We had a very bumpy ride with my purchase of a property, but with fantastic communication, professional expediency, coupled with a faith that it would eventually happen, we got there. Had to get to Saffron Walden for 8am from London, but due to a person on the line, what should have been an easy journey, turned into a nightmare. Eventually got to Saffron Walden and called Eloise. She very kindly, picked me up, took me to the flat, then took me to Audley End station. I am beyond grateful to Eloise for her kindness, generosity of spirit and expertise. It is the first time I am renting via Intercounty Saffron Walden and everything was great so far. Jade and her team made everything very smooth and easy. They have been very accommodating and supportive throughout the whole process starting from the viewing to signing the contract. They were very approachable and easy to talk to at all times. I feel very comfortable interacting with Jade as she is highly engaging. Also, the property I am renting is handed over in a very good condition. This might be one of the few agencies that also treats tenants well and with respect and that actually cares for the property (I had rather bad experiences with agencies as a tenant in the past). We went with Intercounty as Kerry Hill was an agent there and she sold us our house 6 years ago and I was so impressed by her.
As expected Kerry was fantastic! But, we were very pleasantly surprised by the incredible team in the office.
They actively SOLD the house, opposed to just letting it sit on the website. They were all very knowledgeable about my home when showing potential buyers and they were absolutely fantastic at keeping us up to date with what was going on.

What can I say?
We were looking for a rental with urgency. As our current "rental" was to be put into auction.
Jade, Eloise and Blake worked extremely hard. Organising a speedy viewing and meeting with the landlord. Within a few weeks we went from viewing the property to picking up the keys.
Someone was/is always there to sort out any questions we may have had and I honestly couldn't have asked for a better/quicker service. They are extremely polite and well mannered. Such a pleasure.

Kerry has been handling our house sale, and she has been absolutely fantastic! I'm looking for a flat for my son. We've been looking since before Christmas. We've sent Rightmove requests in for a few properties, and the responses from agents have been mixed - with some not even responding.
Intercounty responded automatically, which for a firm their size I'd expect. But then a human (Eloise) got involved, and everything just stepped up from computer efficient, to personal touch. We met her at the flat, she opened the door at EXACTLY the time we'd agreed (literally 15 seconds before), and very professionally showed us around.
4 hours later she has managed communications perfectly, has overseen our application, and confirmed that my son is getting his first solo flat. Could not have been smoother. Very happy.

Intercounty have recently sold my my rental property that they have managed for the last two years.
The rental side was handled superbly by Jo, meaning i didnt really have to think or deal with any faults or repairs that cropped up. Issues that did crop up were handled professionally and speedily by the team.
The sale side was similarly professionally handled by Andrew and Jordan. Firstly in finding a buyer and secondly in handling all conveyancing queries proficiently, including taking time out to visit the rental property to check out and solve the buyers requests. Having had other agents trying to sell our house when we met Andrew we were quite disgruntled with the whole thing. He listened to everything we said and everything we wanted from an estate agent. He arranged the photos which were really good and a lot better than any others. It was all agreed and put on the market on Wednesday. He said they were ‘getting on the phones’ and over the weekend we had 6 viewings and on Monday an offer, which was accepted on Tuesday. We had regular contact (one of the things we wanted!) and Andrew was really good fun to have involved in the process! Let’s just hope the rest of the process goes as smoothly.

She has been an absolute pleasure to deal with, and always had the answers to my questions, which was extremely reassuring.
The whole rental process was quick to sort out, and relatively painless. All documents were done online (including identity checks and proof of earnings) which made my life so much easier, and DocuSign was even mobile friendly, meaning it could be done quickly and easily, which was a bonus! Everything was sent via email so I could safely file anything away, and amendments were also updated and re-signed where needed, literally in the space of an hour, Jac was so 'on it'!
I cannot recommend them enough, especially compared to the other estate agents in Saffron Walden, intercounty definitely come out on top!!

I called to enquire about a property listed and Jac took my details to register us with them, although the property turned out not to be suitable as we have pets and they didn't accept pets. The following day Jac called me about a property they had just listed and had even asked if they would accept our pets before calling me. In the current climate when rental property is in high demand no other agent has called me about a property they think may suit our family. The demand is so high with great competition for houses that you have to to call them. Intercounty do an appalling job for their sellers. Firstly, after a whole load of enthusiasm at the start, empty promises and inane chat about how I'd have 'no problem' selling my modern family house in a booming sellers' market, they managed to organise just three viewings in a month. I then switched to another agent, who sold my house for the asking price in three days, before they'd even had to put it on Rightmove.
I also looked at a house on the market with Intercounty in January, was extremely interested, made an offer that wasn't much below the asking price, but was told the sellers wouldn't even consider my offer until I put my own house on the market (with Intercounty) - despite the fact I was a cash buyer (ie not dependent on my house selling). I can only assume Intercounty got greedy for two sets of commission, but ultimately, this greed cost them the sale: I decided I didn't want to market my house until I knew I had somewhere else to go. I see from Intercounty's website that that house is still on the market now, six months later.

Peter Cuffaro and the team were professional and friendly throughout, and nothing was to much trouble. We were given an honest valuation by Peter from the outset and achieved a very close to the asking price sale. All viewings were conducted within the guidelines of the restrictions in place but still in a friendly manner. We were at no point subjected to any hard sales pitch’s which would have put us of immediately and although we dealt with most members of the team at some point the helpfulness was apparent across the board. Recently completed on the sale of our property through Intercounty. After initially having three different agents value our home, we decided to give Intercounty a go. One local agent valued our home for significantly less than we sold it for, whilst Intercounty and one other both came in with a similar valuation. What really swayed us to use Intercounty, was Pete's enthusiasm and willingness to really get out there and push the property. Communication was timely throughout the process not just from Pete, but also from Claire, Abi and Charlotte (sorry if I've missed any others)! We lost our initial buyer, but Intercounty were quick to press on and get the house marketed again and had a new buyer lined up very quickly. All in all, we would thoroughly recommend the team here.

Okay, we're in the minority of negative reviews here, but... We rented Orchard Cottage in Ickleton for just shy of 5-years and Intercounty Saffron Walden acted as the 'middle' company we dealt with only at the start of the tenancy and then the end. Initially the set-up was fairly straightforward, they took their pretty big chunk of change for doing very little and we got on with moving in. However toward our moving out date 5-years later it came to light that our (the tenant’s) follow-up comments to the original, and quite poorly evidenced, check-in inventory had never been filed/saved, and they’re kinda' necessary to back-up any potential issues, especially when you have the type of landlord who’ll re-straighten used nails, circling for potential extra cash to pick up. Now to be fair, e-mails from the particular Intercounty employee we dealt with were answered reasonably quickly, yet every single one was just a simple 'I cannot comment' fob-off, and it's really hard to see why we even had to deal with Intercounty at the end of the tenancy. Anyway, the biggest gripe is, Intercounty (or rather this individual employee) filed the paperwork to return our initial deposit, which was 2-months worth of rent, but this was done with a deduction of 27% for 'alleged' rent arrears. Fact is though, with bank statement evidence we could prove we were not in any arrears, in fact we'd manage to over-pay rent slightly so were actually owed money by the mathematically challenged landlord. But Intercounty were not interested in this 'evidence' and merely took the landlord’s say-so without him supplying any evidence to back up his fictitious claim. So it’s interesting to note that Intercounty state 'If deductions are proposed we do understand this will not always be received well however there will always be supporting evidence in relation to this'. Erm, really? So where was the supporting evidence we were due? Intercounty, I shall repeat, just sided with the landlord based solely on his say-so without him providing ANY evidence, whereas we have full black and white financial statements showing exactly how much was paid and when, proving NO money was owed by the tenants at the end of the tenancy agreement. So now we're needlessly stuck in a 3-month wait for the remaining 27% of our deposit to be returned, which it will be as bank statements do not lie (unlike landlords) whilst our evidence is reviewed by a third-party. Yet with just an inkling of common sense and the brief time to look at our hard evidence Intercounty could've saved all parties the time and hassle now being incurred because, let's face it, the only side Intercounty are currently making money from is the landlord (and his many, many properties). And just for the record, the landlord (DAVID HUMAN) broke several of his contractual tenancy agreement obligations, which as another reviewer on Trustpilot pointed out - Intercounty let slide, plus he/the landlord/David Human allowed a large and structurally dangerous outside flint-stone building (barred from use for the final 18-months of our tenancy, without any rent reduction) situated in the properties garden to remain hazardously unstable and unfixed, even though it was pointed out that it was starting to crumble back in 2015, thus potentially putting the tenants at risk. Summary; if you’re a landlord Intercounty will look out for you. If you’re a renting tenant expect a meaningless smile with a smattering of incompetency. At least in our case. UPDATED EDIT, 14/07/2020: Finally, an independent enquiry has determined, we the tenants, were NOT in any rental arrears (as stated all along) and shall now, over 3-months later, receive back OUR initial deposit money in full. Thanks again for the needless time-wasting Intercounty; I guess it would have been some kind of issue to you had it been YOUR money....

We dealt with Joe, he could not have been more helpful! We rang to discuss a property on Wednesday, viewed on Friday and signed on Saturday. If you're renting be careful of hidden fees upon check out. They apparently don't like to put such fees in your actual contract. Also don't be fooled into then thinking you're paying for a service from them with that check out fee - you shouldn't expect to receive any communications in a timely manner.
