Our property was on the market with a different Melton Mowbray based estate agent for several months in winter so decided to change agents in the spring. We chose Newton Fallowell because they had branches in Melton, Bingham and Grantham, so we thought that we would be marketed to a wider audience. The agent came round, reassured us that it would be marketed through all three offices and said that it should sell immediately.
Photographs were taken and the for sale board went up quickly but, after a week, we were not showing online and the social media video hadn’t been taken (apparently a speciality and crucial part of the NF marketing process). We had to ring up to have the listing put on Rightmove and the NF website. A date was arranged for the video but the agent failed to attend. We had to contact them several times for the video to be taken.
After a couple of weeks I attended the Bingham office to check whether they were marketing our property but was informed that each branch is a separate franchise and wouldn’t market other branches’ properties unless there was an agreement to share the commission. When confronted, the agent said that there must have been a misunderstanding about this (certainly not by us – we made it quite clear what we expected) although he did say that he would see what he could do.
A few days later the manager came round to take the social media video and we asked about marketing at different branches. He reassured us that although separate franchises, any customer registered with any branch will have details sent through centrally as long as the property was within their search area. After a couple of weeks our friends registered for our area at the Bingham branch and, surprise, surprise, nothing was sent though. I asked the agent about this the next time that I spoke to him and he said that nothing was sent centrally. Either the agent or his manager was not telling the truth.
As well as these issues, there were ongoing errors with our marketing details and photographs which took several attempts to get rectified. We did get one viewing through Newton Fallowell but strongly suspect that they were a ‘stooge’ set up by the agent due to length of time that they spent at the address with the agent – not enough time to go round the whole house (despite ‘loving’ the property).
The only thing in Newton Fallowell’s favour is that they don’t have a notice period so, after a month, we were able to leave and find a competent estate agent. Don’t waste your time selling through this agent – they are incompetent and less than honest!

An absolutely fantastic estate agents! Very friendly, very polite and very approachable! We had Andrea who is an absolute delight of an agent, she was 100% straight up with us regarding the bungalow we viewed, telling me and my wife about the land lady, the home itself, literally went through every fine detail and giving us reassurance and answer all questions. Andrea showed us around each part of the bungalow going through everything from where stop cocks are too what the rooms have been used for, wether pets have been in etc. After the viewing we were allowed to check around ourselves and decided to go for it.
Andrea sent us links and got the ball rolling for us, we sent what we needed in to her and literally within an hour work was as completed and we received emails for the next steps in the process. Due to Newton Fallowell and Andreas hard work we were reference checked, credit checked and detail checked within 2 days!
We viewed the bungalow Tuesday and received news on the Thursday that we had secured the property! Andrea and Newton Fallowell went above and beyond for us!
Even when we went to pick up the keys everyone in the office was so friendly and polite! We genuinely recommend Newton Fallowell 100% and Recommended Andrea 100%

Having recently raised a dispute through TDS due to not receiving my deposit back or hearing if there was any issues for over 19 days, I’m disgusted to get a call today to my partner advising that I had ‘verbally’ agree to knock £100 of the deposit. I can confirm I spoke with the lettings manager (Liz Easter) a week prior on the phone and DID NOT agree to this at all she advised I would receive an email where I’d be able to select yes or no to whether I agreed to this (still haven’t received the email). I find it disgusting that Liz lied to her team and I will still be continuing my dispute even more so now. Please feel free to listen to the call I had with Liz and you will be aware that she’s lying.

Having had a hostile tenant efficiently given proper notice with the help of Sara and all regulations as a landlord dealt with by the team for me ,we then went on to market the property. Received an offer very quickly and I can't praise Tom highly enough for all of his efforts. The solicitors on both sides were dragging their heels and I was very disappointed in their service but Tom effectively did a lot of their work for them , chasing both sides and conferring regularly with both myself and the purchaser. Great work and I highly recommend them.

Shocking agent in Melton, dont care about Tennents when things go wrong, don't have any after care, and all they want to do is argue with you when there is a problem. They have no communication skills and talk to you like something on the bottom of your shoe. Can't comment on the sales side of things, but apparently it's all run by the same people... avoid at all costs as you will lose your deposit over nothing, I had to take them to ourt to get mine ba k as they just font listen or believe what you say, anyways I'm happy I got all mine back and they had to pay the court fees, all because they didn't listen.. oh well glad I got rid now.

Everything went Smoothly up until the closing, then the closing stages got extremely stressful, to the point of having a very heated conversation. I was getting conflicting and incorrect information being passed either directly to me or my wife, who was also getting stressed. Yes I know this process can be stressful, but we were made made to feel like we were doing all the wrong things, but we were not. We were following advise from our solicitor and not the estate agent as we felt we were being pushed into making a decision, that could have left us with an empty house, and no buyers!! I was not prepared to do anything until exchange of contracts, which seemed to annoy the "Sales Closer", but if a solicitor tells you not to do it until the buyers solicitor is happy, then why would I ignore their advise?? Keiron and Anya were perfect.

I was in a chain and my estate agents in Derbyshire did not seem to know what was going on and made very little attempt to find out.
