I was recommended to Bear by my mortgage broker. I was given an excellent sales pitch with my interest being piqued with a 'sales progressor'.
I was buying and selling through Bear so potentially more focus was on me due to 2 lots of commission pending.
During a viewing I raised concerns with Bear around elements which had been missed which were causing delays and information had not been checked by the sales progressor. The agent verbally agreed it was unacceptable, I wasn't the first to raise these issues and they would pass on my points.
I continued to get calls from the sales progressor which felt hassling as there was no new information, they werent chasing what was needed and the relationship began to break down. I sent an email with feedback to the same agent who I initially raised my concerns to who then completely dismissed my points. They were very defensive and it was a complete turnaround. We came to a decision I would change my sales progressor. The anxiety I was experiencing from dealing with the person alongside sorting out issues with the sale was too much.
Days later I was extremely perplexed when the same sales progressor continued to email me which increased to calls like nothing had happened.
I did not raise the issue again for it to be dismissed.
I was very clear in my feedback that my sale was in hand, I was onto my solicitor daily and had been all through the process. I did not need Bear contacting me with out of date information or no information. I advised Bear to keep an eye on other parties because I was more than capable of driving this sale / purchase like I had been all along. This message obviously didn't filter through as I continued to get calls. A waste of my time and the sales progressor.
The evidence suggests my points werent shared and totally dismissed.
Bear perhaps need to remember there are people who are capable to complete a sale and not to dismiss people's ability so quickly.
I did recommend them to my friend who also faced issues and went to another company.
I gave Bear the opportunity to rectify the issues but they didn't.
Very disappointing, I wouldn't use them again or recommend them. I paid for a service which I didnt feel I got and added to my stress!

The stand out person in the team , for me, was Megan . This girl is amazing ! At one point she was coordinating at least 4 solicitors, estate agents , and various buyers and sellers in a chain of 5 properties. I honestly don’t know if it would have all gone through without her determination to get the job done . Thank you Megan . You are a star!

Megan went above and beyond with the seemingly simple questions as well as the "official" ones which made no sense and just required simplifying. The team in the Leigh-on-Sea office were available 7 days a week, which I found to be very useful when selling our property through them, especially for those that wanted to book viewings on weekends outside of the normal working week, as some estate agents were closed on Sundays, we thought this was certainly a plus using Bear for our sale.
There was always a friendly greeting on the phone and relevant team members at all stages of the process responded when feedback was needed which was great. We found Megan to be very proactive with our sales progression, with constant communication back and forth and certainly seemed knowledgeable in her field and especially helpful on the day of our move! As others have pointed out, the branch manager Megan is absolutely abysmal and can only assume she got her communication training from an angry mute. Ignored calls into the office over the course of weeks and months. Occasionally got a snotty email with no useful information e.g. ‘we haven’t heard anything’ without any suggestion of intent to do something about it.
Customer service training needed urgently.
Director Tony is about the only person we spoke to that had any sort of nous and professionalism. Having just completed on a house purchase with another agent, Amos, it has been like night and day in terms of the communication and overall service received.

This review is to express my disappointment and frustration with the customer service provided by one of your agents, Megan, during our recent experience with Bear.
Last year, my husband and I purchased a property through Bear, and unfortunately, our experience was marred by a significant lack of communication and professionalism from Megan.
For approximately six weeks, despite numerous attempts to reach out via phone, email, and social media, we received no response from Megan. This prolonged period of unresponsiveness caused us immense stress and uncertainty, as we were left in the dark regarding the status of our purchase.
It was only after our estate agent, Jordan Evans in Kent intervened and lodged a complaint with Megan's superiors that we finally received a response. Regrettably, Megan's reply did not acknowledge her lack of communication or the distress it caused us; instead, she seemed to dismiss the issue entirely.
When we initially encountered Bear, Megan's charming demeanor during our visit to the office in Leigh led us to believe that we were in capable hands. However, her actions following the acceptance of our offer contradicted her assurance of being "with us every step of the way."
The six-week period of being ignored by Megan was undoubtedly one of the most stressful experiences I have ever endured, and it was entirely avoidable. We are still bewildered as to why Megan chose to disregard our attempts to contact her, especially considering the importance of clear communication during such a significant transaction.
While we understand that we cannot always choose the estate agent representing a property we wish to purchase, we certainly have the discretion to select an agency when selling our own property. Based on our negative experience with Bear and Megan's substandard customer service, we have no intention of entrusting our future property transactions to your agency.
I hope that this feedback prompts a reevaluation of the customer service standards within your company and ensures that other clients do not endure similar experiences in the future.

Excellent service from Bear.
Jack was extremely patient with us and valued our house at exactly the right price point, and then did a good job of the photos. We had a steady stream of people to view - into a house that I didn't think would get that - and everyone was interested in the accommodation and there were no time wasters. Fees were very reasonable, and no requirement to have a board up outside.
Buying, which we also did through Bear, was similarly excellent, and the team were always careful to listen to what we wanted and didn't push properties that didn't match our requirements.
Can't fault them, and would use them again (although I'm rather hoping not to have to move again!). Highly recommended.

Very disappointed with Bear branch manager and director. Sale fell through and I haven’t been informed for 4 weeks until my solicitors figured this out. Wouldn’t use this agency again. Should of made an official claim but couldn’t be bothered to waste more of my energy.

Recently bought a house through Bear in Hadleigh, and I have to say Bear - Megan Carmichael is a keeper! Do not lose her!! She really went above and beyond to keep the sale moving, going above and beyond by offering to drive to the vendor's house to collect signed contracts and hand deliver to the solicitors. I knew everything was in safe hands with Megan. When we come to sell our old house next year, we will definately be using Bear!

We could not fault Bear Estate Agents in Leigh On Sea, Essex enough.
We dealt with Megan Carmichael and the service she provided was beyond amazing.
Communication was 5 star, her work rate was 10 out of 5 star. There was nothing we could find to fault her.
No matter what time of the day we’d ring, we always managed to speak to Megan straight away, and she helped us through the whole process.

This branch is seriously lacking professionalism. Arranged a viewing for a property which is located in a different city to where I am based. Everything was confirmed via email at least twice. Arrived on time to the property to only find out that the seller had no idea someone is coming to view the place. Apparently no one even contacted her. Could not see the place, which means I wasted hours of getting there and back + train fare for literally nothing. Sent an email to the agent I was dealing with from this branch. Not even an apologetic email back, let alone suggesting an alternative viewing slot. Complete silence. Probably the worst treatment I ever had.

All staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Our experience however was mixed…
They needed a bit of a nudge to get us viewings but when at viewings, were positive about our property and really helped those viewing see the potential. Our first offer fell through because the agent didn’t check the buyers situation and chain before we accepted their offer so we had to go back on the market and had a lot of anxiety of selling within the timeframe we had available but credit to them, they got us more viewings and got us sold (for a second time!).
They were very keen for us to drop our price after 3 weeks of being on the market which made us question their original valuation.
