29th Jan 2019 (7 years ago)Throughout a very long and complex sale with lots of issues and potential deal breakers, Richard kept us updated and encouraged. He was always prompt to reply to messages by phone or email. He was always honest and upfront, managing our expectations and delivering difficult news appropriately. With a different estate agent we might not have had the energy to see the sale through. Robert played a similar role throughout the initial part of our sale while we kept having to re-adjust the price in a very tricky market. These guys are the real deal, the opposite of a dodgy estate agent cliché, they know their stuff and genuinely care about their clients.

4th Jul 2025 (10 mo. ago)I’ve been a tenant with this agency for around 5 years now, and I can confidently say they are the best I’ve ever dealt with. From day one, they’ve always been professional, responsive, and genuinely caring. Lisa is absolutely amazing. She goes above and beyond to make sure everything runs smoothly and that tenants feel heard and looked after. Any issues I’ve had over the years have been addressed promptly and with real attention to detail. It’s rare to find a property management team that truly values both the property and the people living in it — but Lisa and her team really do. I feel lucky to be renting through them, and I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a reliable, trustworthy, and friendly agency.

3rd Nov 2025 (6 mo. ago)I am compelled to write this having just moved out of a property. Some of Johns and Co's practices are not only underhanded but illegal. They will try to take money out of your deposit for 'final bills' (eg. electrictiy), despite us having settled these ourselves. We lived in a property that started with a broken dishwasher (they were already aware of this prior to moving in) and a broken airconditioning unit which they did not fix in our entire tenancy. The bathroom was so poorly maintained that during the first week of us moving in the bathroom pipes leaked into the below neighbour's flat. The shower also continued leaking on to the bathroom floor every time it was used because of failure by the landlord and John's and Co to maintain the property. Additionally, we booked a move out cleaning to be done as we have a dog (which we paid additional monthly pet fees for) and we used their desired contractor. For a 1 bedroom and 1 bathroom flat to vacuum some dog hair they charged nearly £800 (it is a 500sq flat) and tried to claim that the upholstery was in a bad state. We had covers on all upholstery for our entire stay there. This upholstery was severely stained and marked when we moved in due to lack of cleaning and maintenance done by the landlord/ John's and Co. Do not rent through them if they are also managing the property and move out process.

I have no hesitation in recommending them. I would not have purchased my property without the encouragement, help and huge support from them. Use them when you can.

Our sale has been difficult for a variety of unforseen reasons but Wendy has led us through it with determination, along with great communication. She has kept both sides fully informed right from the beginning and ensured a good outcome through sheer hard work. I would derfinitely recommend Gibson Lane for buying or selling a property.

We viewed a property and were explicitly told by the agent that the house was ours and we could proceed with the rental. We started making plans and stopped looking at other places based on their word. ?However, shortly after, they went behind our backs and gave the house to someone else without a word of explanation. This level of dishonesty is appalling. ?To make matters worse, the stress and disappointment caused by this agency's lies literally made my mother sick. We spent time, energy, and hope on this, only to be treated like we didn't matter. They are unprofessional, untrustworthy, and have zero compassion for the families they deal with. If you want an agency that keeps its promises, look elsewhere."

3rd May 2026 (8 days ago)Phoned up on a Wednesday afternoon to view a property in Newcastle and was told that the only available slot was noon on the Friday. My husband and I rearranged another appointment, took the day off work and travelled the 1.5 hour journey to Newcastle (we explained at time of booking we weren’t local). 15 mins before scheduled time we got a phone call from the agent to say they hadn’t had a confirmation from the vendor but they were usually in. But guess what - agent turned up and couldn’t get access as there was no one there. Didn’t really apologise - just explained that they thought they had an offer but it fell through so they didn’t confirm our viewing. Totally unprofessional.

Jonathan was extremely helpful and showed a lot of patience, while all the time providing a professional service. Liaising and encouraging the solicitors, who weren't the most communicative, in order to keep the process moving. Going above and beyond in what proved to be be a protracted and difficult house sale. Thank you
