We had an outstanding experience with the team at Slater Hogg & Howison in Helensburgh and wanted to highlight the exceptional service provided by Danielle, Olivia, and Gill.
From the very beginning, Danielle handled our case brilliantly. Her communication was excellent throughout; responses were always prompt, and every request we made was followed up quickly and efficiently. What really stood out was how professional and reassuring she was without ever being pushy (which, in our experience, can sometimes happen with estate agents). She made the whole process feel organised, transparent, and calm.
Olivia also deserves special mention. On the one occasion we spoke while Danielle was away, she stepped in seamlessly and handled our request as if she had been managing the case all along. That level of coordination and teamwork is rare and very impressive.
Gill, who showed us the property, was equally fantastic; kind, courteous, professional, and extremely knowledgeable. She took the time to answer questions and made the viewing feel relaxed and informative rather than rushed as it was a big step for us. She also helped calm my nerves at a time when I was feeling quite stressed, as it was my first time purchasing a property in Scotland. Her reassurance and patience really made a difference.
Overall, the team combines real expertise with a genuinely supportive approach. At times it honestly felt like we had a team negotiating and advocating on our behalf. They made us feel heard, were flexible and accommodating, and consistently demonstrated that they were doing their absolute best for us.
Having bought and sold a few properties over the years, I can honestly say we’ve never experienced estate agents quite like this. A truly excellent team and a credit to Slater Hogg & Howison Helensburgh.

Everyone was hugely friendly and helpful. The service leading up to the property going on the market was extremely professional and seamless and I would recommend. We chose to have viewings done by Slater Hogg and I presumed this would be done on a Saturday as well as during the week. I did not realise that we would have to do our own viewings on a Saturday. As we were selling my mother's property and no one lives close by this was quite difficult for us but I do appreciate that staff need time off. The only other fault i could find is that after the closing date i was contacted by email to let me know the result and i would have hoped to have had a telephone call . Despite these two issues I would still chose to use this agent in the future.

Gave them my flat to sell in Helensburgh last year. Before I signed up they filled my head with nonsense as to how easy it would be to sell and how strong the market was. When they couldn’t sell it - mainly because the viewing agent couldn’t tell the time or give a bit of extra time for the viewer to arrive or constant ‘cancellations’ they blamed my flat.
I got a friend to schedule a viewing and young agent told him I was desperate to sell and to make a low offer as it would probably be accepted. I thought the role of an estate agent was to get the best price for the seller but I guess I was wrong.
The office manager called me a liar when she refused to believe her colleague in Livingston never called me. I never got a call. I found her to be rude and aggressive.
Each time a viewer was able to make it I asked for a telephone call with feedback - I never got a feedback or any phone calls.
Property is supposed to be fast-paced and high energy. I get the feeling the staff there spend a lot of time waiting for the kettle to boil and looking at shoes on the internet.
And the property Director is more interested in prancing about on stage with his band.

It’s a tough time in the market and I had lots of ups and downs throughout the process given my personal circumstances - but the slater Hogg team kept everything ticking over and got the sale over the line for the price I hoped for!
I’d like to specially mention molly who was there every step of the way and kept my partner and I (especially me!) positive throughout the process.
I’ve worked with other estate agents before and slater Hogg really were ten steps ahead in terms of kindness and, critically, communication where I found other agents were really lacking.
Thanks to the Helensburgh teams great service I also chose to organise my new mortgage through a slater Hogg broker, Chris, who’s also been a great help! I’ll definitely return work with him again in a few years to renew.
I couldn’t recommend slater Hogg Helensburgh highly enough and if I wasn’t moving far away from the area I’d absolutely choose them again for future sales and purchases.

I dealt with Jacqueline for my house sale and she was brilliant from day one. Coming from Hong Kong to Helensburgh was never going to be easy, but Jacqueline made sure that she always maintained a connection between myself and the seller (despite being miles away) and that I was always kept in the loop. Thanks to her, the house sale went so smoothly without any major hiccups. Not only this, but Jacqueline is friendly and approachable and gives a really personalized service. It was quite nerve wracking making a purchase from abroad but I felt very secure with Slater and Hogg as they made sure every angle was covered and were always on hand to make suggestions as to how I could view the house or ask the seller questions.
I will move to Scotland with my husband for the first time this year and I do believe that Slater and Hogg, and especially Jacqueline, have made for such an easy transition for us.

We sold our house through Slater Hogg & Howison and, except for a slight lack of attention to detail when setting up the contract with the agent, the process was handled professionally and efficiently. Once on the market viewings were well organised and a closing date was quickly declared once we had serious interest in the property. Our house sold 6 months after going on the market at a time when several other properties in the area had been for sale for considerably longer. We would particularly like to thank Fiona, the negotiator, who kept us informed throughout the process and helped to advise and reassure us throughout the whole process. On top of this, Fiona advised us when it came to bidding for houses and was proactive in bringing to our attention houses that were coming onto the market. Moving home is a stressful time but in our case has been made less so because of Fiona's professional, supportive and friendly approach.
