Arranged a viewing for a property on Kingsway yesterday for today, got my reminder text last night and nothing further before the viewing. I got to the property to find out it's already been re-sold this morning upon calling them and that the person who was meant to be showing me round was on lunch (the property went on the market on the 31/12/2024 so I do wonder if it's the truth). I then got a call from the employee who arranged the viewing and was meant to be showing me round to say he'd called my number at around 11am today and explained the situation to my partner which is a lie since I'm going through a divorce and have been at home on my own with my dogs this morning and they can't talk. All he needed to say was he was really sorry that it had been busy since the offer was accepted so hadn't had chance to call to cancel the viewing. I will NOT be viewing any houses for sale with Reeds Rains as I do not support businesses or people that lie.

Would have gave 0 but there was no option. Really disappointed at the ‘Tactics’ used by this branch to blank out a genuine buyer willing to pay full market value and sneakily selling to someone else for £20k less and taking advantage of a delicate situation which involved bereavement for the selling family. Not good practice at all!
I would never want to deal with this branch and trust them with a property as they purposely ignore calls and messages! But answer straight away when ringing from a different number and return calls as well to a different number!!!
Very unprofessional and unfair trading practices which the Property Ombudsman would love to hear about!

Edit in response: I have multiple email receipts that show slow replies, along with multiple other people agreeing that Reeds Rains haven't acted as prompt as they should've. Being a first time buyer, I didn't find it stressful it was just very annoying. People promise things that they never deliver and say things are done which arent. Definitely would not recommend or use Reeds Rains Ossett.
Slow and poor communication of incorrect information. Asked multiple times to confirm things and they never got back to me, turned out to be different to what was stated in the advert. Unfriendly. Always seemed uninterested when viewing the property and over the phone. Difficult to get hold of via email but would expect you (and solicitors) to reply quickly. Others who work there may be good but this was Emily and Ian.

Was put on the list to view an apartment for rent in Ossett.
I told them I was driving from over an hour away (51 miles) in North Yorkshire to see it.
I arrived in Ossett about an hour before the viewing appointment and they called me to cancel the viewing as the landlord had accepted someone who viewed it the day before.
Wasted half a day, 100 miles of petrol and vehicle wear and tear. Very frustrating.

That's good for you, and good for the landlord as not caring about wasting people's time doesn't cost you anything. Apart from good-will, but you don't seem to care about losing that.
If you are going to offer a property and you make appointments for people to view it then you should honour that appointment and not cancel them an hour or so before and waste people's time and money.
If you and your industry care about the tenants, then you should insist that each block of appointments is fulfilled and the landlords receive all the applications before he/she review them along with the previous ones and makes a choice.
When the person called me to cancel, they didn't even apologise, just reeled off a statement about the cancelation. When I told them I'd rented a car and was taking a 100 mile round trip to view the place, they just reeled off the same statement as if they didn't hear me.
Maybe you don't care, but this is the kind of thing that earns the estate agent business such a poor reputation.
And why would you think I want you to give me updates on your service after I was treated in such a shabby way the first time?

The worst business I have ever dealt with!! Going through renting a house currently and the way we have been dealt with is absolutely appalling. The most miserable, unprofessional, unresponsive, utterly useless people I have ever had the misfortune to deal with.
Not only have we been continuously lied to but now our calls are even being ignored.
Tracy who we dealt with originally was just atrocious, never gave us a call once to update us so we called the branch ourselves every day to know what was going on. Only to be told now that we have transferred over to the Wakefield branch that she has done absolutely nothing and even gone against what we have been told!!!
When Tracy isn't in I dealt with Emily who I thought was doing everything she could to ensure we got the keys at the weekend. Not only do we have a time limit for our current property but I'm 4 months pregnant and she knew all of this and getting married in a weeks time then going on honeymoon for 2 weeks out of the country, all of which was stated at the time of viewing the property. However, after our calls being ignored all day long we arrive at the Wakefield branch to be told that everything Emily said she was going to do, she did none of it!!!
The way Emily dealt with my partner was just ridiculous, no use of words but actually shrugged her shoulders and rolled her eyes when he asked her a question.
This company is an absolute shambles and a joke and we have not 1 good thing to say about them.
They do not care about anything at all and make it unbelievably difficult and long.
Never have we ever had something go on for so long and with no end in sight.
The worst customer service I have ever received in my life and will never ever use them again for anything!!!!

Wouldn't recommend we had our house with this branch a few months ago. No interest in selling our property at all. When we had viewings and wanted to hear some feed back it was always us that had to chase them. Also they have two seperate sides for buying and letting most of the time we had to speak to someone from the letting side because the selling side were never in the office poor.plus aswell seem to get the impression they were only interested in the upscale properties not the two bed properties like ours. My advice go with anoter estate agent especially if your selling a house below 150k
