I have rented a flat through Marsh and Parsons for 10 years and have now sold it through them, completing yesterday. In both areas the Barnes office provided exceptional service. The rental department has found excellent tenants and I never had more than a month without rental income. The sales department has improved immeasurably since I tried briefly and unsuccessfully to sell the flat a couple of years ago. At that stage I would have given them 2* maximum. But this time they were great. I live 100 miles away and they really went the extra mile to do meter readings and check things in the flat for me. They helped with chasing up hard to finalise issues, again going far beyond what an agent might be expected to do and were unfailingly helpful. I cannot speak for the rest of M&P but unreservedly recommend the Barnes office for both letting and selling.

Dealing with this agent for a rental house in Barnes has been a nightmare, the house ( 164 Castelnau ) that we rented last year had 5K debt in Bills of gas and electricity from the landlord, we couldn’t have access to proper gas credit accounts during 6 months because the Landlord didn’t want to take responsibility of their debt and instead installed a top up system like in council houses, which was taken half of the money we put to pay the his debt, that was the first disappointment with this letting manager that has done nothing to solve the problem and let us deal with this on our own, when they were in charge of managing the property, on top of that the water of the house was contaminated with high levels of every kind of Bacteria, from e.coli to pseudomonas, nitrites, etc… is totally illegal to rent a house without potable water, The landlord never fix the problem whisnis changing the full water pipes system in the house and we had to use Solicitors to get out of this house, now after 3 weeks they don’t want to return our deposit, is draining to deal with agents like this… thanks Gosh now theres list of rough landlords and agents and soon they stop doing this kind of things to decent people

5 years renting with M&P. All started wrong with a wrong entry inventory and carpet bugs in the flat. The professionally cleaned flat was not decenltly clean. My landlady was very supportive, the agency didn't do a lot. At the end of the tenancy my case manager never answered the phone. I had to personally interact with my landlady even to have my deposit back..not sure what the agency was there for? I made an attempt to let them helping me in finding a new flat: complete faliure! They showed me flats in places where I said I didn't want to leave, missed appointments or appointments were cancelled at the last minute. Very disappointing and poor experience.

Rupert and Flora helped me so much both by finding me a gem of a flat in Barnes and helping me navigate the renting process remotely, as I’m based in New York. I’ve taken this flat as a corporate second flat to have as I’m building the london side of my business. It was complicated to set up as I was not able to be onsite but Rupert and Flora made the entire process easy and fluid. The flat is even more lovely than I expected it to be — I’m thrilled with it. I just wanted to give you some feedback on Chris. He did property viewings with me last Thursday, where we did five viewings. We did another 13 viewings with four more agents over the next two days (we have an urgent need to move).
Chris was by far and away the best agent we dealt with. He was thoroughly prepared, and knew the details of each property inside out. He was personable, and took real time to understand what I was looking for. When arranging a second viewing with him for one of the properties, he was quick, responsive and flexible. He was just a joy to work with!
Unfortunately, the property that we have decided to go for happens to be with another agent - but if I could have chosen anyone to rent through, it would be Chris. I spoke to him today to explain, and again, he's been professional, helpful in keeping options open, and just generally lovely.
In an industry where agents can have a bad name, I wish there were more like Chris. He was a superstar and I hope he gets the recognition for doing such a good job.

Christopher Lilly was my negotiator when I was looking for a new place to rent. He has a good line in chat and humour and I had made my mind up by the third property he had shown me. The negotiations went rather smoothly and as I was looking for a swift move, Chris went out of his way to make sure all parties were happy with all details of the tenants agreement and signed off as soon as was possible and with the minimum of fuss. Recommended as an individual negotiator and recommended as a company.

We highly recommend Samuel Bide for your real estate needs. We just sold a longstanding family home in Barnes and Sam was the only person we know who could have gotten the deal completed. We have dealt with several other estate agents in deals outside the UK and can say beyond a shadow of doubt that Sam is one of a kind. Not only does Sam know real estate and understand the market but almost more importantly he understands people and really knows how to accurately read a situation. A critical deal making skill, and you most assuredly will want Sam on your team. Sam’s character is also above reproach. Our UK deal did not initially go as expected as a result of a tenant issue. This did not seem to have an impact on Sam although it certainly did on us. His calm, hand holding, stay the course manner allayed our fears, and he managed to right the ship and get us right back to where we wanted to be and even better! Sam was always there at every twist and turn to provide guidance and counsel and to ensure that everything stayed on track and help with any obstacles. His advice and counsel was spot on and he never missed a call or never said “it is your decision I do not know what to do.” He seemed to have experience and knowledge for every question or problem that arose. There was never a need that was not met and never a time where we had to contact him repeatedly to get answers. Most deals end with you feeling happy the deal is done and you can move on with the rest of your life. While we were thrilled with how Sam got the deal done, we felt remorse that we would no longer be talking regularly to Sam. A strange feeling but one so true. We are now proud to call Sam a friend and don’t think of him as just an estate agent and have happily recommended him to friends and neighbors. Overall, Samuel Bide made us feel like we were his only client. We know that was not the case as he is one of the top agents in the area but that is how he made us feel.
