A completely laughable experience from start to finish.
We received an email from the branch manager confirming that our offer on a property had been accepted. Naturally, we informed our solicitor and started moving things forward. Then, out of nowhere, Oli called to tell us the offer had never been accepted and that a higher offer had been taken instead — without giving us any opportunity to increase ours.
To make matters worse, they then lied to the seller who we have been in contact with - claiming they had never told us our offer was accepted. Unfortunately for them, email trails exist, even if Pygott & Crone don’t seem to understand that.
I would strongly advise anyone to avoid this estate agent. They are more than happy to lie to both sides to cover their own mistakes, and the lack of professionalism is staggering.

I would highly recommend Pygott & Crone Estate Agents. Although they weren't the agents selling my property, Alisha was my contact regarding my purchase, and she was superb from the start. Communication between solicitors was variable, but she kept me in the loop with progress wherever possible and gave me lots of good advice. This was my second experience with Pygott & Crone. I bought a house they were selling several years ago and so when it came to selling my late parents house I chose to use them for that. Danny Cook came to value it and from there, once an offer was made and accepted, the process was overseen by my sale progressor Alisha. I am thankful for Alisha's patience and understanding. She is quick to respond to any issues and soothe any worries or anxiety when things get a bit frustrating. I could not have gone through it all without her guidance and calming influence. When you phone them to arrange a viewing, they always say that someone else is dealing with the property in question. One then has to wait 2/3 days before they get back to you in order to arrange a viewing. It is worse with accompanied viewings, as they keep you waiting to see if they can drum up some more interest so that Pygott & Crone can arrange for a number of interested parties to turn up to the property at once.
The conclusion is that getting a viewing appointment with this lot is like jumping over a number of hoops before the option of having a viewing appointment becomes available. In my opinion, I call this gross manipulation.
Update: I requested a viewing exactly 13 days ago. Still waiting to get a viewing on a property which requires accompanied viewing. You sometimes wonder whether they want to sell to one of their cronies. Oh well, I'm glad that I'm not selling with this shower of a company.

We got in touch with Pygott & Crone following seeing a house we wanted to view. Edward called back on the same day and booked us in for when we were next available. We then became available before so rung back up to change the date and they were really flexible and got us in earlier. Edward has been incredible to speak to, he’s been informative and has offered us other properties to look at which met our requirements. He was prompt booking the viewings in and answering any questions. Emily was very helpful in providing answers to questions I had about a property which assisted us in making an offer. Emma was an absolute delight showing us round, she was very informative, friendly and polite. She put our offer in straight away and Edward handled the negotiations incredibly well. We have been working with Alisha for a couple of weeks from Pygott & Crone as she has been our go-between on behalf of the sellers for the property we’re purchasing. Alisha has been really helpful throughout the process replying to emails quickly and updating us every week on what was outstanding. She has managed to maintain this level of communication despite how busy she is and we are really grateful for how attentive she has been with us throughout the process. Towards the end of the process, she made sure we were well aware of if there would be any hiccups and kept us updated for the eventual completion date.
We genuinely couldn’t be happier with the response we’ve received from all the staff we’ve worked with at Pygott & Crone but especially Alisha, Ed, Emily & Emma. They have made the whole process amazing from start to finish. I’d easily recommend working with any of them.

I found a brand new build property through Pygott & Crone after myself and my partner were let down by another seller at the stage of completion. With me being 6 months pregnant we advised that we need things done as quick as possible, Charlotte mountain has been absolutely amazing through beginning to end, and making sure we were first to view the property we have now purchased when it came back onto the market and was kind enough to reserve it for us until we completed our financial assessment.
She has been very quick at replying to all emails and questions and that reassured us a lot. We highly recommend her especially if you are a first time buyer and not sure where to start!

I today tried to obtain a brochure for on of pygott and crones properties I spoke to Charlotte in the Lincoln office and was told I could only have a brochure of I went into their office to pick one up as they wouldn't send one out via the post , so that's a potential sale lost for the price of a stamp , I won't be sellingy house though them if that's how they conduct business and would advise others to steer clear too howuch is a stamp theses days ? Against their huge commission charged ?

Overall, showed a lack of interest. No continuity between agents, customers and viewers. Not all customers are computer literate, hence they rely on direct contact between themselves and agents, of which there was very little.

3.8!! Not surprised, they deserve 1 star rating or less.
Unfortunately I happen to hand over sale of my home to them, still with them. Now I am not surprised y they have got 3.8 review compared to all other high street agents who have an average review of 4.8.
They have just advertised 12 photos of my home, which doesn’t showcase my home at all properly , and I repeatedly requested them to have new EPC not the one when I bought the home 8 years ago, but even after speaking to them since the advertisement went online many times, they haven’t changed the EPC or updated photos as I requested, just show my home as it supposed to be.
I am not getting any call back as I requested and supposed, and after 2 days of requesting to upload more photos, detailed descriptions and ECP, nothing has been done and no one has contacted me yet!!!!!!
Do they even care anything about customer care and courtesy?
Do they really want to make any selling happen?
I am really surprised and shocked?
I am going to contact my solicitor about taking some actions against them.!!

We used P&C to sell our house in spring 2024. Although our initial experience was ok (we got an offer relatively quickly), it was downhill from there. Once we were passed over to the selling negotiation team, it was clear they weren't working for us - they only wanted to complete the sale asap. From start to finish, it felt like they were working for the buyer.
Would not recommend using P&C.

Emily at Pygott and Crone was incredible with the process of our sale and purchase. Always on hand when I had any queries or worry. It’s been a stressful process as the sale fell through 2 months after offer got accepted , and she managed to find another buyer for our house within a matter of days. She’s friendly, knowledgeable and even offered to go the extra mile and call third parties involved for us to speed the process up. Everyone else in the team who have helped while Emily has been out of office, have also been incredible and really helpful. We would happily use Pygott and Crone again, and definitely worth the extra money compared to other estate agents!
We used AJ for our new mortgage and he has also been amazing and so friendly. He had quick responses to any questions I had and he kept us updated throughout.
Again, would definitely use the whole team again.

Utterly poor. I was interested in a commercial property and spoke with William Downing who told me that the property was no longer available and hadn't been available for over a week. I told him that the property shouldn't be listed on a 'live' website if this was the case, yet instead of actively listening, acknowledging that the problem is real and apologising for the trouble, he just said it's an IT issue. Three days later, the same commercial property is still listed as available to rent. Pygott & Crone and William Downing are a perfect example of bumbling incompetence. Avoid!

Treated appalling by this branch. Verbally said offer accepted over phone for house they were selling, confirmed we had accepted an offer below our asking price to a cash buyer all so we wouldn't lose the house, all agreed to go ahead over phone and took one evening to sort a solicitor only to be told the next day that an offer from another buying had been accepted!! Kept waiting hours at a time, trying to get more information, if we could put in a higher bid. Not just letting us down but our buyer who also thought could more in time for Christmas. Unbelievable, disgusting way to treat people. Agree with other reviews, clearly all they care about is money.

There have been a number of examples of lack of communication with the Lincoln branch. This is the only estate agent that doesn't communicate with the buyer or with their internal staff professionally. If you are selling a property I would urge you not to go with Pygott and Crone - Lincoln.

Stuff is very rude ,arrogant and looking at you like they are better than you. Manager is the rudest .
Then they will ask you proof of funds before even showing the house ETC..... They charge you expensive

Writing on behalf of my mum who asked pygott and crone to value her house. The gentleman who came out was 15 minutes late with no apology claimed he had left a message on our answer phone, no such message existed. After looking around he undervalued the property by 50,000 from the value given by 3 agents from other companies being quite dismissive throughout. He made it blatantly clear he was not interested in taking on this property even when other agents are fighting over the property due to its uniqueness.

We have now found a property but not with Pygott & Crone, we would have really liked to buy through them. Possibly the worst experience you could have! Had my mortgage withdrawn as P&C thought they were selling me a Freehold and the house was actually Leasehold! To add insult to injury, there was no way I could have got a mortgage on the property unless the lease was extended... by me! This farce went on for 9 months before I lost my patience. To credit them, they did refund me for the Searches and various fees I had paid but to put it in perspective, I bought with Purple Bricks and did a full renovation in the same amount of time as P&C took to mess me about on an almost unsaleable house. Not good.

Please dont use these as your letting agent as they dont care about your property , the property they are agents for has a leak above me, my husband had to come home from work to see where the water was coming from, because the agents wouldnt send anyone out because the tenants didnt know they had a leak, for god sake we live in a ground floor apartment, the water is coming through the ceiling, where do you think its coming from? my husband and tenant found the leak, but they cant stop it, after a few heated phone calls to letting agent with no joy, i have had to go to the management team that runs our property, maybe they can help and give letting agent a kick up the butt , the tenants were given the plumbers phone number but he/she wont pick up, we reported 4 and a half hours ago, its not on, just think of the damage it is making, and the cost the landlord will have to pay, not just for his property , mine as well, this is the 4th leak from this property i have had to deal with under this agent. come on get a grip, and by the way i found the young lass on the phone rude and thoughtless couldnt give a t@@s, maybe some people skills wont go a miss...........24th September 2018 Didnt get a call back from manager of letting agent Friday as asked, plumber did come out 5 hours latter to fix leak from apartment above, after talking to tenant above he said that the phone number the letting agent had given him was for the plumber but he was off , So maybe more communication between contractor and agent we might of got a plumber sooner and there might of been less damage . I have British gas plumbing insurance and the plumber is out within an hour as leaks is one of there top priority .

Would never ever use Pygott & Crone again. Had a property on the market for 18 month and still NEVER SOLD it. Listed it with Winkworth once I’d run out of patience and lost thousands and guess what.......it sold in less than 4 weeks. Initially with P&C I had accepted a bid and after 12 weeks the people buyers pulled out, turns out they couldn’t afford the house and P&C never asked to see relevant proof of funds. House was reduced twice and was a steal and they still couldn’t sell it. Like I say, the house went on with Winkworth after 18 month with P&C and it sold to the first viewers they showed round. P&C always talked a good game but they were useless, over promise and under deliver. They cost me thousands in mortgage payments on an empty property. There was also numerous occasions people wanted to view but P&C could t accommodate.
