Thanks to Alex and Lamont for all the help. I'd definitely recommend Andrews to new buyers as they really do go out of their way to help.<br><br>It took around 8 months to complete the purchase, and they were helpful and supportive throughout.<br><br>The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that the recommended solicitors they gave us ended up costing around twice the original estimate by the end, and the seller used the same and we had to chase a lot, a local Bristol solicitor would have been better and saved us a few k! but it is what it is.<br><br>Many thanks again!

This agent doesn't seem interested in selling a property in The Crescent Hannover Quay. I have tried twice to view a 2 bed flat with blue furniture and the first time they cancelled on the grounds that I was looking for a top floor flat which I clearly wasn't. The second time they didn't bother to respond to my request at all. So I hope the blue flat owner reads this and sees how lazy they are.

Just completed on a flat purchase with Andrews Bishopston. I had a viewing with Alex who was really friendly, then helpful when working our way through from initial offer to acceptance<br><br>Through the rest of the process I had regular contact with both Alex and Dom, and very occasionally Lamont. All were transparent, clear, and timely with their communication and - though ultimately they're working for the seller - acted very fairly and constructively. It took us a while to reach completion, but everyone at Andrews did their best to keep it moving as we worked things through, and I'm grateful for all their help along the way

Fantastic service and professionalism from the whole team at Andrews, especially Alex. I never once felt that things were ‘drifting’ and was kept up to date with progress regularly. Selling the family home that mum and dad moved into over 50 years ago was, as you can imagine, very emotional. Not only was Alex lovely and friendly, but he was also super responsive to emails and always really helpful. We were tenants of a property that Andrews managed for 7 years and in that time dealing with Andrews was consistently a struggle - like pulling teeth. Communication was consistently inaccurate and inconsistent, seemingly no coordination between Andrews and their contractors, or even between Andrews branches.<br><br>E.g. We needed our bathroom painted, they sent a decorator who used paint that wasn't suitable for a bathroom and when we flagged it and Andrews said they'd sort it - it never got done. Which they kept from our landlord.<br><br>Another great example is our door was replaced, with new keys issued and every time they sent a member of staff to the house - they only had a key for the old door. Ridiculous.<br><br>So glad to be shot of dealing with them, good luck to anybody who uses them/moves in to their properties. Moving out was a ballache.<br><br>I don't usually leave online reviews but my experience was so crap I had to.

Overall the experience at Andrews was good. Alex, who handled the sale, was responsive to emails and kept me up-to-date. I used the recommended conveyancing solicitor, and they worked out well.<br><br>I was disappointed that Andrews Letting Agent, Clifton, were not of more assistance when various safety checks were needed for the sale to proceed. I have been a client as a landlord for over 10 years, but they were not willing to do any more than pass on some contact details of contractors (which I already had from invoices). I appreciate the lettings side is separate from sales, but given they are all part of the Andrews 'family' there should be more of a 'can do' attitude rather than 'it's not our responsibility.'

During our managed tenancy, Andrews were never totally awful, however, communication was often glacial and labyrinthine. When the person managing maintenance requests for our property moved on, we weren't told, and so we never knew who to speak to. We would send emails about leaks/mould/broken appliances/peeling paint, and get no reply for weeks or months. When we phoned to report the same issues, we were told we'd be phoned back promptly. We weren't. When we phoned again, no one had any record of the initial phone calls. This lead to cyclical and frustrating conversations. Getting basic issues fixed was, a lot of the time, like trying to get a tennis ball to the top of Mt. Everest using only a golf club. We were lucky in that *eventually* things were addressed, and only once or twice did we have extremely urgent things come up (water leaking from light fittings etc).<br><br>After the end of our tenancy, however, things took a turn for the worse. The Zero Deposit tenancy closeout was protracted beyond belief. The most frustrating thing is this: we told Andrews *exactly* when we would be away for two weeks, and inevitably, we were contacted slap-bang in the middle of our holiday, with the deadline for our reply being before we got back. And so instead of enjoying being away we had to spend an afternoon explaining why photos of a perfectly clean property showed a perfectly clean property. Absurd.<br><br>Edit in reply to the reply:<br><br>a) Yes, works were carried out, but having to have loads of maintenance issues fixed across the tenancy is one thing – having to call and email again and again and again to get them to happen is another.<br>b) In total the deposit scheme adjudication took several months. It's totally ridiculous that there was not the option to delay for one or two weeks out of the nearly 16 total that it took between the end of tenancy and the process to finish.

It is definitely the worst agency that I have ever experienced so far. We got them for 1 year, they took ages to take action on urgent repairs. Somethings like the carpet it was in really bad conditions and they did not want to change it. Unfair uplift of rent multiple times, almost black mailing behaviour.<br>I would not recommend it at all<br><br>Now you answer with another lie, of course it is Bishopston agency. I attach one of the emails to prove it. And thanks for your automatic copy pasted message that you put to all the people when there is a bad review - This is the kind of thing that you expose yourself if you rent with this agency.

Andrews sold our house for us, and we were really happy with the service we received, from the initial meeting right through to completion.<br><br>The whole process took about 3 months, which seemed abnormally quick to us! This was really important as we were planning a fairly daunting relocation.<br><br>All the key elements were there: communication, efficiency and clarity, and we found we were always able to get in touch with Martha and Billy whenever we needed their help.<br><br>We got lots of viewings and they also helped us hold out for the right price, too.<br><br>They also recommended a great conveyancing solicitor, who was similarly brilliant.<br><br>I would definitely recommend Andrews to anyone looking to sell their house in the Bristol, Keynsham area.

I hate this renting agency with a passion. Ask the world from you to rent one of their properties but won't lift a finger to help you regarding the property (for example unfit living conditions). And then at the end they try and take your deposit for damages you have already made them aware from day 1. Shame they supply some of the nicer properties in Bristol and Bath.

Avoid this company, I've dealt with many estate agents in Bristol and never been so shocked at how incompetent the staff are. In the year and half I've had to deal with them they have twice delayed contracts due to missing paperwork which they have been given three times relating to an existing tenant who had been there 3 years. This delay essentially causes people to be homeless for a month while they obtain the same paperwork, which they have already been provided, however there was no acknowledgement or apology for this either time. They are very slow to deal with maintenance issues and sending wrong people and parts for the job, which wastes the owners money and tenants time and adds to the frustration of dealing with them.<br>I had to wait a month to receive my deposit back and they were always trying to get more money (illegally) from tenants for early release on contracts. Whenever you speak to the staff they moan for an hour about how overworked they are and how many emails they have, wasting everyone's time, instead of actually working their way through their mountain of emails.<br>I'm shocked at how they run and their processes in place, someone needs to report them to ombudsman. I have several emails to back all these issues up, but I'm just pleased to never have to deal with them again.<br>Please avoid at all cost, you will only be frustrated and confused how they "run"

I rented a house through Andrews from 2021-2023, and it was not a good experience. The main problems were:<br>Dirty and damaged property upon moving in, very poor communication, and slowness responding to maintenance requests (this caused flooding at one point due to neglected plumbing).<br>When trying to move out, we were told that in order for Andrews to complete the reference required by the new property, we would have to end our tenancy. We did so and Andrews proceeded to provide a bad reference! Eventually this was resolved, and we were told that the bad reference was given by mistake.<br>Andrews tried to withhold £250 from our deposit for reasons that we considered spurious. After Andrews failed to provide further evidence or negotiate, we were forced to open a dispute with MyDeposits. Once the case was opened Andrews then started to reply more promptly, tried to negotiate, and offered a reduced deduction of ~£150. We continued though the dispute process and an independent adjudicator ruled that Andrews were entitled to only £97.<br>Overall, I would not recommend renting though Andrews.

The process had stalled but thanks to Steven he got things moving again and kept on top of it until completion. His communication was excellent, he was proactive and he played a big part ensuring we reached completion. I would highly recommend Steven.

I have very much appreciated the expertise of Steven Pearce at Andrews to get my sale over the line. It was a complicated sale with lots of last minute enquiries and time pressures and without Steve’s guidance and management of solicitors on both sides, this sale would never have made it over the line. Steve has also been very proactive and responsive, unlike the solicitors.

Genuinely the worst estate agents I have ever interacted with. It takes weeks or months to get responses from them for issues if you get a response at all. Email or phone they are essentially impossible to get a hold of. I've never even got something near to an apology for it as well. A complete lack of empathy for any renters, it's disgusting.

I rent a house through Andrews. We had a rotting problem with one of the doors. Seeing the picture, they claimed that a "small section fell off internally". After pressing them hard, it still took 2 months to address the problem. 2 extra weeks for the contractor to come out for measurements. +6-8 weeks to make the door. Altogether 5 months for a door, - having a hole on it the size of my fist - to be replaced. Super, I will have a door by summertime, thx Andrews.<br>Yes, and one day delay in paying the rent I got a warning letter.

My friends and I had rented out a property through St Andrews letting which was fine for the majority of the time spent there up until we reached the end of our tenancy.<br>When we tried to claim back our deposit after 10 days a member of St Andrews letting team called Joseph Fairman and told us that the landlord was still deliberating over our deposit and that he would get back to us once he had responded. We contacted the landlord and he told us that he was satisfied with the way we had left the house and that he had no issues with us claiming our deposit back. After looking into the issue it appears as though the letting agency has tried to claim that we left the house in an unsatisfactory state and that they were the ones withholding the deposit as they wanted to attempt to claim some of our deposit to cover the cost of a cleaner despite the fact we had already hired a professional cleaner. Extremely unsatisfied with how these events have ended.

When looking for student accommodation for my MSc Andrews estate agency were diabolical.<br>When I first called the Agency they said they did not let out to students however when one of my friends were able to get through to them they did in fact give us a viewing for a property knowing we were students. We travelled to Bristol for this viewing only for the estate agents to say that we could not access the property and cancelled the viewing only once we arrived, something they could have informed us before we set off on our 2h journey. When we did get a viewing a couple of weeks later they said the property would be fully furnished, however, on the phone call finalising the contract they dropped it in that the property would not be furnished when I dispute this matter they said they’ll just give the property to someone else and that I had less then a hour to confirm this new contract I was not originally sold. When we were given the keys they provided us with a wrong set and we could not enter the property. Once we were able to enter the property a number of crucial repairs needed to be made such as light switches and patio doors not locking, also much of the damage done within the property was not mention in the contract. When the repair man came round, he was rude and left all doors open for anyone to walk in.<br><br>A couple months into the contract personal issue arose and I needed to leave to move back home, I asked the estate agent if this could be possible and that I would cover all cost and find a replacement tenant but after 4 months of back-and-forth emails and calls they would not entertain it. However it was always in their capabilities to remove me from the contract when it suited them. At the end of the tenancy they wanted use to leave sooner and get new tenants in, they were more than happy to adapt an “unbreakable contract”.<br><br>All I can say is they acted spiteful and vindictive to me, I felt abused by their unnecessary unsympathetic treatment of me, and I would never recommend a friend to them after how they’ve impacted my life.<br><br>I understand students do not have much choice with renting in Bristol but that does not mean estate agencies should exploit them.

From reading these reviews it seems that Andrews are great with communication if you are buying a house and not so much if you are renting a property (read: they are great when they want your money but completely useless when they already have it). Please be wary if you are renting a property off of them. Although with the current rental market you may not have a choice. They know this so can basically do what they like because you are desperate for somewhere to live.<br><br>We have had two rental properties from Andrews during our time in Bristol and each time we had an issue in either property it has taken them a ridiculous amount of time to sort. Some issues were just ignored. They then try and take as much of your deposit as possible at the end of your tenancy for relatively minor issues (compared to the ones you complain about which get ignored).<br><br>In our first property the bathroom began accumulating black mould after a few months. It was clear there was a reoccurring damp issue which gets painted over in-between tenants rather than installing a proper ventilation system. No amount of damp traps or scrubbing could stop the mould. This was communicated and ignored.<br><br>In this property our washing machine was broken for nearly 2 months (the property was advertised with white goods). In this time we contacted Andrews weekly and nothing was done. In the end we had to threaten to stop paying the rent until it was resolved. Miraculously a plumber arrived in a few days. The plumber mentioned issues with the pipes that needed to all be replaced (he mentioned the words “a spectacular bodge job”). I doubt this has been fixed a few years on.<br><br>In our second property we struggled with damp in the kitchen (more damp that has just been painted over… seems like a pattern is occurring). Again contacted Andrews and they said they were sending round a damp specialist. A few people visited the property but then there was no communication from Andrews after this to offer any resolution for the damp. At one point they failed to warn us a damp specialist was visiting and a man with keys to the property appeared in the house when my partner (who works nights) was sleeping. Imagine his surprise.<br><br>Finally in this property a crack started to appear in the wall of the downstairs room. This was communicated to Andrews and someone was sent round to look at it. Over the next few months more and more plaster fell off the wall leaving a giant hole. No communication over whether something was being down to fix this despite emailing then with pictures of the hole in the wall.<br><br>Now after moving out they are trying to keep an extortionate amount of our deposit for relatively minor issues with the property. Awaiting a response from them to resolve these issues with the second property.<br><br>Edit: no response after 4 days - classic Andrews communication there

Emily Davies has a very professional attitude. She appears to enjoy the process of visiting the property and listens carefully to the information about the property. Then with a good camera on a stand she produced very good visual material. She gave us an accurate price she thought it would sell it for and was able to find a buyer at this price within 2 days.
