Emily stayed in great communication with us throughout the rental process and was always at the other end of the phone/computer when needed no matter how big or small the issues where. I do have an issue with how to contact my landlord in emergency situations ie pipe burst ect. With the shop only being open in the day time and closed on Sunday there's no way of resolving issues efficiently out of shop open hours. Partly the seller, partly the agent, but buying the house was such a nightmare from this combo. The process started in early April. Neither the seller nor the agent could seem to grasp the concept that I was buying the freehold for the entire building, but half the building had been previously leaseholded out. They kept implying that since I would only be living in one half of the building the other parts should be irrelevant to me, when that simply is not the case. I would be legally responsible for the entire building and therefore needed additional legal work and surveying work done as a result. This meant month-long delays where there was just radio silence and I would have to chase their side up for relevant paperwork: such as the leasehold documents, which neither the agent nor the seller seemed to think I needed, despite that I was about to become the new landlord of that leasehold. My solicitor kept me updated almost immediately of any new developments (or weekly if there was none) without prompting, she or I nearly always had to prompt their side to respond or update me or her. I did occasionally get emails from this agent asking how everything was going, but usually the answer was 'pretty poorly' and the agent didn't really seem to be doing a lot to actually resolve any of it because they didn't understand the freehold and leasehold situation. In fact, in some instances they actually made things a lot worse. At one point, the agent passed a direct email on from me to the seller, with my permission, once the surveyor came back with some bad news, but then forwarded back directly the very angry reply from the seller without filtering it which was an odd choice in order to keep negotiations going smoothly. If not for the delays, I would have been totally ready to complete by mid-May. Instead, because of delays due to the misunderstanding from the seller and agent as to what was actually being sold, and multiple lies told by the seller, we ended up completing in late August. So we lost all that time to do the serious renovations that the property needed in the summer. I also genuinely thought the seller was going to pull out of the sale multiple times and the agent didn't seem to disagree with that, so it was a really painful wait. I even started searching for properties again at one point even after knowing I'd have to pay the full solicitor fees by then to start again because it really seemed like it was about to fall apart by the next email. The agent also hadn't done a floorplan which would have been really helpful to start pre-emptively getting some quotes in, and they didn't offer to do one even when I called up and asked when yet another delay came up. Finally, the North-South divide is still alive and well in this office, see this direct quote from one of the agent's emails: "I believe as your solicitor is not based local to the north east she does not have the understanding of what some properties in the north are like." Yeah, because an estate agent definitely knows more about English housing law than a Chartered Legal Executive. Unreal.... Read more

This Estate Agent in Morpeth blatantly lie to profiteer from keeping tenants whole deposits! They are denying knowledge of former damage to the property and of a maintenance woman coming to the flat to go over our concerns and hiring a plumber because we were so concerned bath damage would cause a leak to the downstairs cafe! I have reported them to my local MP Shelter and The Guardian and am awaiting an interview with a journalist! Absolutely superb service from the Mike Rogerson Bedlington . There remit was to find me a reliable tenant for my rental property as my own judgement from previous attempts was at best poor . The process was handled perfectly by the team and a tenant we both felt fitted the bill was interviewed , checked and vetted and installed in the property. During the process I received numerous calls and emails updating me on how things where going along which I really liked. Friendly service we enquired about a property at the beginning of august after looking for over a year with Mike Rogerson we had finally found the property for us. From viewing it to providing everything needed was smooth and easy! Terrible company, never answer emails or phone calls, on one occasion the bedlington branch arranged a viewing and on the day didn't turn up, when we rang asking where they were and they did answer on this occasion and said they didn't have the key but no apology for this at all having rearranged our day to do this. They have several flats and no keys for any bar one, that one we did look at was disgusting. Dirty skid Marks on toilet.
