We worked with Goodfellows in Morden when selling our flat in the Willows Development (March 2024) and purchasing our family home on Glastonbury Road. Now that we’ve had time to settle in, I wanted to leave a proper review, because choosing the right estate agent truly makes all the difference.
After 13 years in a much-loved one-bedroom flat, it was a big step to sell and move on. As a family, we needed more space, a garden, and the right home for 3 people and frequent guests visits. The market wasn’t easy with interest rates rising, and time was against us, but Goodfellows made the process smoother, faster, and far less stressful than we could have imagined.
From the start, Tony Spinks was invaluable, guiding us through every step, being flexible and available to talk to. - One of his strengths is amazing negotiation skills, as he was negotiating firmly and fairly (for both buyer and seller!). - He ensured we achieved a strong/fair price on the sales, while also securing our new home at the right value. All of this treating All stakeholders involved with respect.
Later in the process, when some issues came up, such as delays with the managing agent of our flat, Tony and the team kept everything moving for us.
The whole office deserves credit - especially Jack & Jack, and the rest of the office team (including external collaborator - Paul Davison - Conveyancer at Premier Property Lawyers, which we choose to involve in the sale and purchase as our private conveyancer was just not fast and detailed enough for what we needed) whose professionalism, kindness, and local knowledge made us feel supported throughout. Compared with neighbours selling through other agents, our transaction was noticeably quicker and more efficient, despite a chain being involved.
Today, we are happily settled in our new home and still in touch with the lovely buyers of our old flat, which means a lot to us. Looking back, we couldn’t have asked for a better partner in such an important transition.
If you’re buying or selling in Morden, Lower Morden, Cheam, or Sutton, I can wholeheartedly recommend Goodfellows as your first choice of estate agent. They know the area inside out, work tirelessly for their clients, and genuinely care about matching people to the right homes.

My sister stayed in their property for almost 2 years and when it was time for her to move out , her security deposit became an issue, they started saying the person in charge of my deposit had left the company but they will look into it. it took almost two months before she had some part back , before she moved out the property was intact but after their checks they came back saying she damaged something, she didn’t know how they managed to create those pictures they sent to her , it was really heartbreaking and unbelievable after seeing those pictures and videos, her mistake was not making video of the property before she moved out.

I had a very positive experience with Tony Spinks and Jack Jenkins in the Morden branch and found them efficient, informative and exceptional communicators.
Although it took over a year to get my property to market, Tony kept in touch during this time with updates about the property market in the area as well as market value. He was very compassionate about my difficult situation and helped with making a clear plan on how to move forward at each stage. All estimations were spot on.

As with so many letting agents, whilst looking for a property you have to list your preferences and needs. The same occurred with Goodfellows when registering with them after calling about a property they had advertised meeting our specifications.
So why is it that we then received calls for properties well outside our desired needs. (Nearly £700 over our budget or completely the wrong areas) We gave clear maximum price, clear min and max rooms and very clear areas and locations. The first call I can somewhat get over, but the second its becoming an headache. This isn't just a Goodfellows issue, they are one of many.
When I explained this situation to the lady calling, she became very dismissive and ended up slamming the phone down on me. Not at all what you would expect from a "professional".
Given how easy it is to sell property at the moment (demand massively outweighing supply), letting agents really need to stop treating us all like a number. You're supposed to be selling to me. If only landlords knew what they were paying their fees for.

Throughout our three years we dealt with Lilian as our property manager. She was amazing! She provided an exceptionally high level of customer service and was always a phone call away and ready to help.
Our tenancy came to an end due to our landlord selling. During this difficult time, Sharmila and Lilian helped us as much as they could. Jack was the agent selling the property and he was really helpful and accommodating when it came to arranging viewings for prospective buyers.

Experience not very good on this occasion, They never answer the phones, when you leave a message they do not return your calls, but constantly send emails out for you to sign i was getting 3 of the same emails a day for days, until i signed without being able to speak to anyone. As i am a client of Goodfellows i do not feel that they acted in my best interest.

Sold a property thru Goodfellows as Executor of a Will. Once sale complete the Lettings department consistently and regularly phoned to gain business to let out the property sold. Explained the first few times their mistake but the calls simply don't stop. The insensitive Lettings Manager is determined to get me to somehow give permission to advertise deceased relative property. Would not trust Goodfellows with any property management if they can't get the basics right even when corrected. The female Lettings Manager would not accept any responsibility for their failure of calling me when told categorical not too, but also the crass response from the branch in relation to my past relative.

Tayler at the Morden branch is very helpful, sweet and responsive! We've looked at a lot of properties and had some negative experiences with other agents- they advertise for a good property, only for you to books a showing with them and learn that the one you want is no longer available, and show you a bunch of overpriced, poor condition houses.
Tayler and everyone at the Morden branch are, on the other hand, the most professional and helpful. She has smoothly coordinated our viewing, signing and the team continues to support us with the tasks post-move in. They are also great with facilitating our communications with the landlord. The quality of the property is fantastic and we can see ourselves making it our home for the next 3-5 years.

Goodfellows got the property live on their website and Rightmove very quickly and commenced viewing soon after. Within 10 days they found a delightful couple that wanted to move in within 2 weeks. Tony Spinks, Jack Miles and the team at Goodfellows went above and beyond to help our sale go through. At so many points during the past 6 months we were certain the entire thing would fall apart. When we describe to people what we’ve just been through, no one can actually believe it. Ridiculous decisions were made by certain people for no reason, that very nearly scuppered the entire thing. It genuinely felt like sabotage at some points. Throughout this entire hideous ordeal, Tony and Jack were always available, always courteous, friendly and helpful. And when it really looked like the end, they put enormous time and effort into saving the situation. We’ve certainly learnt some valuable lessons about how this process works, particularly when it comes to solicitors. If we hadn’t been represented by Goodfellows in this instance, I don’t think we would be three days away from completion at this point. When most of the people you are in contact during the sale of your house are cold, unhelpful or downright obstructive, it makes a huge difference having an agent who actually cares, who understands the enormous stress and emotional pressure of this process, and who really works hard for you. Honestly couldn’t recommend them enough.

Goodfellows have the right intentions and provide a good service, Jack who I dealt with throughout the whole purchasing process was informative and a big help.
The reason for 3 stars and not 5 is the Goodfellows appointed solicitors who the sellers had, were slow, incompetent and I believe the downfall of the sale overall as it had taken 5 months almost before even talks of exchanging. I recommend if you're buying/selling a property, source a well reviewed solicitor and appoint them and not the one the estate agent will try to provide.

Worst estate agent that I have ever liaised with. Before we decided to rent the flat they overpromised many thing such as: redecorating and fixing the wall full of mould. For 1 year they have been sending different people/companies to "fix" the problem - nothing happened. Closer to end of the contact they just said they want us to move out.

Referring to the wrongly placed for sale sign post earlier ,it was my company that incorrectly erected the sign by mistake (human error). Goodfellows informed us of our mistake to which we contacted our man responsible telling him to return and remove the sign asap. Within twenty minutes Goodfellows advised us that the board had been dum0ped at their office .
Unfortunately on the odd occasion a mistake can happen and I apologise to everyone involved.

Random and unrequested For Sale upright board appears on one's driveway. We call the office to ask for this to be removed - no reply to voicemail. Walk into office to raise the issue instead. The generic polyester suits blame the company that mounts the boards for the error, but do not bother to demand their subcontractor to remove the sign with urgency. Stating that they themselves will refuse to walk 4 min. and remove it, presumably from being lacking in the masculinity department. Poor public-facing service and another example in the low standards on the English high street. Your author delivered it back to them.

My flat was advertised by three estate agents. Goodfellows moved very fast and appointments were setup for more than 6 potential tenants in just two days. The viewing was carried out very professionally. After the selection of a suitable tenant the process of verification and references was completed smoothly and the tenants moved in well within the allocated time. Due to unexpected circumstances, I had to put my property on the market at the worst possible time (September 2022) when property prices were rapidly falling and interest rates rising. However, the team at Goodfellows Morden didn't despair and did their utmost in marketing it and getting it viewed. I received one offer which I accepted but the buyer pulled out and the same thing happened again and again whilst mortgages were very difficult to get. Happily though, the sale of my house has now been completed. Thanks go to Tony and Jack M but especially to Jack J who managed to agree a decent price and saw the whole sale through to the end. Highly recommended.

Goodfellows at Morden are amazing, l can't rate them highly enough. Jack Miles and Jack Jenkins were outstanding, they are both professional, extremely knowledgeable but most importantly when selling a house, always contactable.
We had a rough ride selling our house due to the interest rates going up and had 6 potential buyers pull out. But thanks to Both Jacks hard work and tenacity we finally got the house sold at a good price and were able to fulfill our dream of moving to Devon.
Without Jack Miles positivity we would have given up, so we owe him alot.
I would highly recommend Goodfellows at Morden, you really can't go wrong if you use their service.

And it is such a beautiful place too! So much greener, and quieter than being in Central London, and much more affordable! Since we moved we have had even more questions and issues, we've felt like we've been overloading Emmanuel with them! Our Experience with Zahrah and Goodfellow's was good.
We were looking for the property before moving from Netherlands to London and was challenging to find Agency supporting us from abroad. Zahrah was kindly supporting us showing the finally selected house by a video call.
Point of improvement we suggest to Goodfellow is to better define to the client the "who is doing what". In fact during the process of moving/removal was sometime difficult to understand to who refer getting some delays in the required feedbacks/confirmations.

Very affable, but the only thing they were timely with was their contract at the beginning then invoice at the end. We had a straight forward sale so I guess Iwe wouldn't have minded, but anything vaguely more complicated would definitely have failed with them. The reason its 1* is becsuase they felt like they worked for our buyer and suddenly tried to pressure us to exchange and complete with 2 weeks notice, and then on moving day allowed buyer to send us all their white goods deliveries before exchange. Other than being unnecessary stress while we tried to pack, it was dodgy legally and they did nothing to rebut the buyer, left it to us to negotiate with buyer. So nice enough but pretty useless, have advised 2 other friends moving to not bother with goodfellows.
