on this confirmation, we trusted them and moved forward.
However, after a few days, we were suddenly told that we had failed the referencing. This was very shocking and confusing. When we asked for the reason, they simply said it was “confidential” and refused to provide any explanation.
Taking a deposit, confirming that we passed, and then changing the decision without any transparency is completely unprofessional and unacceptable. It feels very misleading and dishonest. I would strongly advise others to be cautious before dealing with this agent.

We successfully completed the referencing process and were informed that it had passed. Our application was then forwarded to the landlord. However, the very next day, we were unexpectedly told that the referencing had failed, without any clear explanation or supporting details.
Furthermore, our holding deposit has not been returned, and no valid reason has been provided for retaining it. The lack of transparency and communication throughout this process has been extremely disappointing.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THESE AGENTS unless you want to keep having to play a chasing game. Me and my boyfriend enquired about a 1 bed house to rent in mitcham back in march, we viewed it and since then we have been going back and fourth about requesting for a second viewing (they havent gotten back to us about a second viewing). We’ve put an offer down and since then have been playing a chasing game, everytime we call about the property the agent we enquired (Shyvonne) with is always “never there”. They’ll then say that we will get a call back but we never do? It’s always us having to follow up with them about the property. It feels as if we’re “bothering” them at this point, when we shouldn’t have to feel like that right??. Today (29/4/2024) my boyfriend called to ask about whether they received our offer and an agent named james said that Shyvonne is still on the phone, so my boyfriend asked how long will the phone call take because he doesn't mind staying on hold, to which this man replied “how long is a piece of string”.
Im sorry but if you are going to speak to clients with attitude and be cocky then maybe this isn’t the right job for you…this field requires you to work with people and provide good customer service but unfortunately these people do not know what that is (please provide more training). For weeks these people have told us that we will get a call back or an update but they haven't even bothered to do so. In conclusion if you are a landlord or a tenant do not waste your time, money AND effort with people that are clearly careless about their job. And for the landlord who owns the 1 bed house in mitcham, you’d be better off renting out your house at another company cause these people are wasting your time and your money on agent fees. This house has been available for months and me and my boyfriend have been one of a few people that are interested and willing to rent out the property at asking price. It’s such a shame because the house does work out very well for me and my boyfriend, unfortunately we are not interested anymore.
(I hate giving out bad reviews and name dropping by the way, but i really just have to put out a warning because I'm genuinely shocked by the people that work in this branch. They are a very bad representation of your company and the way they treat and speak to people is absolutely disgusting)

So i’ve just been scrolling on zoopla and the 1 bedroom house in sycamore gardens is let now. The agent didn’t even call us back after we put an offer down, or gave us any sort of update whatsoever. Why is it when you private rent and pay good money they never want to do repairs only take the money out the rent up which we respond to and never miss a payment but when it come to getting repairs done no one seems to care even though it’s on the contract and the landlords are still allowed to get away with doing any repairs and one repair is very dangerous which is the patio doors which was hidden when we moved in obviously broken by the previous tenants. Which is a sharp break in the patio door threshold which we have to be careful and with a little one here can easy slice out feet open wonder if this it ever going to get fixed also a few other problems which still hasn’t been sorted.

We have recently purchased a house with goodfellows acting as the estate agent for the seller. We had Omar looking after us for the process.
From the day of viewings Omar had set us up with the house we wanted to see as well as a number of others he thought we would like. He clearly had looked at what our preferences were and even pushed a little outside of our area of choice based on what he determined we were looking for.
He absolutely nailed it and showed us a home that we would never have looked at. It was clear he knew we would fall in love with it and following the viewing we put in an offer.
Throughout all the viewings he was knowledgable of the area, the property and the current situation with the sellers. He as honest and pragmatic to our questions and didn’t just “tell us what we wanted to hear”
We managed to turn the sale around in about 7 weeks and Omar was responsive and proactive in requests to confirm documentation or actions outstanding.
The after sales service has also been exemplary with him following up a few small snagging issues quickly and engaging with the seller to facilitate answering any questions.
One of the most stressful things you can do in buying a house was eased incredibly by Omar and he absolutely showed Goodfellows to be a professional, friendly operation and I would happily take my business back there if and when we come to sell ourselves.

I bought a house with Goodfellows. Unlike other estate agents they never tried to push houses onto me that did not match my needs. Every house they showed was worth serious consideration. Once the buying process was underway they were constantly in touch, keeping me up to date with what the hold -ups were so that I never had to worry that the sellers were pulling out.
Later I decided to let the property out, and the tenant finding process was excellent. The tenants they found us were excellent at paying rent, even when their business was badly effected by Covid, until it was not possible for them anymore, at which point they gave notice and left of their own accord. Goodfellows promptly found replacement tenants, who have been with us for 3 years now, never to date being late with rent.
Our needs are best met by the "tenant find only" option, as our tenants have always bin punctual with rent, and the tradespeople that Goodfellows use are a little high end for us. However if you want the extra peace of mind you can go for the "rent collection" or "full management" options. Even at our level, Goodfellows are very active in keeping us up to date with what we need to be doing as regards the law, and dealing with all the paperwork when it is time to renew contracts.
Our main contact at Goodfellows was initially Nelson Samuel-Onyugo, who was extremely friendly and reassuring. Since then we have dealt with many members of the team who have all been extremely helpful and responsive. To name a few:

Never experienced this before. I called to enquire about a property on behalf of my parents who are downsizing their current property. I was speaking to Reece.
Everything was going well until I told them that we would be putting our property on the market next week.
I was told that they could only view once our property was on the market and we had offers. I had never heard of this restriction before and quite openly questioned it. I could understand if they wanted to verify and offer or were looking for a cash buyer but this was a new one to me.
I have been put off finding a property through this agent and would question ever using them to sell a property as their poor attitude is just uncalled for. It took many attempts to get a hold of them on the phone in the first place. Surely their management can see this, they only need to try ringing on a private number.

Had and am still having the worst experiance from Goodfellows Mitcham.
I called and arranged a viewing , they never turned up left me hanging for 45min-1hour in the heat and 7 months pregnant.
No one called me back to even assist or apologise
I called again this week to reconfirm another viewing still nothing. No email no calls nothing from them.
I wont be making the same mistake to turn up to a viewing without any formal confirmation.
Its worth reporting to Ombudsmen regarding their behaviour to clients.

Very friendly and smooth experience. My only issue is that when we went to collect the keys on Saturday no one was in the office, although it was listed as open on Google. I think it would help if it states "telephone branch before making your way here."

Sales team are very unprofessional.. they only give you viewing on properties they can’t sell to make up the numbers when they scheduled other viewings. I have kindly asked Jack for information to sell my property but clearly he is not even interested. Asked him twice after viewing two properties after which he ghosted on me on both occasions. They will NEVER call you back or are NEVER available when you call them. I clearly don’t understand how they work. It has not come to the point where I now skip all properties from Goodfellows! Would not recommend to deal with them or even want to entertain them or put any offer as I can imagine the trouble i will have to go through after reading other reviews. I am sorry for the seller who have their property on the market with Goodfellows and cannot seem to get any offers in. You will now understand why. Mainly because Goodfellows have little to no communications after any viewings or will call you back.

i don't know, somehow staff at this branch never calls back, even if you are calling them day after day to get a viewing in to see a property on sale. It happened now twice to me and I guess next time I see a property on sale by Goodfellows Mitcham I will just skip it.

Used Goodfellows when we had to move in a hurry after our landlord sold up. Gerald at the Mitcham branch has been fantastic, answered all our question and responded to all our nit picking emails quickly. In short he made the process as smooth as possible and got us into the property with minimal fuss!

Bought and sold a house with Goodfellows and they were excellent both times - they helped us find the house that was perfect for us first time round, emailing us weeks after we’d given up because something came up that the agent knew we’d love. Then selling they got things sorted really quickly for us and we’re very flexible when things changed and we needed to sell more quickly. We now leave outside London but wouldn’t hesitate to contact them if buying or selling in the area again.

Having now worked with Goodfellows, as their professional photographer for sometime now, I feel it’s a valuable asset for anyone contemplating the services of an Agent in Mitcham, as there is so much choice.
As a ex agent myself of 20 years, I know what makes an outstanding, good or bad agent. The team, especially Jamie & Jason are indeed outstanding agents and have impressed me so much that it made me want to post this review.
Therefore if you’re looking to sell your home in or around the Mitcham area, you will not find any better agent than Goodfellows, they not only work hard, they care as well and that to be honest is often not the case. They definitely under promise and over deliver.

Goodfellows Mitcham are fantastic!
I dealt with two agents predominantly, both were excellent. They managed to help me sell my house in a very turbulent market, working hard to ensure there were plenty of viewings. Their photographer was excellent and really made the house shine.
The agents followed up and put forward all the offers promptly and professionally, communicated well to me the client.
That aside the team in the office are lovely, you feel they're approachable and there to answer or help always. Their rate was very competitive as well. I would highly recommend you call them if selling in Mitcham.

I can’t say enough nice things about Jack and Jamie at Goodfellows Mitcham and the amazing, hard work they put in to selling my property in the midst of a tumultuous housing market (thanks Putin/Truss!). This was definitely the most stressful and drawn out property transaction I’ve ever been involved in, but Jack and Jamie’s tenacity and perseverance in the face of many twists, turns and exasperating hold ups (plus me constantly on their backs wanting updates) was a sight to behold.
They’re both super friendly, approachable, professional, and knowledgeable, and certainly went the extra mile to get this over the line- exactly what you want from an estate agent working on your behalf. Their commission isn’t the cheapest, but in this case I certainly got what I paid for- they were worth every penny. Cheers guys!

Very very poor service over all. We have had our family home on the market with them for over 7 months. Still not closed the sale. Even turned away other buyers from putting in any offers. Made mistakes on their website. Broken promises to the point where being out of contract with them we moved to another estate agents.

I cannot put into words how grateful I am to the Goodfellows Mitcham team for their support and outstanding service when I sold my flat earlier this year (2022).
I live in Australia and had been dealing remotely with another local agency who "managed" the rental of my flat for a decade. Around 3 years ago, I asked that other agency to sell it for me, and they were awful. I had 5 "aborted sales" which cost me a small fortune, and they couldn't have cared less.
So this year, desperate to finally be rid of this property, I contacted Jamie Ford from Goodfellows in Mitcham on line. From the very first message he was helpful, professional, sympathetic and pro-active. What a difference!
Jamie then put me in touch with his colleague, Jack O'Shea, and the very first offer they presented to me ended up being a completed sale just a few months later. They were a fantastic team who ensured the sale progressed efficiently and cost-effectively. They also put me in touch with their own conveyancer who handled everything for me online, so it was a breeze to exchange and settle from here in Australia.
The relief I felt to finally sell this flat after so many years - and after so many costly "aborted sales" because of the incompetence of the other local agency - was indescribable. I cannot recommend Jamie, Jack and Goodfellows more highly to any prospective clients. I will be forever grateful to them for all their hard work, expertise, and outstanding service.

Moving out they will do everything within their ability to extort as much money as they can out of your deposit. Shameful and immoral business, avoid at all costs.
