We rented an apartment through Johns & Co at approximately £5,500 per month, with our tenancy handled by Ralph. Unfortunately, the start of the tenancy was extremely disappointing and far below the standard one would reasonably expect at this price level. During the first week we encountered a number of serious issues. The property had not been properly prepared at move-in, the fire alarms were not functioning initially, and a malfunctioning door lock resulted in my mother being unable to exit the property for an extended period. In addition, we experienced no heating for around five days, no hot water or proper shower for approximately six days, and the fridge remained non-functional for more than a week, meaning we were unable to store food. There were also other faults including leaks and malfunctioning appliances. What was particularly concerning was the slow response to these issues. Despite the number of problems, no one from the agency attended the property to assess the situation in person, and communication largely consisted of messages while repairs were arranged gradually over time. While some issues were eventually addressed, the overall experience during the first week of the tenancy caused significant disruption and was not consistent with the expectations for a property marketed as a premium apartment.... Avoid Chante - Unprofessional and Disrespectful Service! I am writing this review to save others from the incredibly frustrating experience I had dealing with Chante at Johns & Co. From the beginning, communication was inconsistent and misleading. On several occasions, she said she would “call the landlord” and implied urgency due to another offer being made on the property. However, the flat had reportedly been on the market for months with no interest until we became involved. The pressure tactics felt dishonest and unnecessary. Communication was one of the biggest issues. Messages would often go unanswered for long periods, which makes it extremely difficult to plan viewings in London’s fast-paced rental market. After repeated follow-ups and pushback, we finally agreed on a viewing. I travelled 1.5 hours specifically to attend. I arrived five minutes early at 7:40am and asked where we should meet. I was told she was waiting for a colleague to drop off keys. I then waited outside for 30 minutes. Instead of proceeding with the viewing, she decided to return to her office because she had a meeting to attend - effectively leaving without conducting the viewing. No proper apology, no professional handling of the situation. It is not normal or acceptable to deflect, mislead, ghost clients, or waste someone’s time in this way. I am sharing this so others can make an informed decision before engaging with her. I also hope Johns & Co management take this feedback seriously and address the standard of service being delivered.... Read more

Johns&Co is the letting agent managing my flat at Battersea Power Station. In July 2025, Johns&Co collected rent of more that £19k from my tenant in advance to cover the period from September 2025 to February 2026. The tenant attended their office in person and made the payment with a member of Johns&Co staff. However, a representative from their accounts department, Matthew, later informed me that the funds were only received and allocated on 31 January 2026, which is untrue. This statement contradicts the actual payment date and appears to be an attempt to justify the prolonged holding of my funds. Matthew’s communication was accusatory and misleading, and he failed to take responsibility for the error. Due to this matter, I have instructed a solicitor to address the issue formally.... I would never recommend someone to work with Johns and Co! I have had a tenant and without fail since the tenant has moved in the rent has never been paid on time. When they found this tenant they called me and pressured me everyday to say this would be a good tenant and how he was a student abroad and the country the student was from a country where they paid for their accommodation. There is not one month I have received this rent on time! I can’t stress enough do not use Johns and Co at no circumstance if you don’t want to be ripped off and stressed out!... Read more

I worked with Jaina who was fantastic to deal with from start to finish. Although I ended up going for a property through another estate, she was still extremely helpful, open with information, and brilliant at communicating. She took the time to really understand what I was looking for and offered great recommendations, and I especially appreciated her being available during her off hours. These people are cowboys and cowgirls, highly unprofessional course of dealings with these people. Met with the manager Jay and detailed all of my requirements to him; he wrote everything down and assured me that Isabel would be in touch on Monday. Call and let a message for her as she never called on Monday; wrote her an email to explain the nature of my conversation with Jay, she did reply on Tuesday via email and said she would try to organize something else. She has not been in touch. Eight years on in 2025, they are still horrific. DO NOT USE THEM.... Read more

I am compelled to write this having just moved out of a property. Some of Johns and Co's practices are not only underhanded but illegal. They will try to take money out of your deposit for 'final bills' (eg. electrictiy), despite us having settled these ourselves. We lived in a property that started with a broken dishwasher (they were already aware of this prior to moving in) and a broken airconditioning unit which they did not fix in our entire tenancy. The bathroom was so poorly maintained that during the first week of us moving in the bathroom pipes leaked into the below neighbour's flat. The shower also continued leaking on to the bathroom floor every time it was used because of failure by the landlord and John's and Co to maintain the property. Additionally, we booked a move out cleaning to be done as we have a dog (which we paid additional monthly pet fees for) and we used their desired contractor. For a 1 bedroom and 1 bathroom flat to vacuum some dog hair they charged nearly £800 (it is a 500sq flat) and tried to claim that the upholstery was in a bad state. We had covers on all upholstery for our entire stay there. This upholstery was severely stained and marked when we moved in due to lack of cleaning and maintenance done by the landlord/ John's and Co.
