1st Nov 2022 (3 years ago)We have had dealings with Woodleys Estate Agents over a number of years both selling and buying of properties, as well as renting. The service, communication and advice they have always given us has been excellent. In particular Mark, Mike and Gareth who were totally on top of negotiations and efficient in deputising for each other when required. All In all this company and its employees acted both professionally and honest with us at all times. They were a pleasure to work with and we can 100% recommend them. In addition we rented a property out through Woodleys with Aidan representing us, who likewise had very high professional standards and guided us through the whole process from advertising to selecting a tenant. Again we recommend this side of the business too. Mark, Mike, Gareth and Aiden are a credit to Woodleys and clearly showed integrity and professionalism throughout our dealings with them, but we also had a good many funny moments and laughter en route. Ben Baker was excellent from first meeting through to eventual Completion - polite, reliable and efficient, as also were Ceri and his support team. Moving after 34 years was always going to be challenging, but Hamptons made the whole process much easier for us. We are glad we chose them.

However Alex Barton at Strutt and Parker Newbury exceeded our expectations with his calm, extremely professional and level headed approach. Alex’s knowledge of the market and the local area is second to non, and he was always on the other end of the phone be it for reassurance or updates on viewings etc. I really felt as though our hand was held throughout the process and nothing was ever a problem and always delivered with a smile! The marketing of our home was exceptional both from Newbury as well as Head Office. It really was a pleasure selling our home through S&P and I would highly recommend Alex to anybody needing to sell their own most cherished treasure. Thank you S&P!

20th Jul 2026 (14 weeks ago)We purchased a house recently through Singletons in Pangbourne. Paul Marshall handled the sale. He really was 1st class - a true professional. He worked across buyer and seller to get the deal done. After the price was agreed, Paul and the Singletons team remained engaged throughout the transaction helping resolve obstacles and keep the sale on track. Result was completion within 6 weeks. I can't recommend Singletons Pangbourne highly enough.

13th Oct 2026 (14 days ago)Very disappointing communication and customer service<br><br>Unfortunately, our experience with Prospect Letting Agency was extremely frustrating, particularly regarding communication, transparency and the accuracy of information provided.<br><br>Oliver Payne (Ollie) was our main point of contact, and we repeatedly had to chase him for responses to straightforward questions regarding the tenancy, payments, inventory, parking and check-in arrangements. Emails were often unanswered for several days, even with the branch manager copied in, and we frequently had to escalate or call to get a response.<br><br>We were also given incorrect information about the property. We were initially told it was electric-only, whereas the property actually has both gas and electricity.<br><br>The Goodlord payment process was particularly confusing and stressful. A blocking/holding deposit of £311.54 had already been paid on 27 June. We subsequently paid the full deposit individually through Goodlord, but the portal did not provide a clear explanation of how the previous payment had been accounted for. We also had to make the deposit payments separately rather than being able to make one payment from a single bank account.<br><br>We repeatedly asked the agency for a clear written breakdown of the deposit, first month’s rent, payments already made and, most importantly, where the initial £311.54 payment had been accounted for. Despite asking for clarification, we received no timely response and were left trying to understand the figures ourselves. This was particularly concerning because these were significant financial transactions, and we simply wanted confirmation that we were not paying anything twice or losing any money.<br><br>Although the tenancy was eventually completed, the process was unnecessarily stressful and required far too much chasing from our side.<br><br>For a letting agency, accurate information, clear communication and transparency around payments are fundamental. Unfortunately, our experience fell well short of what we would expect.
