We are shortly going to be completing with Williams and Donovan and moving into our lovely house.
We have had a very pleasant experience with W&D and although we hope not to move anytime soon or again, it was made very smooth and easy for us by them. They responded to us quickly, liaised with the sellers nicely and we are so glad we ended up buying with W&D, as the estate agents because everyone who worked there was so lovely.
The main people we used were Paul Dunne and Lloyd Collins. Lloyd was amazing at the negotiation and Paul was so efficient the whole way through. Thank you so much for such a nice sales progression, only 8 weeks since the offer was accepted, it has taken us it’s been so quick!

The staff at this estate agents are excellent. I would particularly like to mention Lloyd and Mark. They kept in touch, resolved any queries I had and went the extra mile on numerous occasions, complete opposite to the estate agent involved in my purchase. Cannot recommend Williams & Donovan enough. Wonderful.

Absolutely disgusting we had to sell our 3 bedroom house and move my children out of out house because of tenants next door to us who are under william and donovan refusing to get them out. Even though we had enough police records and also lots of records of the tenants and a abatement order from the council. They would not get there tenants out just because they were paying the rent. Kayleigh the letting manager who is at the hockley branch. Is very rude and to be honest unqualified to do her job. As this had been going on for years the bullying, parties music all day every day and apparently they lost all reports made by anyone about there tenants. Also we were not the only ones to move out due to this. All they care about is money and keeping landlords happy which is a disgusting. I hope the highest manager of william and donovan see this because something should be done about it.

Williams and Donovan were amazing from the moment they valued my home through to the completion. At first we had James Whyte visit us to value our home and discuss how W&D could help us. He presented us with statistical information but you could also see the confidence and enthusiasm he had about wanting to sell our property. Hands down they had the best approach to working with us and this has showed throughout our time with W&D. After selling and finding somewhere to purchase we were handed over to Paul D, we have not been disappointed. The continued level of service throughout this business has been excellent. We have had a tricky time with our buyers solicitor to say the least and at every step of the way Paul has been there to push this along, or try to assist in whatever way possible. I have been frustrated at times and Paul has been there to understand.
I would seriously consider who sell your property with because it makes a difference! This service was above and beyond - I couldn't ask more from the team. You won't regret instructing the W&D team to assist you through this process. Thank you to their team, Amy and Alex :)

When a relatively straightforward quick sale turns into a situation where we wanted to bang our heads ( and others!) against a wall, we had the one thread throughout, who knew what he was doing, sympathised with the frustration of it all, and more importantly, rang us back when he said he would, chased people up when he said he would, had our corner and got results by constantly contacting the relevant parties who at times, clearly didn't communicate with their own staff, didn't pass on emails and didn't ring us back..... and that was Paul at Williams and Donovan. These glorious humans... in a diabolical nightmare in which we sold three times, lost our buyer twice, bought a fixer-upper house from a divorcing couple at war with basically zero avenues of communication that thanks to our woeful solicitors took OVER FIVE MONTHS, W&D were just so utterly splendid. W&D sold my mothers property at a very difficult time, meaning viewings were not always possible/easy, but they were always friendly and accommodating and handled our situation with care. TERRIBLE AVOID!
We recently purchased a house through Williams & Donovan, it was advertised everywhere as having a south facing garden. Once in the property realised it was in fact a NW facing garden. Brought this up with them and got a response from Sales Director James Whyte. Who was rude and ignorant, not even so much as an apology on their behalf in fact they claimed it was my solicitors fault as they done searches. I didn’t think they searched for potential lies from estate agent. James is rude, condescending and arrogant. If this is how director level deal with complaints I would hate to see how the rest of the firm is run. Would give 0 Stars if I could.

Williams and Donovan … complete liars and crooks .. they withhold offers or refuse to put an offer in on the lie and pretence that the client won’t accept offers under a certain number , when you speak to the owner they have no idea !!
This estate agent save properties for their builder friends and deceive the general public
Friends of mine had exactly the same experience .. so this can’t be a one off
Don’t touch these with a barge pole.

We were buying a house where Paul at Williams and Donovan was the estate agent, for the house we were buying.
Even though he wasn’t technically my estate agent, he always took my calls when I checked in for an update on the transaction. Paul answered my emails promptly and most importantly his proactive chasing up and down the seven-house chain, ensured the sales went through.
I'm sure that without Paul, the chain would have collapsed and we wouldn’t be in our dream house!

We really appreciated all the effort from Williams and Donovan (Hockley) throughout our move. We put our house on the market and it sold within 2 weeks! We couldn’t believe it. All throughout the sale and purchase process the staff at W&D (especially Denise) were superb. They kept me suitably informed and when we had little snags (as there inevitably are) like a last minute request to change a completion date on the exchange date, to quote Denise, she “stuck her pointy shoes on and put her foot down” and completion happened on the originally planned date without a hitch! I would absolutely recommend them!

Tom (W & D Hockley) came to value our property. Unlike some other agents, he wasn’t pushy or forceful but really professional and knowledgeable and we were very pleased with the photographs that he took.
Then Denise looked after us from beginning to end and she was absolutely brilliant keeping us updated with regular progress reports. She was patient, kind, empathetic and really knew her stuff. Thank you Denise for all your help and support. We would also like to say thank you to Paul who looked after us while Denise was on annual leave. He really had his work cut out towards the end of our sale with unresponsive parties at the beginning of the chain but his dogged determination resulted in a satisfactory outcome.
All in all the whole team at Hockley were great; always answering the telephone in a polite, courteous manner, passing on messages in a timely manner to ensure that phone calls were returned promptly.
We would have no hesitation in recommending Williams & Donovan; they made a potentially stressful chapter in our lives really quite bearable.

We Sold our house with Benfleet branch, and ended up buying from them too! The guys were really good, from Lloyd seeing us originally and getting the house on the market, to Lynn being on it chasing up the chain (in particular one of the Solicitors).
The house sold very quickly, and the fact they were sensible with the valuation certainly helped. Some EAs we had round were promising to get silly money for the house, desperate to get the sale (and in some cases the corresponding high cut they wanted) - but I didn't see the point if we ended up putting down the price again and again till it sold, something that's fairly obvious when you look at Rightmove.
The main thing that I liked though - Was the office knew us and we could just pick up the phone and call them for any problems.

We decided to go with Williams and Donovan to list our property because they were very honest in their valuation of our property and took time to explain the importance of not over valuing the property as other estate agents we looked at had, and also the statistics they have in selling properties in the area were way above the rest of their competitors.
They were very helpful throughout the Sales process calling us to provide feedback on viewings promptly, and arranging them at our convenience. Once our property had sold we were looking for a new home to buy. Just like with the Sales they were able to organise viewings of properties for us to buy in a professional manner. When we found our home and had our offer accepted, Paul and his team did an exceptional job of managing the chain and providing updates from all sides.
