Well they must have lots of business as I called them and spoke to a lady who took my details (which were already on their system) as I was looking to sell or rent my property out, but have never received a call back or email so after a week of waiting I went to fulfords, who have already been out, no emails or missed calls on my landline of mobile from them , bit silly really but if they can’t manage a call back…..

I purchased a property through this estate agency but this has to be tbe worst estate agent I have had the displeasure of working with. In two viewings of the property neither time the estate agent accompanied us leaving the vendor to show us around. We purchased the property but the house was not taken off sale until two months later and countless calls, each with a different excuse to why it hasn't been taken down, only me threatening to pull out resolved it. One month into the purchase I called to see progress and the staff member I spoke to didn't even know the house was sold. A week later they cancelled my surveyor appointment thinking I wasn't proceeding. One month after that I had a call from their team asking if I wanted to view a property they had just taken on. I could never get hold of their progressions team and never got a response. When asking if we could view the property before exchange they said they would try but didn't have a key and the owners were away, then avoided the request and on day of moving I had a call to say they would be out of the office and they would leave a key somewhere safe for me to collect. They then called back and said there was a key in a keysafe all along. I insisted on them checking this, lucky I did as there wasn't. I would have turned up and been unable to get in. Avoid them at all costs.
Update: I am grateful for the feedback and that you took the time to investigate our case and respond. We did not take it through your complaints procedures, which I agree should have been a process I followed but as we were not your direct customer, I did not feel it appropriate but thank you for the suggestion. Unfortunately the responses you provided were inaccurate, there was not £10,000 reduction in price, there was a survey cancelled owing to the reasons you explained but a follow up survey was also cancelled. I will follow the complaints procedures and provide the information to enable you to have the full picture which is clearly not been recorded or remembered correctly by your team.

We asked to view a property with Woods Bryce Baker from the Paignton Office. We are cash buyers, not that this should have made any difference! The initial call, the gentleman whom we spoke to was unsure if the property had sold, was going to speak to someone and get back to us……..We in total have made three calls to the office and on three occasions we have never received a call back. The service is absolutely dreadful.
I would not recommend this firm to anybody.

Waited four weeks for them to get in contact about a property I would phone every day at least 6 times and would never get through. Finally four weeks later got hold of someone to find that the landlord no longer renting it. Absolute waste of time.

After returning a property to them in Paignton rentals office, we were asked to pay for a professional clean of the oven for £35 no receipt was ever produced for this clean and I doubt very nuch a clean was done, just another way woods are abusing and neglecting their tenants !

We have experienced this estate agent as a seller and as a buyer and been disappointed on both occasions. The lack of communication is frustrating and having to constantly chase the company to return calls means unnecessary stress at what is already a stressful time.
As a seller we eventually changed to another estate agent to sell our property. The communication and overall experience was much better and more professional.
As a buyer we were told that the people we were buying off of had an offer accepted on another property only to be told six weeks later that it was not the case and they had never had an offer accepted. Six weeks wasted watching other properties go because Woods had been dishonest about what was happening in the chain.
When you have an offer accepted on a property they send you a letter telling you how communication is key. We sent them an email over a month ago asking some questions. This email has never been replied to. We called asking for an update and were told someone would call back. They did not and when we called back we were told the person had gone home for the weekend. As it was a bank holiday weekend we were left waiting all weekend for an update. The call never came and we had to chase them again. They need to take onboard their own advice about the importance of communication.
When we eventually spoke to someone they tried to use the fact that they had been very busy as mitigation. I would suggest that the company concentrates on customer service rather than numbers of customers. They are obviously taking on more work than they can cope with.
My advice to anyone is to avoid this company if you can.

We sold our property through Woods Bryce Baker and although most of the staff were working from home owing to lock down, the service that we received from them in particular Sarah was second to none in dealing not only with our buyer, but also the seller of the property that we were puchasing in Lincolnshire. If we still lived in Torbay and were selling or buying we would use them againg.

I can honestly say I’ve never had such a poor experience with an agent.
I had a viewing booked in for Thursday which they didn’t show up for. Turns out they put the viewing in the diary for the Friday! Rearranged the viewing for today (Tuesday) and they showed up without the keys, so I couldn’t view! Wasted my time on two occasions! Their suggestion was can you come back in an hour - believe it or not, people do have busy lives!
I can’t imagine they will be feeding back to the seller that we didn’t get an offer because we messed the investor around twice!

I am a key worker NHS worker single parent with no family here a sold property wanting to view a property with intent to buy.
I asked for a viewing on my couple of hours off work without my child whilst in school, fully booked.
Gave me an appointment on my day off ok but I’ll have to bring my son, Like plenty of other estate agents have let me do given the circumstances.
The woman said no and when I said but I have no choice she still refused unlike other agencies that let me view with my son.
she in a patronising way said, errrm cos it’s a national lockdown”.
I felt a bit discriminated on really to be honest.

Disgusting attitudes of the paignton branch towards a single parent trying to view a property while working around being a key worker at the hospital and trying to fit a viewing in while her son is at school. No problem with other agents, but this agent was rude in there response and very unprofessional would never recommend this company. I'm sure if the property owners new that they were losing them sales they would not be impressed

We were really impressed by all the team at Woods, especially with Jo and Angie, who we dealt with most frequently. As tenants for several months in one of their properties, they made the process very simple - nothing was ever too much trouble and any queries were all picked up and dealt with immediately. Very cramped at the table there was 5 of us had no elbow room we were 5 adults and there were tables of 2 adults and 2 children on much better spaced tables but they would not move us our poor waiter looked so stressed and you could tell in his voice not his fault at all even when we came to pay was told had to pay at table bought over card reader would not work got another one would not work so after all that we had to go and pay at the bar steak knife given with a meal which was broken so not the waiters fault at all its what is going on at the back of house I'm concerned about the lady who I would think is main person needs some customer service lessons very abrupt and a bit patronising

Don't bother with this so called estate agent, as a letting agent they are only interested in taking all your deposit for the smallest things, and when the cooker packs up they do nothing for 3 weeks. As a selling agent no better. I had local authority searches completed on a property they were selling costing me £350.when I pulled out of the purchase as the survey found it needed too much work doing I offered any future buyer of said property the local authority searches for free . What did wood bryce Baker do? Nothing . So the new buyer has spent time and money needlessly. They don't see the bigger picture . My friends family and anybody else I come into contact with will Not be using them as an estate agent in future.
