A quick update to my earlier review below, as I wanted to reflect the swift action taken by Maison Estates' Property Manager Absar in response to an electrical fault at one of our BTL properties. He very quickly had an electrician attend to fix the problem, which was appreciated by our tenants as well as ourselves. We remain very happy with Maison Estates' performance.
Maison Estates have been managing a flat for us for just over a year now, so it seems like a good time to post a review. We looked at a number of agencies before selecting ME, and we're very happy with the latter's performance. We live overseas, so it's critical we have an agent who can respond quickly and effectively to issues raised by tenants, and Sab has proved adept at doing this. Co-founder Sanjay is highly knowledgeable about the Coventry housing market and continues to provide excellent advice as we seek to acquire additional properties. His co-founder Ben ensures that the financial paperwork is faultless, which is invaluable come tax return time! Jay and Jessica have proved to be very effective in finding good tenants, and Gerte keeps the whole office running smoothly. We would strongly recommend ME to prospective landlords.

I’m giving this review from the depth of my heart. Even though I didn’t end up with any of the properties I viewed with Maison, I must say that my experience with them was EXCEPTIONAL. I worked specifically with Jay and he was an absolute delight to work with. You don’t get to meet realtors that are as honest, sincere, positive and optimistic as he is. Plus his communication skills were top notch. He also gave timely updates and was always on time for viewings.
Also the receptionists that always picked my calls (there were two of them I think) were always so friendly and courteous even with my constant calls. It meant a lot to me.
Honestly, big thumbs up to Maison Estates, I definitely hope to do business with the team someday soon.

Edit: Just an update after a decade or so of using their services that the service has continued to be excellent resulting in many long term lets due to happy tenants. With recent legislative changes confirmed for the Private Rental Sector, it is more important than ever to have responsible and professional estate agents helping to manage properties for both landlords and tenants.
My family has also recently had to deal with Probate and the entire team have been wonderful with providing any support that was required in handling the properties during the entire process. As always, great work and thank you!

I just moved to Coventry and I used this agency to find my first rental property. I want to especially thank Rebecca as she was my person of my contact from viewing the property to signing the papers. She is knowledgable and professional. Prompt with responses and a joy to work with. We had a small hick up with the keys but Jay was quick and professional and fixed that issue for us. We had some issues with the boiler and water - Jodie and jay came to the rescue. They were apologetic and quickly contacted their engineer Devinder. Even though, we had a few issues our first week, the team were proactive and fixed our issues the same day.

I had some issues with one of our properties that tenants were not looking after properly in my opinion so complained to Absar. He straight away got in touch with the tenant and asked him to clean the property properly and generally take care of a few things that I felt the tenant should be doing and not just expecting the landlord to pay out. We had the property totally repainted and cleaned before these tenants moved in and they have not looked after it. Jay called following a rental enquiry to update myself of the current status for the property that I had enquired about. Jay went through the requirements with myself and explained exactly what the landlord was looking for. Although unable to proceed with that particular property the offer of help was there may there be any other properties that come on the market.
Most estate agents don't even return your call if you don't meet criteria, so I feel that Jay actually went above and beyond to give me a courtesy call to explain the situation. 5STAR service !

I rented my first house in the UK in Oct. 2024 through Maison Estates, and my experience has been exemplary thus far. In a recent instance, I submitted a termination notice to vacate the property but subsequently had to revoke it at a very late stage due to a change in circumstances. Jay at Maison Estates was exceptionally helpful and kind in explaining the situation and securing approval for me to continue my stay, which otherwise would have posed significant difficulties in finding alternative accommodation. As other reviews have indicated, I too found Jay to be extremely patient, kind, and caring.
At no point did I feel that Maison Estates would exploit the situation for financial gain, despite the need to market the property and conduct viewings.
Additionally, my interactions with them regarding maintenance and other queries have been impeccable.
I am both happy and grateful for the support provided by Maison Estates.

We occupied a 1 bedroom flat with Maison estates for 2 years, it was the longest years of our life. Maison estates doesn’t do anything to fix problems within their house and expects you as a tenant to fix wear and tear in their own property. They don’t care about you as tenant nor your comfort in their property. We complained about heating and hot water throughout the whole 2 years but they decided to install a new boiler 2 months before the end of our tenancy. The property landlord don’t care about the tenants just like the agency that should protect your interest alongside the landlord, I will advice to run away from them.

If you ever consider working with them, be sure to carefully review the contract and get all unclear aspects, especially vague fee statements, in writing. When checking in, make sure to meticulously mark and note every issue or defect you find, as failing to do so might result in them taking advantage and withholding a significant portion of your deposit. I strongly advise against working with Lee Durno and Gerda based on my first encounter with them. My first encounter with Lee Durno and Gerda was when we went to collect the keys after paying a substantial amount in rent and deposit. However, upon stepping out of the door, Lee and Gerda insisted that we couldn't leave until we paid the remaining balance of just 10 pounds, which was due to an accounting error. It was a freezing January day, and my daughter was unwell. Despite having an Uber waiting for us, they caused a scene and stressed us out over such a small amount. It's worth noting that they refused to accept cash for this payment.
During the check-out process, Gerda attempted to overcharge us for various items such as redecoration (300 pounds really!?) and repairs for things that were already damaged when we checked in. I fought back, fortunately having documented everything meticulously, and won the deposit dispute. They were initially claiming around 1000 pounds, but I managed to reduce it to 359 pounds due to my comprehensive records.

The particulars were well presented and having left a message expressing a keen interest over a bank holiday weekend I was swiftly called by Jessica on the morning of the first business day and a viewing was arranged.
Some three weeks later referencing had been completed and we collected the keys. References were not entirely straightforward with my self employed status and my wife working for NHS. But we were well looked after and well guided through the whole process by Jay and Jessica. They made the whole thing much less stressful than it might have been and we were well looked after throughout.

The agent- Jay Patel was our guide to the house. He explained all details of the property during the viewing and was able to confirm that he had approved the application quickly. We had to wait for a month to enter the property, but we were made aware of this from start as the previous tenants were not moving until then. Other agencies would ask you to fill elaborated forms only to say that they couldn't accept the application. I started renting from Maison Estates in late 2021, and the process was incredibly streamlined. I viewed the property with Jay, who not only gave me a thorough description of the property, but also told me all the steps that would follow should I proceed with renting the property. Learning all of this information up front was not only incredibly helpful, but helped ease any worries I had about the application process. A special thanks to Gerda as well for being incredibly attentive during the move-in process and very helpful in answering questions I had about the property.
I have been in this CV1 property for around a year, and any issue that has popped up has been dealt with swiftly, special thanks to Lee for his property inspections and kindness through any issues I had.
Although I took out a 24 month contract, circumstances changed meaning I had to terminate my contract before it expired. I was very worried as I had never gone through a situation like this before, however Lee was very informative as well as compassionate, and broke down all the steps that would be taken. I was initially worried there would be some hostility, however I was only treated with the utmost respect and professionalism from all at Maison Estates, which took a massive weight off my shoulders.
To conclude, I have only had an incredibly positive experience with Maison Estates, and would highly recommend them to anyone looking to rent in and around the area. Although I have not had direct e-mail contact with all, I had the pleasure of meeting most of the team in their office and can attest to their kind, professional, and respectful manner towards myself.

I don’t recommend this agency at all! They deliberately look for defects in the house 2 weeks after moving out, which no one can do about, and they want to ask for an amount that can be used to renovate the entire room. I find it completely outrageous, since we lived in this house for years without any problems, we were always fair to the agency! I’m sure I won’t let this go without saying. I will tell everyone I know. I’m totally disappointed.

It’s been a lovely experience with Maison Estate from the viewing to actual letting. The made the process really easy and always there to help out. Thanks to Sanjay who has always been friendly and positive, and to Lee and Gerda for seeing through the whole process and quick response. So I had a leak in my kitchen and I had to call. I was a little persistent because it was a bank holiday and I was not sure I was going to get a response. To my greatest surprise I got a call saying the maintenance will be coming in few hour to fix it. It was less than 1 hour, I got a call from the maintenance guy saying he is in front of the property to fix the leak. I was very pleased.

If youre looking to let a property then dont bother coming here. Theyre a bunch of liars who dont know anything. Overvalued my property rental income, when I questioned it, they convinced me they were right so i went along. The next day, I receive a LIST of amendments to make to my property???? We stated we were ready to let but they did not understand that. They had the audacity to tell me to make more changes when I said I was ready. They over inflated the price and now expected me to make all these costly changes to meet their stupid unrealistic quote. No idea why I wasnt told this on the first visit??? They gave me a high price to attract me and gain customers, but once they had my keys they wanted to reduce the price. No wonder they were so desperate for me to sign their contract. I would have went with them even if the quote was lower so their plan didnt work! Some honesty would be nice. Now i know why its a small company

When we enquired about the house, Pat was out to show it to us that very afternoon and couldn’t do enough for us in terms of answering questions or tweaking things about the house we wanted done. Been renting a flat from this agency, we got the keys went inside and the flat was in a disgusting state. Clear evidence of it not being cleaned up after refurbishment in the bathroom and mouldy dishwasher tablet inside the dishwasher. Since then we've had issues with damp to which the response was to air out the property and keep the temperatures warm (DUH). Mould to the point it started moving onto our personal items. A tumble dryer that left burn marks on our clothes. Water underneath the flooring.
People working in the office do seem nice and polite but all issues have been reported and its taking multiple months to sort anything out. Completely unprofessional.

I can recommend Maison Estate us letting agent. They are very qualified and very helpful.
Pat was working over Christmas time when agency was closed, for make sure we can move in at the beginning of the year.
He was explaining everything about renting process from application to sign in contract and collect the key. We did collect key at Saturday and unfortunately, heating didn't work properly so he helps us and send gas engineer this same day. Good job Maison Estate team and especially you Pat. Remik with family

We found a property that was perfect for me and my family through Maison Estates after my old landlord decided to sell his property. After viewing the property we very quickly decided it was the right property for us. The transition and application process into this property was quick and pain-free. Our new kitchen had a refit which I believe Lee played a big part in making this happen within a quick timescale to ensure my family could live comfortably. I and my wife relocated to United Kingdom from Nigeria and in our quest to look for a house to rent we met Mr. Pat ( a staff of Maison Estate) and our struggle in looking for a house to rent ended the day we spoke with him. A very friendly and lovely gentleman. We got the house 24hours after providing the required documents and I am writing this review from our new rented house. Our relocation was made easy with the help of Maison Estate. We also met Gerda a lovely lady who handed the key to us and detailed us on everything about the house. I and my wife are happy with the services of Maison Estate.

Definitely would give no stars if possible because this letting agency is the worst!!! They are rip-offs and extort you for money. They make up random figures about the condition of how the house was left in order to get more money for their Incompetent agency, for example charging £500 for cutting grass and fixing minor wears and tears. Or lying about is losing keys when they were left in the property. As students or anyone, it’s absurd! The list can honestly go on, but THE WORST AGENCY EVERRR! AVOID AT ALL COST!

Ben and his team at maison estate agents are brilliant. I have had experience of them acting for me when I rented a property and now selling a property. Many of our properties are with maison estates and we really like Gerda and Ben , both helped to resolve any issues we have had and also the new guy on the phone has been very helpful even though he wasn't too sure what our issue was , he still got us through to where we needed to go.

I have been renting my place from Maison Estates for over 5 years now and I only had good experiences. I had a few issues and misshaps along the way like locking myself out or boilers/showers breaking. But anyone I spoke to at Maison's to resolve these issues, they have always been polite, very helpful and understanding in resolving the issues or in assisting me, and all has been resolved in a timely manner also.

We have used Maison Estates for 5 years as our preferred letting agent for our small portfolio of flats. The service has always been prompt and professional and they always choose tenants very carefully which has meant smooth running of the tenancy agreements. Excellent and friendly front-office team to work with and the recent addition of Louise has added some in-depth experience to enhance further the value of the lettings side of Maison's business. Overall definitely to be recommended.

Rude and inconsiderate employees. The referencing process was supposed to take 48 hours. Wasted my time for a week and then declined my application for the property. Refused to return my £240 deposit(which was supposed to go towards my first month's rent). Paperwork said they're obliged to refund it if my application is declined, but they never did. STAY AWAY.

Could give no stars if I could. The worst, most untrustworthy letting agents I have ever come across. We faced many unwarranted charges and fees, went to the ombudsman who ruled in our favour. Sanjay in particular had an attitude problem and went out of his way to make life difficult for us. Constant mould and drain problems which he tried to charge us for, leading to difficult conversations about which sanitary products my wife used. Avoid, for your own sake.

They don't really deserve any star. The worst agency in the whole of UK to rent a property from. No good customer service. Their policies are just on paper, but in reality the landlord orders them around. I have so much complains about this agent that if I start to outline every single one of them, I have more than a page. It is only their commission that matters to them.
