7th Aug 2026 (16 days ago)We had our house on the market with Burchell Edwards, Ilkeston, and things initially went quite well, securing a sale at asking price. This unfortunately fell through on the day we were supposed to exchange contracts and we had to start the process again.<br><br>We resold quite quickly but our new buyer dropped the price by £7000 after a survey. The branch told us that this was due to the risk of damp and we asked what they ment as we had damp proofing done recently, that came with 25-year guarantees. Then the branch told us they thought we didn’t have any damp proofing done, and specifically that they had told the buyer the opposite without clarifying with us first. Ultimately the buyer would not take that the branch had told them false information into account and we had to take a loss on the house, as we already had our dream property lined up.<br><br>Then there were various issues once we handed over to the progressions team. I won’t detail them all as it would take me a long time. Due to the service as a whole we made a complaint through the complaints team. The response was quite frankly inadequate. They found ‘no evidence’ that the branch had made the error by telling the buyer we had no damp proofing done, along with other issues raised to them. They essentially said, since the staff member didn’t write the error down it couldn’t have happened. I really felt like they were dismissive of our complaints. I would not recommend them to anyone and I would not use them again.<br><br>I would however recommend Green and May in Alfreton, they were who sold us our new home, I couldn’t be happier with the service we received from them. They were exceptional!

Her dedication, professionalism and thoughtfulness has made this journey quite an easy one . I will definitely recommend 100% ??????. 28th Jul 2026 (26 days ago)After a promising start with Jared it quickly went down hill. We are first time sellers and dealing with WHB put us off entirely that we took the house off the market and are going to try again in a couple of years (with another estate agent).<br><br>(To be clear, when we cancelled the contract I emailed them with our experience and it went unanswered)<br><br>In summary:<br>1. We expected a consultative experience. Being guided through the selling process with recommendations on what to do. Instead we’d get calls asking us what we wanted to do… if we knew what to do we wouldn’t be paying you thousands in fees.<br>2. Liberty is in serious need of training. Any push back or challenge and she hands you off to Jared, during negotiations with a prospective buyer she relayed incorrect information on their offer, and speaking with the offerees directly communication with them was non existent. From the same offerees we were told that Liberty really doesnt understand the house she is selling, any of its unique features (even though we sent an email detailing them) and instead just guessed.<br>3. We had 4 viewings in 4 months, zero advice on what to do. With one viewing they were an elderly couple looking for a bungalow (for context we are a 3 story with steep stairs)<br>4. We received an incredibly low offer. This offer was delivered with no advice, no suggestions on next steps, no consultation. Just "here's the offer, what do you wanna do?" This offer was given around lunchtime, to which we countered and I had to chase a call the morning after to find out what was going on.<br><br>Rather than the consultative experience we expected, it feels like they are just order takers.<br><br>Based on our experience id encourage you to avoid.

21st Apr 2026 (18 weeks ago)I have had multiple experience with the staff here and can honestly say that I would not go anywhere else. The staff are very professional, provide a great service and are very helpful and polite. Having both purchased and sold with whitegates and experienced superb service each time I though it was only fair that I shout about it so that others will know how good they really are. I only ever recommend them (and yes I have tried others in the past, my worst experience being with a company that has an X in there name). Whitegates however have and are always spot on, you wont go wrong using them. Thank you to everyone there for the years of amazing service.

The communication was fantastic and Donna could not have done more to push progress and keep us in the loop. I only wish we had used them to sell our property also. Would highly recommend and would use them again when needed.

11th Aug 2026 (12 days ago)Updating our review as we’ve used Watsons again for both the sale of our old house and the purchase of our new one, and honestly, these guys are amazing!<br><br>Sarah and Laura in the sales team flooded us with viewings and worked hard to get our house sold.<br><br>Lucy, our sales progressor, was also fantastic. She kept us updated throughout, gave us really helpful advice and somehow managed to keep us calm when our buyer’s solicitor was uncooperative.<br><br>Couldn’t recommend Watsons enough and would definitely use them again!<br><br>House purchase back in 2017:<br>Above and beyond expectations.<br>Everyone knows house buying is never a smooth process and we had our hiccups but Sheree was always on hand to settle our nerves or give a few nudges to the parties involved! It’s good to see a small business smashing the market place.

1st Aug 2026 (22 days ago)We had heard that selling a house is a stressful experience. However we found that it isn’t, if GianFranco at Hortons is acting for you! From the initial contact we found GianFranco to be efficient, professional, proactive and thoroughly pleasant. He sold our property on the day of the first set of viewings and kept us informed all the way up to completion. I could not have scripted a more stress free experience myself. There should be a five star plus rating to do justice to excellence like GianFanco’s. Thank you on behalf of our family.

30th Jan 2026 (6 mo. ago)We chose Purple Bricks as they were the most responsive of 3 agents, pleasant to deal with and efficient. They were the lowest of the valuations but I believe it was priced to sell. We arranged the viewings ourselves but it was easy to do. The only gripe I have is that the person who was handling our sale changed and we weren't informed also when I phone there is sometimes a long wait. However the process on the whole has been efficient so far and we received an offer pretty quickly.
18th Aug 2026 (5 days ago)Had a great experience buying a property through Let Property. Sales process started with a tough negotiation and completion was pretty smooth. Picked up keys today and very happy with the purchase for the price I got it for - would 100% use them again for another purchase as they have a lot of good deals if you are looking to buy tenanted property.
