8th Dec 2024 (1 year ago)We had a mixed experience with Preston Baker. We chose them for their reviews online and at first contact with the Doncaster office they were quick to reply and tried moving our sale along promptly. Then our agent suddenly stopped communicating and when we tried contacting them we found out she had left but no one informed us. This happened a couple of times. Our house was eventually assigned to Terry Burrows (Leeds office) and she was good to us. She took care of our sale for almost a year until the end, even after two potential buyers dropped off and issues with the house made our sale more complicated. Sadly by then the market had changed and we weren’t able to sell for the value we had hoped for. Not sure if I would recommend the Doncaster office. I would recommend Terry for sure. (Terry, if you are reading this thank you for persevering with us and for helping us get a decent price in a difficult selling process)

Emma made what can often be a stressful time feel smooth and straightforward. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and even after I had moved in, she went above and beyond to assist me with an additional matter. That level of care and support truly made a difference. Your Move has definitely been the best… spot on from start to finish. I would highly recommend them to anyone. Outstanding service all round! Thanks again.

6th Mar 2026 (12 days ago)We recently sold our property with the team and what is normally a very stressful time was made so easy and simple thanks to Elizabeth Cooke. Liz was a true standout and an amazing support network for us and our family, the service and dedication she gave us was fantastic. Weekly updates, check ins to see if we needed anything, helping us with our own questions, nothing was too much for her. I would highly recommend Richard Kendall and Liz especially, a true standout. Thank you so much for all your support
9th Mar 2026 (9 days ago)A speedy and professional job by Rod, Aaron and all the staff I dealt with Alexander Jacob. I'll try to keep this short; I had a small property for sale in Retford which had been rented for a while with another estate agent in town and I asked what they thought I could get on a sale and after an extensive discussion they suggested it be marketed at £80k and wouldn't budge on it. I was never going to accept this and a third party(thank you Shane!) suggested I speak with Rod, he told me £100k would be easily achievable and indicated a little work be done, which came to less than £1k and was arranged by AJ, and I sold for £110k. I'm not suggesting that this will be everyone's experience but Alexander Jacob clearly have a far, far better grip on how the local market is trending than some other estate agents in town.
18th Mar 2024 (1 year ago)DO NOT SELL YOUR BUSINESS THROUGH THIS COMPANY! READ THE SMALL PRINT This company are extremely aggressive and unprofessional. We advertised a business with them, paid an huge fee to advertise. Later after terminating, we agreed investment (not even a sale) from an investor we met directly, who was never introduced by Hilton Smythe. After accepting investment after terminating with Hilton Smythe they demanded their commission!! Totally unreasonable given it was after termination and the person who invested in our business was never known to or introduced by Hilton Smythe! They are now behaving aggressively and threatening legal action. We in turn have reported them to the ombudsman and trading standards. They are snake oil salesmen. DO NOT DEAL!- 24th Oct 2025 (21 weeks ago)Staff are very responsive during the whole process. Viewing staff was on time and nice. I completed the purchase with them. Happy to recommend to others
