From the very first conversation, the team were professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in helping us through the process rather than just pushing for a quick outcome.
A special mention has to go to Holly, who was absolutely fantastic throughout. She was friendly, professional, and incredibly reassuring, keeping us informed at every stage and always taking the time to explain things clearly. Communication was a real standout. Im not a customer, ive never contacted them and never interacted with them up until they stole my personal information (email,phone. Home address) to use for marketing, ignored when i requested a SAR about what information they have held on me, for what purpose ,and how they obtained it. Ignored it beyond the legal deadline , ive also made an offical complaint and thats also been ignored.

My experience is from 2023. So why I am writing a review so late? This gave me time to experience other letting agents and compare! Still Beals ( I am not sure if it still exists) and staff are number 1 in unprofessional behaviour. I have so much to write but let me restrict to a couple of issues. On the first night of accomodation we realised the heating is not working at all. With a 3 years old boy we struggled and thankfully we could stay in a friend's place that night. When I emailed the agency next day, the excuse was that the previous tenant or landlord did not tell them about such issues. Secondly, when we moved in , we noted the damaged window handles, uncleaned kitchen etc etc which I mentioned in my check in mail to them with photos. They had the audacity not to respond to that mail and then they took money from my security deposit after a year for repairing the same. Trust me, if the same staff and management are running the show under another name then please don't get exploited. I have no options less than a star to give in review so one star ( for my tolerance!!!)

My experience with Beals Estate Agents has been extremely disappointing and frustrating. They seem to specialize in exploiting students by unfairly withholding deposits under dubious charges. Throughout my tenancy, communication was poor, and they strictly prevented any direct contact with the landlords.
One particular example of their unfair practices was during the winter when our boiler was broken for a month. Despite repeated requests for repairs, we were left without heating, yet we were still charged full rent for that period.
When it was time to move out, they waited until the last possible legal day to inform us of hefty charges for cleaning and repairs, despite our efforts to leave the property in good condition. It feels like a significant portion of their income comes from these questionable charges, targeting students who may not have the resources to fight back.
The entire process felt shady and unprofessional. I strongly advise anyone, especially students, to avoid Beals Estate Agents if you value transparency, fairness, and decent service.

They are always very friendly when you are viewing properties. Once you have taken a property from them, they never get back to you On the phone or email I was constantly chasing them up for maintenance to be performed to the point where we had to offer to get the work done and claim the money back. they will leave everything till the legal deadline for them to have any work is complete or paperwork. It’s taken me 3 weeks to get my deposit back from them And that was after I left five messages for them to call me about the deposit. I am now looking to buy my first house, but would not use Them, even if I’d seen my dream house being advertised by them

Was shown around the property by Billie and she was informative and told us everything we needed to know as well as explained everything involving payment clearly.

Very bad experience dealing with Beals, I have rented a property with them, the landlord and them wanted us to pay double the deposit for no clear reason, and we had to go to dispute service for this. In the end we paid only third of the deposit. My advice that no one should deal with them.

I don't know anyone who has had a good experience with this company. We dealt with Shelby. Take notice of the date of other reviews being very similar.
Renting a property from Beals was a big mistake. We were left with no electricity due to them not knowing where anything was in the property that they managed. We had no heating all through winter as they didn't send anyone out despite requests. Only fixing it in spring as well as many maintenance issues brought to their attention.
When it came to moving out, they made everything more difficult than it needed to be and their behaviour became more unprofessional. Ignoring emails, being rude on the phone and person.

Our purchase through Beals took 9 months due to many issues with the chain . Saskia was our first point of contact and then Maddie . Despite all the issues Maddie remained calm and professional and kept us engaged with the purchase . At the very end and most critical time Maddie was working from home with Covid but made crucial calls on our behalf with Saskia supporting from the office . Our move was a relocation from 100 miles away and we are very happily settled now in Southsea. Good job Beals !

Over the last year or more I have been searching for a seafront property in Southsea. I registered with Beals at the beginning of my search in the hope they could help. At the time, it was a sellers market with very few properties coming on. Primarily i dealt with Saskia and Maddie who both would let me know when a property was about to come on the market, they would always pick up the phone and call to discuss the properties and arrange a viewing. I found that both Saskia and Maddie were very professional and proactive in my pursuit to fine the right property. Whether you are purchasing or selling, i could not recommend Beals enough.

Finding houses to rent at the moment is so stressful with the current competitive market but Shelby at Beals made our experience anything but stressful. It’s particularly tricky finding landlords who accepts pets too so we just feel very lucky to have found somewhere so quickly. I put my flat on the market in June last year, between lockdown 1 and 2. The service I recieved from Beals from the outset was amazing. But being a covid year, I lost two buyers, both due directly to covid's impact on buisness's.
I mainly dealt with Stacey in the Southsea branch and the dedication from him and his team to get me a sale was fantastic, working longer hours, answering my calls and emails promptly and even whilst on leave. I can't thank him enough for getting me through to exchange on the property, a long long time after the first offer!

Not professional AT ALL. From day 1 we had problems, they don't listen to their costumers and their need. The only thing they care is about receiving the MONEY. I don't care paying as long I get a proper work done. Was supposed to fix bathroom 10months later nothing has been done! Everything take ages and need a lot of calls, emails visits to have something sometimes done. Not recommended them for sure.
