28th Feb 2020 (6 years ago)ARQ Homes Estate Agent was recommended to me to get a lettings valuation's appraisal for my house. Also, following the reading of good reviews from other people, I was confident and encouraged to make an appointment with ARQ Homes. I spoke with Abdul who invited me to his office, and made feel more than just a client, I felt like a guest in his ARQ estate agent. Abdul was very clear and concise covering all the details in order to give me an honest an accurate valuation appraisal. Abdul also used his valuable experience and knowledge in the housing market, in order to give me a good advice how to proceed with my plan for both potential lettings and sales of my property. Abdul's advice has definitely put me on the the right directions in order to achieve the best possible outcome in relation to my property. Thank you for being passionate and professional in this sector. I will definitely recommend Abdul of ARQ Homes to my friends and family. Mustafa
30th Sep 2024 (1 year ago)I STRONGLY RECOMMEND NOT SELLING A BUSINESS through them. They are dis-honest crooks using their small print to screw people. It's very clear from what they say and how they say it- that they do this to people all the time. During the dispute, every email comes back with a copy of the contract - with a cocky tone reinforcing their position, Whilst avoiding answering questions. Also, value your business yourself. They paint business of a similar nature with the same brush, without any regard for its added value. Like selling a car with lots of extras, low mileage and only 1 owner, for the same price as a car in much worse condition but with the same year of registration. They value it for a quick sale, but if your business is like mine, you can't build it for the price they want to sell it for - so where is the reward for goodwill? Take my advice and Market the business yourself, you will not regret it. I received a lot of solid leads from my adverts and Gilbert & Rose hadn't even arranged 1 solid lead in the same time period. You will be faced with some time wasters, but it's nothing a 5min call with them won't flag up, especially before wasting time on in-person meetings. If you sign up to any agency, make sure you pay the multi-agency fee in advance, and get a lawyer to read the contract. DON'T Risk sole agency, and don't believe them if they tell you that you can switch. That's what Gilbert & Rose have done to me. Pushed me into signing quickly, and assuring me I could switch. They then sat back and did nothing, and when i got pro-active, they want a piece of the cake. After notifying them I found someone thats shown interest - they notified me that if the deal goes through, they want their FULL commission, (for doing nothing!), even when I could prove without doubt that the lead could never have been generated from their advert. I'm now forced not to do a deal and I have to wait for them to find a buyer in 3 months, which will be a miracle if it happens, or wait for their contract to expire and re-market myself at an additional cost. Read online reviews and blogs about using business agents, they are not regulated and there are numerous complaints on how they have screwed over hard working people.

29th May 2020 (5 years ago)I have used the services of Carter Jonas in both Cambridge and Suffolk. They have repeatedly delivered excellent professional service when the markets have been both buoyant and not. They go the extra mile and are incredibly accommodating. I only once used another agent who over promised and then under delivered. I changed to Carter Jonas again (they were very gracious) as a result I had a buyer within days of the instruction.

We had Nick value our property and within the week we had not only sold ours but found and accepted offer on our dream forever home too. We had Gemma as our agent throughout and she couldn't have done any more for us if she tried, she made the stressful experience of moving house so much easier and helped us so much, from advise, to mediating between all the relevant parties, she was fantastic. 21st Feb 2022 (4 years ago)One star shouldn't be an option to describe the service me and my partner received. Absolutely terrible communication constantly having to chase for an update didn't even bother to let us know that the seller had gone with someone else. They did not handle us professionally at all and acted like they didn't care, constantly rushing us off the off.
5th Oct 2022 (3 years ago)We had a really bad experience with this estate agent, so beware. We had an offer accepted on a property, Jerome did the usual of taking our ID, proof of deposit, agreement in principle etc and confirmed acceptance. Three weeks later our solicitor raised our attention to the fact that the sellers solicitor had yet to issue draft contracts. After another week I finally got hold of Jerome who confirmed that the seller wouldn't issue the draft contract until we had a confirmed mortgage offer on the property. I told Jerome that wasn't the normal sequence we were familiar with, but he assured me that was how sales progressed in his experience. We went back to our solicitor who advised us that they would indeed normally wait for draft contracts to be issued before proceeding with searches and surveys etc. So we gave the sellers solicitor a deadline before we would reconsider the offer. On the day of the deadline the seller issued a race contract and advised us that there was another interested party who's offer had also been accepted and the seller would exchange with the party which secured a mortgage offer first. I don't know whether Jerome was aware that the seller had accepted multiple offers when we had our conversation, but my instinct at the time told me he wasn't being open and honest about the sellers intentions. So beware of this agent in case they try this with you.

I have been a tenant for five years with CHIDDICKS HOMES and Luke And he’s team have been amazing. They have treated me with kindness and respect and a pure delight to deal with I will really miss the team, especially Luke. I Highly recommend CHIDDICKS HOMES you won’t be disappointed
5th May 2025 (10 mo. ago)The staff were very friendly, but the house was listed more than the initial verbal valuation which we were surprised about. Our property was perfect for a first time buyer but no viewings fitted that brief.

They did it all in an instant. They found strong buyers and secured a full asking price offer in a few weeks. They were always available by phone and email and helped navigate what seemed impossible, a 7 week from sale to completion to ensure the mortgage needs of the bottom of the chain were met. I highly recommend them for any property sale or purchasing.
