Absolutely avoid this company at all costs. At the start of the year, I lost both of my parents, they left me their house which I decided to sell, I should have listened to people when they said avoid Pattinsons but with them being local, I decided to go with them -BIG MISTAKE!! Initially the valuer James came out and valued the property, he over valued the property by over £35000 - he convinced us to go via auction for a quicker sale, and this really wasn’t the case. We asked the question if after the first round we are not happy can we go to a regular sale -Yes, he said, no problem. We found this out to be a total lie! We were then stuck in the battle of auction after auction due to the contract we were in, every time we get a phone call telling us to reduce the price of the auction, never was a thought of we will get you as much as we can but how low are you prepared to go was the question. They played on my vulnerability of losing my parents and convinced me to lower my reserve, the following day I wasn’t happy and wanted to put it back up and they wanted to charge me £1000 for the privilege. WTF!! It all came to a head when the property finally sold, I had to lower the price by over £35000 to what they had valued. Then they asked if I would be happy to go with a mortgage buyer and quoted 56 days to complete. More lies followed as they didn’t inform either solicitor until 1 month after sale which means of course it didn’t complete on time. I have since requested 50% of my fees returned as compensation and today Iain a manager from Newcastle called me today. What a rude person, he spoke over me, claimed the contact was sent to the solicitor on time when I have proof it wasn’t. He constantly tried to talk over the top of me, and I had to stop him then he tried to raise his voice at me as well where I ended the phone call. I can honestly say this estate agents cares about one thing and one thing only -money. They don’t have the customers best interests at heart, and the customer service is absolutely zero. please avoid.... Read more

Despite the property being very unique the valuation was based on as much well researched information as they could manage. Marketing was done well with excellent photos and a photographic 3d walk around. They also managed to arrange marketing in the local paper. Helped negotiate a good selling price higher than the asking price. Property has been sold within 5 weeks of marketing. Friendly and informative staff. Despite speaking to different staff the computer notes were well done meaning we were always well informed. I’d recommend this company.... Read more

Pattinson contacted me first to arrange a valuation. The valuer was very professional and a lovely, friendly guy. He talked us through the packages available and asked if we wanted to think about it over the weekend. There was no pressure to sign up on the day - but we actually did that as we were very impressed. Once I signed up, the staff in the estate agent were always helpful.
