We were so happy with Jacobs Steel in Hove. From the start of our selling process, they were knowledgable, professional and well organised. Selling a family home is always going to be stressful, but they made the process as smooth as possible. We got timely feedback on our viewings and their thoroughness in researching potential buyers and their position was great. No time wasted with speculative viewings! Getting to completion was a lengthy process (further down the chain) but we were always kept informed and their approach of having a designated Sales Progressor was excellent. I've no doubt that getting this chain finally completed was down to this. Many thanks to Adam, Harry and the team in Hove and Richard for his thoroughness. I had asked 3 estate agents to value the flat and Adam from Jacobs Steel stood out as the most genuine and motivated agent to do the job. He did everything and more I could have asked of him, he not only arranged and facilitated all viewings, he also arranged for meetings with the residents association and spoke to the Management company on my behalf. If you are looking for an estate agent who’s best interest is the welfare of the their clients then I can’t recommend Jacob Steel enough. Myself and husband recently moved to a new house and were struggling to adapt to a new area (even though it’s only a ten minute drive from where we used to live). We kept going backwards and forwards about whether we wanted to stay. So we decided to get an evaluation with Jacob Steel with the idea we may put the house on the market. Adam couldn’t have been more informative and honest. He really liked our house and ended up reselling the house back to us! He spent a good amount of time sharing his knowledge regarding the market and the potential for a home like ours. He really knew his stuff about the local community and helped us to realise what a great position we are currently in. My Husband and I had a long discussion about our new found feelings for our lovely house and are incredibly grateful for Adams’s time and honesty, otherwise we may have made a very big mistake! I have moved house a number of times and resultantly dealt with many estate agents. My experience of them had been largely unremarkable and occasionally horrendous. It has therefore been a breath of fresh air and real pleasure working with Jacobs Steel (Hove Office) on the sale of my flat in Hove. In short, Adam, Harry, Richard and Lianna were all genuinely friendly, extremely enthusiatic in the marketing of the property, interested in my needs and very helpful at all times. As is the norm, I instructed three local firms to undertake a valuation and sale assessment of the property. One firm did not even respond and another gave me the impression selling my flat was a big hassle for them. In contrast, the Jacobs Steel team could not have been more enthusiatic about selling my flat (which is impressive given they sell lots of flats in Hove). They provided me with in depth market analysis to advise me on a reasonable sale price as well as when to place the propery on the market and how long they thought it would take to sell (which turned out to be correct). They also showed me similar properties that had sold locally and explained they already knew buyers who had missed out on other properties, who would be interested. For these reasons I instructed them, as opposed to looking for another agent. I'm really glad I did because after that point I really didn't have anything to do as they managed it all for me, just keeping me notified of developements. Within a few weeks they had sold the property at the priced we agreed beforehand. After the sale Richard dealt with the sale process to completion, again efficiently to the extent I did not have to worry about progress. There was one set back during the process but Adam quickly found a solution for the sale to proceed. All in all it was a very positive experience and I was very pleased. Given many estate agents in Brighton and Hove have become complacent and are resting on their laurels, I was impressed and pleased that Jacobs Steel proved to be an exception. They really give you a superb service when you need it. Highly recommended.... Read more

The newly(ish) opened branch of JS in Hove, were during the COVID 19 crisis, most professional at all times. Especially, the agents marketing of my property, and their viewing handling, (with PPE and etc). Although, it wasn't until Richard Wetherall (the Sales Progressor), came and joined the party - as without him the sale would not have been effected. The government had initiated a Stamp Duty period of reduced rates, and as my property did not fall into this category for my buyers, we all thought it would never get over the line, as the solicitors were keen to exploit this avenue of revenue moreso. He was diligent, persistent and tenacious - at all times when assisting me with solicitors and the concomitant chain in the sale and purchase that needed to be finalised before the end of November 2021. This was ultimately realised, just - the bottle of French red is on the way Richard. Thank you ever so much for all that you have done, 34 years was a long time in my property, without you and Jacobs Steel, I would probably have stayed there for another 34 years, much to the chagrin of my wife!... Estate Agents normally get a lot of stick, and sometimes this can be justified...but not with Jacobs Steel. Adam at the Portland Road branch sensed we were getting restless and were thinking about moving and continued to regularly check in on us, gently offering us options in the area. He found us a great house with development potential, and quickly organised the photographer for our house, and got us online almost immediately. A busy viewing day was organised, followed by a flood of great offers...The market is so hot at the moment, we were worried it would fall through, but with the help of his colleague Richard, who progressed the sale like a true pro, we quickly completed and exchanged before the SDLT deadline in record time.
