Unfortunately due to heavy traffic I was delayed. I contacted the office 3 times from 9.34am to advise them of this issue. They ignored this information and still insisting I was 45 mins late when I had already advised them of the traffic delays from the outset my appt was for 10.30. I arrived and they cancelled my appointment. Zero consideration for my time. Zero adjustments of intelligence, also refusing to let me speak to the manager. I feel sorry for the seller as I am in a great position to purchase.
UPDATE - as requested by shepherds, I have indeed had a greater quality experience with Kings and P Cuffaro whose high standards and chief skill include ability to communicate their schedule and accommodate the potential buyer in order to secure a sale on behalf of the vendor.
Their priority is not to argue their point but to ensure they communicate efficiently and effectively with maturity and consideration for clients and explain time scales as the buyer would not be aware from the outset of your schedule.
I was actually refused and told very boldly that I could not speak to a manager and had to write in.
I have attached images of my calls updating you of my journey. My 20 minute journey was 1Hr 10 mins. Not once was I told you had a 30 minute journey or a time limit not including or accommodating the 10 minutes (10.40) until my final call 5 minutes before my arrival at11.12. In a nutshell buyers and sellers beware.you can see that arguing the toss in detail on here is the priority over securing your sale!

Shepherds were Heaven sent. After months trying to sell an apartment with another agency, Shepherds stepped into the breach. It was as if the words "professionalism, marketing and communication" had all been re-invented. Shepherds are a 21st Century company with efficiency and ideals that quite simply blew me away in comparison to other agencies. Communication is the key in any industry and you know how frustrating it is to never receive updates or replies to questions. I can’t praise Shepherds Hoddesdon staff enough for their superb service in helping sell my house. They made it a seemless process with their knowledge, professionalism and advice. I’ve dealt with many local estate agents over the years and have always been very wary however nobody compared to Shepherds. Adam, Andy and Nathaniel were all fantastic and I couldn’t fault them. From the offset, Adam explained the pricing range and reasoning behind it and clearly had huge experience in the market. Also provided were recommended solicitors to choose from and pros and cons of each which was a great help. Nathanial and Andy provided lots of guidance when a few issues with the sale arose and gave reassurances when needed at a stressful time. The photos they took really showcased the property, advising how to lay certain rooms out etc and without a doubt contributed to selling it. Overall I was absolutely delighted with the service and have told my friends to look nowhere else but Shepherds. Genuine people who look out for you and most importantly can be totally trusted. Great Service At Shepherds!

Our experience in selling our house through Shepherds Estate Agents Hoddesdon branch, has been nothing but positive.
Everyone we have come into contact with has been very professional and extremely friendly.
All our fears and nerves were quickly dealt with. Which was great for us as we have lived in our house for 46 years and really were like beginners after so long.
I must just mention Andy Collins who dealt with our sale. The best I can say is that he was great, answering all our queries promptly and in our case patiently.

extremely prejudiced and racist. He treated me very rudely. I didn't like how I was treated. The agent said he wasn't going to waste his time showing me around the house. He was awful. I never recommend. This agency and only for English people is very very very rich, controlled financial situation is not good for them. Are awful.

Very disappointed with the staff, my 67 year old mother went for a viewing her train got cancelled and she got lost received a very rude call from the agent not even to ask if she was ok or what was happening, her viewing was 5 and she was only 20 minutes late and was about 7 min walk from the property , this horrible insensible agent rang and said she didn’t have to bother coming anymore didn’t even ask anything and hung up on my mums face and she was lost in the area called me crying , HOW DARE YOU AS AN AGENCY TREAT POTENTIAL TENANTS LIKE THIS ? My mother had to walk to license to ask for directions and help because she is elderly and doesn’t know how to use properly the phone , This agency is the worst scam ever!!! Don’t rent from these people they are mean and unprofessional!!! Can you imagine if it was your mother calling to them ? Put yourself in my shoes ? This guy doesn’t deserve to be an agent ! Will only lose people ! Very sad . Very sad

I recently rented a property from Shane at Shepherds and wanted to share that the experience has gone through seamlessly all of my questions were answered the same day and Shane guided me through the entire process from the initial viewing, helping put together the offer forms and updating me daily with how I was getting on with referencing. I approached Shane with a budget in mind and he worked with my budget to find an amazing property that fits my needs and budget unlike many other agents, and as this was my first time renting it made it a very pleasant experience for me.

There was minimal support and assistance provided as a first time buyer. Very little interest in terms of selling a property (so beware if you're a seller as they are very quick to get potential buyers off the phone). We persevered as we found a property we liked but we didn't even meet the agent as he always appeared to be busy elsewhere. The seller showed us the property and another agent gave us keys in an envelope which we picked up at their offices. I called up several times for updates as there was minimal contact from them and each time felt like I was being taken off the phone as quickly as possible. It has been a really stressful process as we ended up with difficult sellers and the agents provided very little support because, as they said themselves, they work for the seller. They placed the property back on the market instead of encouraging discussion between us and the seller and did so at the end of the working day so as to leave us in a difficult position. Having already spent a lot of money at this point and being stuck between a rock and a hard place, we proceeded to completion on sellers terms only to arrive at the property and see they had left a load of mouldy carpets in the garage, a large hole in the asbestos ceiling inside the built in wardrobe, missing lightbulbs and a load of damage on the walls and carpets from removing furniture and wall fixtures. As a first time buyer- i'm not sure if this is just normal etiquette for people moving but I certainly received no support from the agents. They provide no personal touch, we just went to pick up the keys in an envelope and off we went. I guess as far as they're concerned, they have their money and don't really care anymore- not that they cared all that much even before they had their money. Would have been nice to have been able to enjoy the process of purchasing our first home a bit more. We certainly know for next time!

Shepherds are a very helpful, professional and friendly agent. Every one of the team we spoke to was knowledgeable about our sale and eager to help.
Most of our sale was handled by Charlie Fearey and Eddie Terry. If it wasn't for all their efforts during the difficulties of 2020 I'm sure our sale wouldn't have gone through. Both of them gave us as much time as we needed with any issue or questions and there wasn't a single time when either of them failed to get back to us when they weren't immediately available.
All in all, Shepherds are honest, very professional and realistic. They won't tell you what you want to hear and then start 'changing their minds' once you're onboard with them. They work with facts and figures to give a realistic expectation of what to aim for and they work very hard to make sure it happens that way.
If you want to take away a large part of the stress out of moving house then use Shepherds.

Charlie has been very thorough and has kept us up to date with everything that has been happening. He's done an excellent job with chasing the seller and guiding us as first time buyers. Rather bog standard letting agency with limited interest.
Rang and spoke with staff about a property in Wareside with a couple of very straight forward questions. 1. Is it long term rental. 2. Do they accept pets.
Staff member didn't appear overly interested during our conversation, and this is rather apparent as they never got back to me.

not one to usually leave reviews however i feel so let down that its only fair i express my experience but more importantly for the company itself.
i was due to view a property in Nazeing last week which was booked in by the Hoddesdon branch. Due to the current covid situation appointments had to be spaced out and viewings set days apart, i was booked in for the viewing 10 days after i made contact, i felt this was too long to wait and even stated at the time will you be seeing all viewings through which the answer was yes.
2 days before the viewing i get notified that all future viewings are now cancelled as an offer has been accepted the day before, great however why book viewings in if mid way your prepared to accept offers and not give people a fair chance?? it was only 2 more days to go until the viewing! its just not how you do business in my opinion.
i tried to explain my position is very strong with a mortgage agreement already in place and prepared to go over the asking price so could you relay that back to the vendor as i have been looking for a family home in the area for a while, i was rudely shut down and told the vendor would not be interested as she is happy to proceed with the current offer received,
now i know i would certainly like to have been informed of a such information if i was the vendor so close into accepting an offer..
i did call the branch sales manager a few times only to keep being told there not available! left a message no call back wether it was passed on or not who knows.. in the end i spoke to the same agent instead and was softly told if it does not work out we will let you know, now that sounds good however the agent made no effort to confirm my details just wanted me off the phone.
extremely disappointed in the level of professionalism from a sales prospect never come across such working methods before! a real shame as i am so interested in the property.

Came to veiw one of their properties today. The estate agent was awful. Hardly sold it to us. My husband, an ITU doctor, took the morning off work to see the place and the agent was eager to kick us out after 8 minutes because he had another viewing. Shame because we were previously very keen on the place.

After such fantastic service, I just had to leave a review! I was a first time buyer and as such, needed a fair amount of guidance. Shepherds were great from start to end and beyond! My agent Charlie, communicated well throughout the process. Furthermore he was still responding to requests after the sale - this is significant for me as usually once people already have your money, it becomes very difficult to get a hold of them! The times that Charlie was not available, his colleagues were helpful also. They really did take the stress out of the home buying process and I’m really grateful for the smooth and efficient service. I would definitely recommend them!

We used Shepherds after they sold our neighbour's house. Working in the industry myself, I always tend to be quite critical on service levels.
From first meeting, all the way through to getting the property on the market, was an efficient and professional process. Was very impressed with the photos of the property.
Once the property was on the market, we had a large number of viewings, all communicated to us and all feedback also provided. They also managed to get the property under offer within 10 days of marketing, which we were thrilled with.
Charlie, who was dealing with our sale, was always available to speak with, and if he wasnt, another member of the team would assist, with no problems.
We exchanged in 7 weeks and just in time for Christmas.
A fantastic experience, and would highly recommend Shepherds as the agency to work with.

Was a tennant for over 5 years, they never had a single issue with us, all of our inspections were passed with no problems.
As soon as we gave notice they become unhelpful and held our deposit back, they lied over loads of things, but we had proof to show they was lying. They said the house was not cleaned but we paid for a cleaner, carpets to be cleaned and a window cleaner, and they was given all the receipts for this work.
Avoid this letting agents, they are happy to take your money, but never want to pay it back

They were proactive to resolve issues, kept in constant communication and its is in no small part due to their hard work that the sale stayed together and we were finally able to move. Carmelo and Jordan have been amazing and very professional from viewings with Carmelo which we didn’t feel rushed and he answered all the questions we had about the property and made us feel at ease.Jordan was so quick with our paperwork and welcoming and very quick response time with my hundred emails????????.Even after we have moved they’re still very good making sure everything we need is in place.Will highly recommend.Thank you once again guys!!!

Fantastic experience from the Shepherds Letting Team, especially Jordan and Nicola. They both provided continued advice and support throughout our first time of searching, viewing and organising viewings . They both as a team were extremely helpful, diligent, prompt and willing to help with finding us somewhere to live also, communication was outstanding through the process of organising contracts etc.
Now moved in they are always happy to assist us with advice should we need it and are so professional when it comes to resolving issues . A thorougher estate agents who I would recommend to anyone .

I have been a customer of Shepherds Estate Agents in Hoddesdon for almost a year, during this time I have been very happy with their services and I can honestly recommend them.
Here is a good example that should give you a real overview of how well they run their services:
We had a little incident with a water leak in the bathroom very late during the night before Christmas Eve.
I was very worried that it would be a problem to get the leak sorted on those festive days.
However, when I contacted the Shepherds Team via a text; I had a call right away with helpful advice and the promise that they would find me a plumber for the morning since we agreed that the issue could wait until the next day. The next morning we had a plumber at our door by 10.30 am.
The Shepherds Team during the following months after that incident, by working closely with me and my family; have demonstrated to us that they are a helpful team. They are very patient with difficult customers like me that have hundred of questions and like to read at a very slow pace every word in a contract, I appreciate their help and their time, for that reason whenever I might need an Estate Agent in the future; they will be my first call.
I love that this agency has great transparency with their operations, it is great to have such a clear service. This is a very reassuring quality of someone or a business that would inspire trust on most customers, at least it does for me.
I hope that those reading this review can see that Shepherds Estate Agents in Hoddesdon have earned my respect and all my appreciation with their work and their time. For that reason, I gladly share my fair review based on my experience with their services and I can recommend them to those reading my long review.

Nothing but good things to say about Shepherds.
My dealing have been mainly with both Nicola and Jordan, both of whom have been excellent in helping me to let a property.
Their enthusiasm and professionalism has made the whole process very straight forward and easy especially during a period when supply was high and demand was low.
I chose Shepherds over other local estate agents because of there can do attitude, their professionalism and their friendliness.

Really good agency. We found a nice property to rent and it looked much nicer than photos. Jordan helped us with all the paperwork needed and we finished the whole process really fast. She replies almost immediately on our e-mails providing everything we need, compared to our last property agent who used to reply a week after! Adam Sanders from Shepherds Estate Agents in Hoddesdon, Herts. has been involved in property fraud & should be banned from running an estate agents. The typical traits of a greedy, dishonest estate agent out to make a quick buck! Does not deserve the one star but unfortunately it is the minimum required.

Shepherds are a breath of fresh air. We put our house up for sale with them on the Saturday morning and by 3pm they already had 8 viewings pencilled in for the same day. Steve Howard is very professional, reliable and keeps you well informed at all times. In total we ended up with 25 viewings and accepting an offer within 5 days of going to market, because of the way it was marketed. Will and Ed in the office have been really helpful in Steve's absence as well and i would recommenced people in the local area using their services without doubt. During the buying process there i encountered some bad estate agents and its good to know that Shepherds buck that trend and lead with an excellent example.

I find this estate agents unprofessional who consider themselves the gatekeepers for properties in the Broxbourne area. How can an agent decide that a cash buyer doesn't have the necessary funds to purchase a house ,necessary income to purchase a property and decides and they decide to go with a purchaser with a mortgage. Does that make sense. I find it suspicious. Continue with gatekeeping this area if you wish. Personally I wouldn't approach them to purchase or sell a property.
