I have bought and sold quite a few houses in my life and I would honestly say that the service I have received from the team at Slater Hogg in Kilmarnock has been the most supportive by a long way. Initially they responded quickly, Steve gave good advice when he came to value the house and then Mairi quickly became a total godsend. Her communication was excellent, she kept me informed of every step being taken and she went over and above to ensure that everything was being done to secure a sale. They were very professional, pleasant, good communicators, prompt to respond and always happy to help get us through the sales process.
We would have no hesitation recommending anyone thinking of selling their property in the Kilmarnock/East Ayrshire area to sell it with the help of the Slater Hogg team.
We would have scored 5 stars were it not for one entirely unintentional but nevertheless ‘fly in the ointment’ oversight. Least said, soonest mended.

My experience with Slater Hogg & Howieson has been positive from the very beginning when Steve visited to list the house. The professional approach from Steve has been replicated by Mairi, Charlene and Lewis throughout the full process. The team are very proactive and professional whilst always using a friendly approach.
I cannot recommend the team enough, I used the same company to sell a house 22 years ago and my experience then influenced my decision to use them again. Different team but still as good as the last one. Slater Hogg obviously know how to pick their staff.

Viewed a house for sale with this estate agents, and in the weeks following the viewing - I got, what I can only describe as, harassed to death with constant phone calls and voicemails, even after I told them I would not be making an offer on the property. On the few occasions I did answer the phone I was bombarded with questions regarding my personal and financial circumstances and multiple times they tried to sell me a mortgage (despite being told I already had one and was not interested!) that was twice as much as my budget.
Since then I have honestly not expressed interest or viewed any properties for sale being listed by this estate agent because I simply do not want to be harassed again

Slater Hogg in Kilmarnock handled both our purchase and sale. Everything was on point from our initial contact about a viewing, getting Steve out to value and help market our house, all the way up until final completion.
It was a long process, and at times it genuinely felt like Mairi and the team were holding the deals and the chain together single handedly!
Ultimately, we had lots of property interest, very professional photos, videos and drone shots, which had our house sold in a couple of days to our second viewers. We always felt that the team were working with us to help manage the process, listening and taking on board our thoughts and providing expert advice at the right time.

Viewed a property and was offered it next day. Paid £300 holding deposit while my references came back. Had the remaining £1200 there to pay and got a call to say the landlord wanted a further £800 on top of the £1500 I was already paying due to something on my credit file which I was open and honest with and explained it wasn’t down to myself. Just very expensive to be moving into a flat. Other letting agents I’ve spoken with agree. Other than that, staff were polite and helpful.

Absolutely useless, popped in last week to see if they would put my property on to let, and arranged a letting agent to come out view my property. Agent (Bernard) didn't turn up, i phoned and was told by a lad he was supposed to call me that morning to say the agent couldn't make it.
I gave a week's notice for an appointment and they couldn't find time for a call, so my time was completely wasted. I was asked if i wanted to rearrange appointment and going by what I'd seen already i politely declined.

Me and my partner have just bought our first home through Slater Hogg and they couldn’t have made it any easier for us. They were always easy to get a hold of to arrange viewings etc. In their office all the staff were excellent and friendly and made us feel at ease as we were nervous about buying first home and they even put us in touch with a local solicitor to help us go through the paperwork.
