We sold our home through Robsons Rickmansworth. Our instructed agent was Matthew Gooder.
Clear and repeated instructions about how to market our property were not followed by Mr Gooder, with Robsons marketing strategy proving weak with poor communication and little follow-through. We had specifically asked him to conduct viewings himself as he had promised at the outset (he never did) and a SAR request against this office later revealed offers that were not forwarded, undisclosed buyer interest and a premature cessation of marketing efforts despite our instructions.
At the same time, Robsons were also involved in our onward purchase via another office. Mr Gooder repeatedly appeared distracted by the purchase. We later discovered he was central to a bitter dispute with that office at that exact time and there are cross-office financial incentives, giving rise to a substantial conflict of interest, that were never disclosed to us. This dispute went to court, making the national press and anyone considering instructing Mr Gooder should read it for themselves and consider if the toxic culture it highlights at Robsons is really in your best interests as clients. We raised all these concerns through Robsons’ complaints process but they've refused to investigate despite previous promises to do so.
Overall our experience with Robsons proved unnecessarily stressful and the service provided by Mr Gooder in particular was extremely poor. We would not recommend using them.... Read more
