2nd Mar 2019 (7 years ago)We are student at Durham University and we decided to rent a house. I called the estate agent and they agreed to send us the agreement and everything to rent this one house that we really liked. We were supposed to arrive a week later to submit the forms and pay deposit. When I got the papers, they confirmed with us that the house would be definitely be reserved for us. However, the morning we were supposed to hand in the papers, I got a short, badly articulated email saying that the property was no longer available and that we should look somewhere else. No explanation, nothing. We were angry because student accommodation is competitive and we lost so much time waiting for this house. Upon emailing them multiple times, they finally said that the previous tenants decided to stay for another year. Didn’t they confirm with the current tenants that they would be moving out? Why would they even list the house if that was an option? .Why send us the agreements and everything? They didn’t even bother trying to find us other options that we could stay at instead. All and all, I would never use this agent again because their service is absolutely terrible

When contacted, response was prompt.<br>On collection of the keys, I received a very smart box containing tea bags etc and treats. Such a thoughtful, practical gift for clients!

17th Aug 2026 (6 days ago)I lived here until recently (2026, Ground Floor). This accommodation was very quiet, private, and safe. I think it's especially well-suited for international visitors or students coming to the UK for the first time. The shared kitchen was never overcrowded or noisy, and the facilities were kept very clean. The property manager was very helpful with explanations, and their email responses were always clear and prompt. It stayed warm in the winter and didn't get too hot in the summer, so I highly recommend this place.

She was always easy to get hold of, kept me updated whenever there was any progress, and was happy to answer any questions I had. The purchase took longer than expected due to delays outside of her control, but she always chased things up for me and kept me informed. I really appreciated having someone I could just pick up the phone to whenever I needed

19th Feb 2026 (6 mo. ago)They offered advice on valuation that matched our expectations, they put it on the market at the value we wanted. We had viewings constantly whilst it was on the market. They advised us to keep taking viewings after offer accepted until we were sale agreed. This resulted in a higher bid, so it was worth it. 4th Aug 2026 (19 days ago)Anthony Hay at True Homes went above and beyond the call of duty in relation to this sale. The property had to be sold on the death of a family member but one of the beneficiaries to the estate of the deceased made selling the property exceptionally difficult as they did all they could to obstruct the sale while at the same time demanding their inheritance from the estate (the greater part of which was of course the property which they wished to remain in rent free). Anthony calmly remained patient and eventually we overcame the obstacles and achieved the sale.

Picked up keys today and very happy with the purchase for the price I got it for - would 100% use them again for another purchase as they have a lot of good deals if you are looking to buy tenanted property.
