As a Londoner, I fell in love with Southwold at first sight, and renting a flat there has been an entirely positive experience thanks to Wincworth.
When I first saw the flat listed on Rightmove, I called the office on a Friday evening and was given a viewing appointment for Saturday at 11 a.m. The whole process felt smooth and well organised from the very start.
Throughout, the team has been consistently kind, professional, and genuinely helpful. Linda, Lydia, and Rob were all a pleasure to deal with and made the entire process feel straightforward and reassuring — a refreshing contrast to the often more impersonal rental experience in London.
I was able to walk into the Southwold office without an appointment, where everything was handled clearly and efficiently. On another occasion, just before leaving town, they kindly showed me the flat again so I could take measurements, which I really appreciated.
While I’m still in London awaiting my move, they were also happy to receive a modem delivery on my behalf, which was very helpful. Communication throughout was excellent: prompt, friendly, and reassuring. Even when we were waiting on an electrical certificate and the process took a little longer than expected, everyone remained responsive and supportive, and I never felt stressed.
Overall, it’s been a smooth, thoughtful, and genuinely welcoming experience. I’m very much looking forward to spending time in Southwold and would like to thank Linda, Lydia, and Rob for making the whole process so easy.

Avoid. Wasted hundreds of pounds on solicitors and surveys as winkworth advertised the property with a service charge that was a quarter of the actual figure. Brought my concerns with this misslisting to them and was roundly fobbed off by Rachel in post-sales who tried to downplay these concerns and then passed me to someone who tried to tell me that GDPR meant they couldn't discuss the documents my solicitor had obtained, despite them all relating to the deceased seller and GDPR absolutely not applying.
Noted they now have a disclaimer at bottom of the listing saying they rely on the information provided by the vendor in good faith rather than doing any due dillgence themselves!

I cannot fault the service we have had from Winkworth in Eaton. From start to finish they have been open, honest and provided really good communication. George and Kris were amazing when valuing and doing viewings, I was always kept informed and in the loop with feedback. We had a very complicated completion day(s) and Rachel from aftersales was amazing at chasing solicitors to try and resolve the issues, and I felt she really cared about our situation and ensuring we were okay. Don't think we could have gotten it resolved without her input. Highly highly recommend.

Dreadful estate agents. Put the property I had had an offer accepted on,back on the market without telling me. Roof was in need of repair and I needed a specialist to have a look at the eves. Dear potential clients of Winkworth Estate Agents,
I would like to make you all aware before you think of signing a contract with this incapable organisation.
Firstly a viewing took place at my property, which I later found footprints all over my brand new cream carpets, on another occasion my wall got damaged by a client that viewed my property so I made contact with the Director regarding costs to fix this, but was told it’s not their responsibility to supervise your property during viewings.
Secondly, the communication and lies regarding clients positions and the ongoing lack of support quickly come to light that we had chosen the wrong agent.
Lastly, my advice to you, would be to never to go with Winkworth as the whole experience was something I wouldn’t want anyone else to go through. We have wasted an entire 4 months with this agent, with much regret!
