JDW contacted us about a buyer although we hadnt planned to sell imminently. Despite a difficult market JDW were confident and determined to make the sale. After a short negotiation the sale was finalised and contracts exchanged. This was the easiest sale in 30 years.

Family Home of 80+ Years – SOLD by John D Wood & Co
After more than 80 years in our family, selling our home was never going to be “just another transaction.” It mattered. A lot.
Like many people, I had my misconceptions about estate agents. Those disappeared within minutes of meeting James at John D Wood & Co. Knowledgeable, sharp, professional, articulate — and refreshingly not pushy. I didn’t want to admit it at first, but after that initial visit, I already knew we’d found our agent.
To be certain, I invited five other companies to value the property. I was determined to find the very best. The reality? We’d already found them. James made sure of that.
From start to finish, the team — James, Ellie and Lilly — were outstanding. Communication was spot on: not overwhelming, not lacking. Every call and email was clear, concise and purposeful. No fluff. No chasing. The information I needed was often delivered before I even thought to ask.
They handled everything with professionalism and calm confidence, while still managing to match my occasional humour — which made the whole process feel human rather than transactional.

I had a very positive experience with John D Wood in Wandsworth, particularly working with James Setright and Ellie Troisi. Although they were acting on behalf of the seller when I purchased my home, they were consistently professional, pragmatic and constructive throughout the process.
James and Ellie were excellent communicators, kept things moving at the right pace, and handled any challenges calmly and efficiently. Their approach was refreshingly straightforward and solutions-focused, which made a real difference in getting the deal over the line smoothly.
Buying a property can be stressful, but they helped make the transaction feel well-managed and collaborative from start to finish. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them.

Unfortunately, they couldn't find a buyer for my stunning flat themselves and had to enlist an outside estate agent, and had me stump up extra money to help compensate them. So they got it done after the end of the contact term, but it cost me £thousands more. This was after they earlier had asked me to agree to halt showings as demanded by an earlier (lower) offer that I reluctantly accepted. That buyer ended up walking weeks later, wasting precious time that could have been spent finding a real buyer.
Estate agents are not your friend. No matter how charming they appear before their engagement contract is signed, once you sign it, they revert to their true mercenary selves, pressuring you to accept offers well below the very valuation they provided, because their only loyalty is to earning their fee. Don't get fooled. Wish I never used this JDW office.

I've recently worked with Charlotte at John D Wood & Co, throughout the viewing appointments, Charlotte constantly showed true professionalism and expertise for the local area going above and beyond. Charlotte took time to understand my key points of what I was looking for in a house to ensure the viewings were relevant and efficient use of my time. 5 stars aren't enough to rate the experience I had today. :)
Moving home can be very stressful, but Eleni from the Lymington branch was an absolute star and made it the best experience I've had in years.
Eleni was very accommodating, knowledgeable, and her positivity was absolutely contagious.
I started the experience with high anxiety, and feeling like if I not only found my dream home but also a "friend".
I lived in 6 different countries, moved over 20 times and this has been by far the best experience out of all of them. Couldn't recommend the services more.
