Martin & Co have managed my rental property for at least the past 15 years. Today was a sad day, having now sold my final rental house, to say goodbye to the guys there.<br>Exceptional service always, quick to respond to my queries, always sound advice when asked for and they are a friendly and happy team.<br>Nothing has ever been too much trouble for them. They have helped with some difficult situations over the years. They have managed the place faultlessly. We have had quite a few tenants over those years, all found by Martin & Co., never had a “ bad”tenant. They have also supported the tenants when it was necessary. They are professional and sympathetic.<br>Admin is run very smoothly, I have never had any problem with payments or missing invoices.<br>They really have gone above and beyond what I expected for a lettings agency and I have absolutely no problem recommending them. Special thanks to Mica who has come to my rescue on more than one occasion, finding out old meter readings or missing invoices I needed.<br>I actually do feel like I’m leaving a bit of my family behind today.<br>A massive thank you for the past 15+ years.

They perform quarterly checks on the property, and provide reasonable quotes for any works needing doing (compared to previous agents that are extortionate). I have been using the services of Martin & Co six years now. I have three units in Churchill Place, Basingstoke. Over the years, they managed my properties extremely well. They find tenants for my units fairly quickly, usually within a week. They handled all the repairs and maintenance to the satisfaction of the tenants. I must say no tenants have ever complained about their services and neither do I. Most of all, they are very responsive and handles matters very efficiently. A highly recommended lettings agent in Basingstoke.

Staff are really nice, friendly, and helpful, but don't sign up to the Tenant shop if they offer you the option to. When I signed up I was automatically enrolled with the Tenant shop who are meant to find you good deals on insurance and bills and stuff (i think they must have some kind of business deal with Martins) and they were awful. I found way better offers elsewhere and were kind of snarky when I said I wanted to figure it out on my own. But Martins themselves have always been fantastic and very kind. Without the Tenant shop it would be 5 stars.

Unfairly screwed by early termination fares and over 2 months of additional rent cause another tenant was not found - despite the building being a very popular place to rent.<br><br>Hope they will understand one day tenants are human beings and one may need to leave a property without it costing £2,400.

Rented through Martin & Co for 2 years with 3 monthly property reviews throughout. Never had a problem with a good review every time and no concerns highlighted. When it came to moving from the property in May 2023, suddenly this changed. Post vacating the property I was notified that £900 (of my £1600 deposit) was being withheld and that the ‘landlord’ was very upset at the state of the property?!?? On leaving I had all carpets professionally cleaned, the house cleaned professionally and, in my opinion, left it in a better state then when I moved in (I had the house cleaned before I moved in as it was grubby and very dusty). M & Co tried to charge me for having carpets cleaned again, for house cleaning, even £45 to have the bins emptied (I moved out on a Friday and bin collection was a Wednesday). After a long protracted period of time, I finally received my deposit back at the end of July. Be careful with these guys as they will do what they can to hold your deposit. I had charges added for removing items which were in the house when I moved in?!?? Very disappointing experience with them. Having rented for the best part of 10 years with various agents, I’ve never had a penny of deposit withheld, never had a complaint from an agent or landlord and never experienced such a blatant attempt to withhold funds unnecessarily. Thankfully I was able to retrieve my funds but for some they may rely on receiving this back in a timely manner. Would never use these guys again and would strongly recommend avoiding them at all costs.

0 * rating from me, angrily wasted £1200 in legal fees ( Would have rather donated this to a children's hospital at this time of year ) Agent neglected to inform me at the beginning that ground fees double every so few years plus on a red flood risk area, 5G Phone mast next to property possible health issues all this information would have been handy to begin with. Emails and calls were either unresponded to or cold. AVOID. Never again.
