This is the second review I’m leaving today for Ellisons, the first was for the Morden branch as they had dealt with my father in laws property, and yes it was a glowing review, this one is for Aidan Purnell, now manager of the Wimbledon branch.Aidan was the reason we chose Ellisons to handle the sale, from the first meeting he proved how knowledgeable and informed he was about our property and those in the surrounding area.
We called and emailed many times, during the process, it was never an issue with him and he always put our needs and concerns first.
I know he will do an amazing job at the Wimbledon branch, they are in fantastic hands, I also can thoroughly recommend Ellisons to do the job you ask of them, in my opinion they are the best Estate Agents in South West London

Booked a viewing for a property in Colliers Wood, but when the sellers changed availability the agent made no effort to suggest alternative times. Instead, she was rude and repeatedly suggested I should just drop the viewing altogether. This lack of professionalism helps neither buyers nor sellers and risks losing genuine interest in the property. An approach like this risks losing potential buyers and does not reflect well on the service sellers would expect

A positive experience on the whole, good communication and also handover/cross cover between team members if a team member away. A couple of bits of important information incorrect on initial (and second) viewing of the purchased property but they later clarified and confirmed this. Very friendly team.

We’ve had a very positive experience with Ellisons with us just having exchanged on a property earlier this month.
We’ve spend the better part of the last year viewing houses with Aidan in the South Park Gardens area and with every viewing we came away with something new (in terms of knowledge and understanding of the trade-offs you inevitably face as a buyer).
Ultimately, we found a property we really liked through them and Aidan did a very good job managing the relationship between us and the sellers as a middle man.

I recently purchased in the area and was assisted by Ellions estate agents.
I primarily worked with Mahul who was absolutely amazing. He was very efficient at coordinating communication between several parties. In my case, the transaction was not a straighforward one and without Mahul's assistance could have easily dragged on a month or two. I was very impressed by his performance as an agent.
Ellisons as an estate agency as great and this is from the perspective of someone who prettu much worked with all big name estate agencies (I attempted to purchase 8 times????). My only regret is I wish I had gotten the opportunity to work with them sooner. I know people generally do not have good things to say about EAs but in my experience the EAs here are genuine, efficient and sympathetic. You actually have that feeling of we are working together on this.

Firstly, the lovely tenants they have placed in the house must be a delight for the landlord. Genuinely wonderful family, taking great care of the property. Secondly, due to some bad weather, the fence in-between our houses was destroyed. Thank you to Joanne, in the property management team, who had a team at the house within 24 hours of my call. An additional thanks goes to Alex and Francisco who came and replaced the fence, cleared all their rubbish and were a credit to the landlord and Ellisons. Great service from all involved - thank you.

Lewis was the agent managing our purchase and was very helpful and professional throughout despite many difficulties and miscommunications lower down our chain. He helped to communicate clearly with the vendors and to ensure that everything got over the line. He also helpfully arranged for a surveyor and electrician to attend. Compared to our interactions with our own estate agents (Sterlings) and those further down the chain (Sterling Ackroyd), Ellisons were on another level (FAR SUPERIOR!).

Phoned Friday regarding a property, was told it was available and I could get a viewing on Monday. I told the woman on the phone if anyone else is interested, phone me and I will put a deposit down to secure it. Phoned Monday morning was told I will get a viewing at mid day. Phoned Back on midday regarding my missed appointment and was told the property has been took and she informed me by email. No email had been sent and no phone call to secure the property as promised. Joke.

I decided to use Ellison's for a recent property sale based on recommendation, reviews and gut instinct and I wasn't disappointed.
Right from the start their professionalism, experience and knowledge of the area and the current market shone through, quickly building my trust and confidence in their abilities. I was more than happy to let them "get on with it" and was proved right as the property sold at it's first viewing weekend !!!
Alongside this they were very friendly and approachable, always on top of everything, making the whole process completely stress free and almost enjoyable !!!

I’m a Central London estate agent of 20 years (*cue boos!*) so understand what good (and bad) agency looks like…They’d been recommended by fellow agents. Ellisons were faultless. Sam and Andrew in particular.
They were candid with their pricing advice, impressive with their track record and, importantly, extremely likeable (Sam in particular just ‘gets it’).
In a nutshell, they sold our house in a day!.. They proactively tee’d up a weekend of viewings (before we even came live) and had asking price on Monday morning. If only it always went like that!
Agreeing a sale is never ‘easy’ but it is the start of the process. They demonstrated their skill and ability and every twist and turn.

Although the conveyancing process was long winded and a bit protracted we had a really positive experience when dealing with Lewis Haldane at Ellison's. We initially saw the property we wanted and Lewis was really helpful; he worked hard to try and ensure we could secure the property that fitted our criteria. Lewis kept us up to date throughout the process and was so efficient when communicating with the vendor, our conveyancing team and the vendors solicitors. He always appeared happy to go the extra mile. We had a dealing with a more senior member of the team, who was not on the same wavelength as ourselves- so we are really happy that we dealt with Lewis who worked towards the mutually agreeable end point. Overall, the purchase was a stressful experience (they do say moving house is a stressful life event) but dealing with the team at Ellison's estate agent was a great experience. Thank you!

They have been great. I used them to sell a flat and I was really impressed, really helpful, replied to emails and calls quickly. Lewis and Aidan was great, provided good advice and went over and above, even popping by to do metre readings and to check on the property weekly. I also used Ellisons to rent out the flat for a number of years and stayed with them, even though they were not the cheapest because I felt confident that they would deal prompty with any tenants queries or issues and update me with any legislative changes to make sure that I was acting in accordance with the law. I found them brilliant. I hope that my tenants did too. Any issues with the flat were either dealt with promptly or notified to me quickly so that I could react appropriately. Very poor customer service, communication and expectation handling.
I called in on Saturday to arrange a viewing on a property for sale. Spoke to Assistant Branch Manger Sam Lloyd. I was informed I was penciled in for a viewing at 10am on Tuesday but I would receive a call back to confirm. No call back.
On Monday morning I called back to follow up. Spoke to another member of staff and was informed the property might now be under offer and viewings may not be possible. I was informed I would receive a call back to confirm. No call back.
I called back again on Tuesday and spoke to a 3rd member of staff. Informed the property was now under offer. When I recounted the timeline, the gentleman was apologetic and helpful and offered me another property coming up for sale. He said he would email me his details so I could let him know if interested. No Email.
Today I received an email confirming a viewing on this new property I had not requested. I emailed in my feedback concerning my experience and received an email back from Sam Lloyd explaining:
'I'm sorry that you feel that communication wasn't as you had expected but we have been incredibly busy'.
I will be avoiding Ellisons - if they cannot communicate or maintain basic expectations, how will they cope with a property sale?

Really bad experience while trying to view a property for sale. When we met the agent outside of the property, they realised that they didn't have the keys of the property. Waiting 20 minutes outside for someone to bring the keys, brought wrong keys. Rescheduled for two hours later, they called us 2 minutes before the scheduled time, while we were almost for a second time in front of the property, to cancel the viewing since they couldn't get the keys. They genuinely apologised and promised to send as an email to reschedule the viewing. Email never received. I am surprised with this experience since the majority of the reviews seems to be positive but after that I am not planning to contact them again.

Tenants beware, and landlords please consider a more thoughtful and ethically upstanding letting agent. I along with my three housemates lived in a managed property by Ellison's Wimbledon for two years. Throughout this period Ellison's provided terrible service demonstrated through many failings, from presenting the property in very poor condition at check in (garden overgrown, bins full and walls not repainted as promised), to leaving us without a working oven for 6 months, to name just two of many failings. Following a poor tenancy, Ellison's also had the audacity to try to sting us with a ridiculous, and frankly fraudulent, charge at check out. Thankfully this was overturned by the Tenancy Deposit Scheme (see attached photos of the decision statement). This is reflective of a wider problem in the sector whereby renters have improper protection from such cowboy letting agents/landlords. Don't take the risk. Go with a different agent/landlord.

I would rate Ellisons as a great estate agent. I bought my house through them and then sold through them eight years later. They’ve also been very helpful over the years in advising how much value building work would add and quotes at various points when I’ve considered selling. Their local knowledge is very good. They are incredibly professional. They give full updates on viewings - an app showing how many Right Move views, how many viewings, what the feedback was plus a phone call with feedback after each viewing. I’d say the photos taken weren’t as good as ones taken by other agents which was a shame. However, the level of contact I had from them was way better than other agents. It took a while to get an offer on my property but their support in exchange and completion was brilliant.

It seems off that you have reviews showing homes have been sold 'quickly' and yet ours hasn't sold. My partner and I have changed agents recently because we only had two viewings the entire three months we have advertised with ellisons. We have had several viewings with our new agent since. hmmmm

If only I could give it minus stars. Their Facebook reviews and rate of 3.8 says it all. And I'm sure the reviews on Google are 100% fake. Seems like their friends are leaving reviews and 5* ratings and named mentions for people at their office. It's laughable! My personal experience: Abysmal service. Inflated rates for sellers. Actually argumentative, condescending and lack of respect over the telephone when we are simply asking **why** they charge x amount, very defensive and extremely unprofessional. Clearly the impact of houses in Wimbledon not selling as well and as fast as before is touching their nerves! May be buyers now were once renters who had a poor experience with them?? Just looking at their poor reviews on Google says a lot about this. I will be going somewhere else for better service and BETTER communication. To think thousands of pounds from a sale would go to these people. I cannot trust this service with such unprofessionalism to be showing potential buyers around my home! And of course, the company will reply acting like they don't know who I am when I already sent a complaint! Quoting in your response below that you were "awarded" as one of the "top" estate agents in the country doesn't say much about you considering estate agency is one of the worst professions in the UK known for scamming and ripping people off with zero qualifications! ON top of that being awarded by a bunch of estate agencies says even less about you.

They have definatley helped take the stress out of the biggest financial decisions that we have made. They are able to use their experience to balance the legal formality of dealing with a house sale with creative thinking to move the process forward when the inevitable kinks in the process present themselves.
The last sale was very difficult as it took place just as the country began to lock down. The initial buyer pulled out as they could not sell their property in the chain. When the lock down occured, Ellisons were back up and running within 48 hours with reassurances that we would try and press ahead. Andrew from Ellisons, now working from home, came back with some potential buyers. As they were unable to show properties we agreed a workaround and I let the buyers in to view the vacant property myself. When the solicitors started to argue (as they always do!) Andrew worked overtime to ensure that both I, as seller, and the buyers were kept in the loop.
Everyone was under a great deal of stress but Andrew and the other members of the sales team always kept their good humour, always gave good and clear advice and always remained completely professional. They made a difficult situation bearable.

I have to say that this estate agent is not responsive, does not record calls from prospective buyers, nor can it provide any information on properties of interest. They don't respond to calls from serious buyers. Apparently, everyone is out the office for several days and does not call back.

We recently bought a house, the second house we’d looked at, which we had fallen in love with the moment we saw it. Sam Lloyd was the vendor’s agent at Ellisons and we warmed to him immediately. We called him after the viewing to say we wanted the house and he told us in plain English what we’d need to do to get it. We subsequently set about doing so and with Sam’s help were successful. Sam then proved to be worth his weight in gold at every step of the purchase, and in fact our own sale which was not his responsibility. With a very jumpy buyer on our property our own estate agents had their work cut out, but it was Sam who gave us tips to keep things moving quickly and manage expectations, and drew on his wealth of knowledge and experience to reassure and guide us when our own advisers fell short. Bring into the mix some highly incompetent solicitors and things became very fraught. Sam managed to appease our vendors (and thankfully they were incredibly easy-going) whilst helping to keep things together on our side chasing solicitors and keeping in touch with our own estate agents. We were told some blatant (and serious) mistruths by various of our advisers and at each stage Sam was on hand to help us get to the bottom of things. He is widely knowledgable, a true professional and, dare I say it, not your stereotypical estate agent type. He’s also a bloody nice guy. Our only regret is that we didn’t instruct Sam on our own sale, but should we ever sell again we will be looking him up.

The estate agency is very good at letting. We were tenants for two years before we moved up north for work. Every emergency was taken care of and all commitments for renovating and clearing done timely.
We had emergency response when a pipe leaked excessively and when the boiler finally broke down. Which made us think that these agents are the right choice if we were landlords. Which we are now, alas they only work in Wimbledon area where we did not buy. The check in and check out are detailed and all maintenance items are taken care of, a decorator takes care of any in minor alterations that need to be made.
Joanne, was phenomenal for getting our property issues resolved and took ownership for a lot of other issues that neither fell here or there and these eventually got resolved.
Louisa helped with our contracts and Jenny was amazing for managing a great team, managing our last month and sorting out our additional paperwork as we checked out.
All in all, these are the second high quality estate agency I have come across in 8 years,
I only wish they would expand their services to cover the rest of London and other cities.

Aidan from Ellisons Wimbledon is simply fab. He single handedly held our transaction and the whole chain together. We went with Andrew @Ellisons over other agents not because he gave the highest valuation of our property (he gave the lowest in fact) but because he gave the most straight forward and honest appraisal of the market, and our position within it. We actually bought as well as sold through Ellisons, and Andrew, Fergus and Martin were all very helpful and communicative throughout the process, making sure that there was continual momentum throughout our chain. Even when our buyer pulled out, they found a replacement within a fortnight, in order to keep things pressing forward. We appreciated their guidance and input throughout the process, and would recommend Ellisons to anyone looking to sell in the Wimbledon area.

Don't rent a property managed by Ellisons. They don't care at all about the properties or the tenants. We had multiple issues with our property when we moved in which took over a month to fix. Despite marketing themselves as a premium estate agents, the 1 bed flat we rented was terrible and needs to be completely renovated. We were forced to steam clean a heavily stained carpet that was 20 years old, were left without a fridge and oven for 2 weeks, as well as other basic maintenance issues which weren't rectified e.g. Mould in the bathroom when we moved in, dirty fixtures, broken sliding wardrobe doors, broken drawers. The property was marketed with all the landlords dilapidated fixtures hidden in the loft and when we asked for them to be removed when we discovered them when we moved in we were told no. Everything is always a battle with these people, especially getting our deposit back. In the end, after being threatened multiple times with arbitration, we gave up and agreed. Even if you find your dream place, do not rent a property managed by Ellisons.
