Extremely poor service from the Sleaford branch. The staff were unhelpful and showed no real interest in assisting with renting a property. Despite meeting all the stated requirements, I was still refused viewings, with no clear explanation. The process felt biased and unfair, and communication was dismissive and unprofessional. A very frustrating experience. I would strongly advise others to look elsewhere.

Doesn’t keep you updated or your property marketed so you get a flurry of initial viewings and then nothing afterwards. They booked viewings where the viewer had already put in an offer on another property and will accept potential viewings even if the prospective buyer isn’t on the market let alone in a proceedable position, so a lot of time wasting for everyone involved.
Despite repeated requests to improve marketing and stimulate interest, there was little movement. Then when you wish to exit the selling agreement because you feel as though you aren’t getting the care and attention you expect, the managing director won’t budge on the £300 termination fee that is written into the contract. There seems to be no responsibility or accountability for them, but will hold you fully accountable if you attempt to leave.

We purchased a property through Pygott & Crone, the process from offer to completion was smooth (delays but nothing to do with them !) They handle the offer with professionalism speed.
I was dealing with Tina as the progressor, who was very helpful in chasing the lower chain and keeping me updated with progress, also making sure the sellers understood we were doing all we can to progress as well. It was also lovely to meet Tina in person on completion day.

Myself and my partner recently purchased a house through Pygott and Crone and we could not be happier with the customer service we received.
We dealt with numerous members of staff throughout the process but had most of our interactions with Tina towards the end of the journey. Tina was unbelievably knowledgeable with all our queries, and was by far the most useful person we dealt with throughout the whole house buying process.

As a tenant, I would not recommend Pygott & Crone to ANYONE that is looking to rent a property.
Pygott & Crone, specifically Gabrielle who works for their rental team, represent atrocious landlords that treat their tenants as if they are a cash cow. I am a single occupant, under 30 years old, and I have lived in 5 different rental properties, this is the first one in my life that has claimed my security deposit; for something as silly as a missing light bulb.
I have stayed at the property for over 4 years, which when I moved in, still required work. The carpets were not cleaned, parts of the stairwell needed repainting after damage was caused by the previous tenant, there were no curtains on the windows (which I left behind after my tenancy) and the boiler was already on it's way out, but never replaced in the 4 years I stayed there, despite the fact I needed to let pressure into it practically every other day to maintain working order.
Pygott & Crone's post-tenancy report stated, and I quote, "Based on the duration of the tenancy, it would be unreasonable to make deductions to the tenant's deposit." and yet they allowed the landlord to do so for 3 light bulbs, an oven tray (which was cleaned before I left by a professional cleaner), gardening fees (despite having been moved out for 4 weeks in the height of summer), and costs for removal of an LED light strip that I left behind in the office simply because I thought the new tenant might appreciate them.
I was charged a total of £240 from my security deposit for cutting back a hedge, taking down an LED strip and repainting a single wall; despite the tenancy being over 4 years long. Pygott & Crone emphasizes an already terrible power imbalance between landlord and tenants, then claims they are impartial when they have the potential to protect young tenants that are already struggling in the current housing market; and as such I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. As guilty as the landlords they support.
Stay clear and do not use them.

I spent 8 weeks with this agency at the prime selling time trying to find someone there who was interested in selling my house and at the right price. I felt at each stage I had to do the thinking for them. The person who did the 3 viewings didn’t appear to know significant information on the house: price, how long on the market, mains drains. The only efficient activity they achieved was to send me the £300 cancellation bill when I told them I was going to transfer to another estate agent. The reality is I’d have paid double that to move on. They’re big, so don’t expect a proactive personal service. If you want to do all the thinking for yourself try Purple Bricks. I just chose a smaller agent.

I would not buy a property from these people even if it was my dream property!! Due to their lies, being told our offer was accepted and no viewings would go ahead, we then were told the next day that a viewing took place and a higher offer accepted. Now there is nothing else on the market in our price range and we have to move in with my mother!

This company fail to call you back when they say they will. They advertise incorrect information about their properties and their prices. Their knowledge of their properties is non-existent. One of their team members met me at a block of new build flats, tapping his watch upon my arrival even though I had arrived on time. He informed me my appointment was only 10 minutes as he had other people to show round and advised I was wasting that viewing time whilst we were talking. I'd arranged to view 4 properties with the office and I'd agreed the flat numbers with them as this was a second viewing and I wanted to be sure. This man rudely advised he was only going to show me one and it wasn't any that I was interested in. He argued with me, continued to look pointedly at his watch, advising time was passing, did I want to view it or not? I told him about the arrangement made with the office but he said he knew nothing of this and carried on being rude and arrogant. This company lack customer care, manners, courtesy. In my experience, potential buyers are not considered important. All the man was interested in was getting back to the office as it was a Friday afternoon and he wanted an early finish. I ended up complaining to the manager who did nothing, so then approached the seller to advise how this company were mis-managing the sales of their flats. Needless to say, I did not purchase one of the flats; they lost out on a sale...I went elsewhere. I could not believe people like this are allowed loose to represent their company! Totally awful company...run a mile!

on the 24th April 2013 i was shown around a property in Sleaford arranged by the Sleaford branch, pre arrival i was given no notification as to the condition which faced me as i entered, the photos gave me a rather false impression, to say i was shocked is an understatement, i feel i should have been told it was a repossession and to expect the unexpected...after travelling from North Wales , what a waste of my time and the agents rep, who i was not overly impressed with, he couldn't get away quick enough and felt pushed as he locked up and left me to look at the garden...i feel that the mentioned branch was unprofessional in their ways of their approach to the job in hand.
i must add this is no reflection on the Lincoln office, as i have received excellent service from the staff, especially Mr Joe Beard....
