Brilliant kept us updated on everything, answered all my questions without judgement even let me cry when I handed the keys over (bit of a shock to be honest) they even picked the sale board up before we left unlike the one thats still in our new garden, would definitely recommend them not that I am ever moving again ????

Our experience with this letting agency was extremely disappointing. After our application was accepted and the holding deposit paid, we were told we had to move in the day after the previous tenants moved out and accept the property in whatever condition it was left in. When we asked for the lease agreement so we could give proper notice to our current landlord, they falsely claimed they couldn’t issue it more than three weeks in advance but still advised us to give notice anyway.
The following week, they changed the proposed move-in date to sometime in early January without giving a firm date and remained vague about the situation throughout. Two weeks passed with no contract and no confirmed move-in date, so we informed them we were keeping the application open but reserved the right to withdraw and receive a refund if needed. We also clarified that we would not accept the property in whatever condition it was left in.
Despite these reasonable and entirely standard requests, the agency abruptly withdrew our application. Altogether, the process felt disorganised, misleading, and highly stressful. I would not recommend this agency based on our experience.

Very poor comunication on the progress of the sale , I received 3 emails in the space of four months , had to call myself to get updates. The cost was high which did not reflect with the poor quality of the service received.

AMAZING!!! The whole team just made it a walk in the park! As soon as it was on the market had a load of viewings, Our house had two offers put in on the first week! Luke and Jamie were outstanding managed to get us a full asking price offer within the first week of it being on the market! Everyone in the team was AMAZING! Danielle and Rebecca dealt with the admin and made the sale a breeze from start to finsh would 100 percent recommend!!!

Wasted my time for two weeks for a property, did not let me know about the outcome even after many calls telling me more than once "the colleague working on this is out at the moment".
If I wouldn't have found another property to move in I would have been homeless, I understand the market it's competitive but some transparency would be appreciated.

I should have read reviews prior to using this company . They seemed amazing in the beginning with the initial tenancy agreement etc. In November 2024 we contacted them about renewing our tenancy and were told we were offered another year. My husband called multiple times requesting the new lease and they kept having excuses as to why it wasn't available to sign. Finally, mid January 2025 they called us saying nevermind the owners got orders back so are moving in. We are thinking they knew this information the entire time and waited until our lease was two weeks from being up to notify us. They were now offering a new lease of 6 months until the owners arrived. I requested to go month to month which was denied even though our original lease stated 12 months then month to month after. Every inspection we had we were told everything was good. We inquired about black mould growth and advice on what we were supposed to do. They told us we were doing everything right. Now fast forward to now. They are essentially trying to keep the whole deposit. Though some things we do agree with and expected to not get the entire thing back but we are definitely being taken advantage of. Best advice I can give if you choose to use this company is to report everything to them and have documentation that you did, not just phone calls. The letting agency is definitely not there to help you as a tenant so take their advice lightly.

WARNING! Avoid at all costs.
There's are some good letting agents in Lincoln unfortunately my experience with Martin and co was terrible. The staff are rude and unprofessional and blatantly lie to try to steal their tenants deposits as can be seen by their reviews (72% giving a 1 star review) for the company as a whole! Companies that routinely try to steal from their tenants, some of whom are vulnerable and/or cannot afford to wait many weeks to get the DPS to step in and act on their behalf, should be outed.

Contacted lettings regarding arranging a viewing. The receptionist was not very pleasant and was abrupt. She arranged a time for a viewing and then asked for me for details if I match a potential tenants criteria. Some of the questions were relevant but others like how old my cat is & if it stays in or goes out were ridiculous. As we are both pensioners she said we don't pass the criteria financially so suggested a guarantor. I said I can pay the full contract term up in one sum out of my savings. She said that is not possible as it would alter the contract. Her attitude was getting more surly especially when I said I will have to inform my family member first before putting them forward as a guarantor.
I went off the phone to do this but not happy the way I was being treated. Within half an hour I phoned back to be answered by another abrupt person who claimed to be the manager and said in off-hand fashion the let has gone hours ago. Well why was they going to arrange a viewing that afternoon? The manner she said it aroused suspicion it was a lie. So beware and be forewarned if you are considering dealing with this office.

The service and help I received from everyone in Martin and Co at the Forum was exceptional, all the staff went above and beyond for me to get into my rental property Danielle made it happen and from the Rebecca was so helpful, the first lady I saw I can't remember her name understood my predicament and was awesome I think it's Mrs Climpson anyway I still need to drop in biscuits and chocolates as a thank you.

Had a really good experience with the company and the agent that handled the selling of my property. Approachable and friendly, quick to value and create a brochure. I wasn’t happy with one or two of the pictures so submitted new ones which were accepted and it was amended no issues. The place sold super quick so I can only imagine that the viewings were conducted with the same level of professionalism. I would recommend this company.

From the viewing, to referencing and moving in day, Rebecca was always on hand and even though some parts of the process took longer than we all expected due to our circumstances, we never felt rushed and always felt supported by the team the whole way. Me and my partner recently moved into our first rental with the help of Rebecca Hayes. From start to finish she was very professional and helped answer any questions we had, which was a lot! Nothing was too much effort which made the whole process very easy and she got us in our home on a day that suited us. She continues to be helpful even after the handover of the keys. Brilliant service from Martin & Co but especially Rebecca, we will definitely be advising people to go there in the future.

My house purchase was trickier than the norm and it would have probably been a whole lot more difficult if it wasn't for Danielle from Martin & Co. She was actually working on the seller's behalf but always went over and above and did everything she could to keep me informed and move things along, unlike my solicitors, who I was actually paying - to do very little!
I have been in my beautiful property for just over a year now and have no intention of ever moving again, however, I would have no hesitation in recommending the services of Martin & Co.

A bit disappointed to be honest.
I rang them to change the date of my house inspection as I wasn’t going to be home, they rang me back and agreed on the day I told them I’d be home. Next thing I know, they’ve come on the original date when I wasn’t home, and I only found out by ringing them on the day they were meant to come as I was waiting for them. I had all my washing up including the girlie stuff, and they’ve seen that now and I feel like my privacy has been invaded.
Apparently I didn’t ring them to change the date, when I did because I remember doing it at work. No matter how many times I email them about an issue in the house, I get no replies.
I’ve emailed before about the amount of cold drafts coming through my windows, making my house very very cold, and they do nothing.

Unfortunately just another Letting company taking money off tenants. Rented for 2 years and can't say anyone I was in contact with was approachable or willing to side with a tenant.
Really disappointed with my time with them, no better than the student rental companies taking advantage of them.

Twice we had no 24hr notice before entering. Took several months to fix "non-urgent" issues (major draughts, cracked bath), so long that we gave up on reporting them.
A broken heating element burnt off the oven wiring and we were told to just turn it off when not in use (fire hazard).
If you're renting, please learn your rights so that you're not exploited, report everything and nag if things aren't fixed. A lot of these positive reviews are from sellers, landlords and the owners.

Shocking. After several months, and doing everything advised, only one set of buyers viewed the property. Took a large hit on price to get the deal. Then.... nothing. We were so unimpressed we disinstructed them. Over the next 9 months, while the buyers struggled to sell their own property, we kept contact with them, monitored progress and built a rapport. Not one single call from Martins. They only took any interest in contacting our solicitors when they realised WE'D mananged to close the deal ourselves and were close to completion. Then, of course, they wanted their money.

Very dismissive and unhelpful when asking about modern auction property on their website. I was so annoyed I cancelled viewings with them, won't bother going to them again. Using Pygott & Crone who are much more professional and helpful.

So I was given information for a property, a friend had viewed it, told me to ring up as we needed to move before our tenancy was up. Spoke to Imogen twice, was told that she would speak to the landlord and 'ring me back' when she had spoken to her, yet that was nearly 3 weeks ago, no phone call, no communication, so stay away from these people cos they aren't good at all

Me and my partner went to see a student friendly house ("Student Friendly" was in the description and in the photos- as a blue banner across the far right corner) and we made it clear that we were both full time students with a very young child.
We were greeted by a guy named Luke and everything went very well, it was pretty much the house we wanted. However when I phoned them up to pay the application fees I was told by Luke that referencing won't pass as me and my partner earn Student Finance "only" and are students... I find this quite ridiculous as we both earn benefits and both of our independent student finances together make it quite easy to afford the house.
I then asked Luke why we cant use a guarantor for referencing like any other estate agent company and he then said that their referencing company doesn't allow that. Well I was incredibly shocked and disappointed by this as we weren't expecting to be turned down for a student friendly house being students.
On a positive note, since this review I have been sent a personal email from Luke, and I would like to add that this negative review has no reflection whatsoever upon customer service and after care. Luke was polite, friendly and approachable and was happy to answer any questions we had regarding the property. It was as previously stated a fault on behalf of their referencing company.
However I hope the advert will soon be rectified.

If I have any issues they are quick to rectify it with little or no disruption whatsoever, and are always friendly when I speak to them, either in person or on the phone. All in all a great company.

I use Martin & Co to manage my property and the service is excellent. Everyone in the team is very helpful and friendly. I mainly deal with Luke who is very professional, gives accurate and appropriate advice and communicates information and updates regarding tenants quickly. I have used Martin & Co for nearly a year now as a landlord. In this time, they have found tenants for three properties for me, on each occasion very quickly but most importantly I am delighted with the judgement used to recommend the tenants they do - who I am very happy to have in my properties and take care of them!
Everyone I deal with at Martin & Co are so helpful and really go the extra mile for me, I deal with Luke mainly who has given me excellent advice and been a great help to me.
