Thank you to everyone at Slater Hogg and Howison for making a stressful experience much easier than expected . We decided to sell our 2 properties and down size to the costal town of Largs . Our first contact was Gill MacKenzie ( Largs , sales consultant) who was very friendly and professional and put us as our ease as she outlined the processes and procedures of selling and buying . We last bought 40 years ago , so a bit out of touch with today’s changes . Gill arranged contact with Slater Hogg and Howison branch in Paisley and got the ball rolling for the sale of our 2 properties. Everything was explained to us and we were happy to proceed . Gill was fantastic , as we came with a few requests . The master bedroom must be big enough to accommodate a super king sized bed , kitchen must accommodate a large American fridge freezer , property must have a lift and lastly a glass balcony with an uninterrupted view of the water! No pressure. Gill rose to the challenge and within a very short time we found our ideal downsized flat , which ticked all the boxes for us . This was definitely the very best customer experience and service we have ever experienced . Within a very short time , both properties were sold and our Largs flat bought . On the occasion(s) that I phoned the Largs branch , all the staff were indeed friendly , professional and informative and always reassured me . I would without hesitation recommend Slater Hogg and Howison to friends and family for their services . What a wonderful team and service from the Largs Slater, Hogg & Howison branch, from putting our cottage on the market to receiving our offer, the whole process was smooth and we always felt like a priority. We have viewed properties advertised with Slater Hogg Largs twice. Both times we had very bad experiences. They are ignorant, unprofessional and devious. The first time were the highest bidder and cash buyers but did not get the property. The second time we had placed notes of interest but they would not allow us to bid. Possibly because we did not need a mortgage. If you are thinking of buying steer well clear of them.... Read more

Slater Hogg proved to be unequipped to sell houses and showed their lack of experience and professionalism from the very start when their proposed 'photographs' turned out to look like random holiday snaps with absolutely no eye for attracting buyers. Their property 'narrative' was also apparently written by a semi-literate intern. Subsequent experience going forward with the 'offers' scenario actually got worse when they seemed to want to pressurise the seller to accept a below-market value offer. Since moving to the much more professional and capable Corum agents, the property sold within weeks for £45k more than the offer Slater Hogg tried to strong-arm the seller into accepting. This was a 20% increase. Avoid Slater Hogg. Rude, unprofessional and incapable as are their owning company Countrywide.... Read more

We were searching from abroad which made the task harder but we were in weekly, sometimes daily, contact with Mairi via email. Mairi is such a lovely, young, enthusiastic agent who definitely went above and beyond for us... not only calling to get feedback after a viewing but calling to suggest properties to us, keeping us in the loop with new properties coming on the market and generally keeping in touch.
