After weeks of getting nowhere with another firm, we were under real time pressure with our remortgage. A family member suggested Karl, and the difference was immediate.
Within 24 hours he had secured our Agreement in Principle. Within two days the full application was submitted. A week later, we had our formal offer. The speed and efficiency was outstanding.

Connells were fantastic when marketing our house. We approached several estate agents in Salisbury, only 2 of which even responded. The other was unenthusiastic and didn't come across as though they actually wanted our custom.
Matt on the other hand came along with research notes on the current market, examples of marketing they had done with previous customers and a good, but realistic valuation of the house.
Following the launch of our house on the market, Connells were incredibly responsive and got us a huge number of viewings during the time we were listed. Matt, Ben and Jessie were all great showing people round the house and offering advice and guidance on how to best show off the house throughout the process.
Overall, I'd highly recommend Connells in Salisbury.

I want to thank the whole team at Connells Salisbury, especially Crystal and Alex who have helped my parents move into their new home. Crystal and Alex were very professional, provided consistent updates throughout the whole renting process and made the whole experience very positive.
My parents received a ‘Welcome to your new home’ goodie box, which was a nice gesture that we appreciated and made the moving experience more exciting. Renting a property is usually overwhelming and stressful, but the team at Connells is very organised and they take you through this process step by step making it easier to navigate.

A first rate service. I initially met Jessie on her first day in the office in February 25. She was confident and helpful. We subsequently met frequently when she accompanied us, with the client, to view properties.
The client, post stroke with severe communication difficulties, can be very challenging, but Jessie was, at all times, patient and understanding - speaking directly to the client, ensuring he was the focus of the viewing and that he understood her, before moving on. This is a rare quality, not often exercised, even by those who are familiar with the situation. Jessie is a credit to your organisation and to the leadership of the Salisbury office, who are obviously supporting and training Jessie. Many thanks to you all.

I have had countless calls from Tegan as well as 3 other people. This was in regards to a Zoopla evaluation not made by myself where someone has clearly accidentally used my number instead of their own (I live 3 hours away)
After 3 times of politely asking to have my number removed the calls wouldn’t stop. I ended up blocking the main number but the calls keep coming under different numbers also leaving voicemails each time.
Surely after asking to have your number removed multiple times it eventually becomes a GDPR violation here?

Oh dear. We found a property to rent and what started off as a promising start, with Aimee in her first week as a lettings agent, she was very pleasant and competent. We placed the required 5 weeks holding deposit on the property and proceeded with the referencing formalities etc., During this time the Landlady changed her mind (not for the first time) and no longer wanted to rent the property but now wanted to sell it. As we had only signed the 'intention' to rent and paid the holding deposit to Connells, that was that, the tenancy could not go ahead. So we asked Connells for our 5 weeks deposit back and despite being told it would be returned, kept getting fobbed off with excuses such as 'the accounts team are very busy' to, 'we use an external company to take/hold the deposits' (which was not disclosed at the time placing the payment directly with them.. Upshot after continual failures to return the deposit we gave them a 5 day notice of intended litigation. No deposit received, so proceeded with a claim through the Small Claims Court. Strangely, the deposit was then returned, but not yet the costs incurred is getting it back; so we will proceed with the litigation and see what a Judge makes of their behavior. I understand the 'change in mind was not the agents fault, but the manner in which they behaved thereafter was dreadful. Avoid handing any money over to them.

Worse service, it’s a joke. They told me I had to go with their in-house mortgage advisor only if I want to get the house. They charged me nearly £1000 for nothing. Time pressure to make payments and once your money is gone it’s not coming back ever. My friend had similar issues with Connells when she was renting. This is no less than a scam, people working here are not transparent. They will just do anything to charge you no matter what only because they made a couple of calls to you. Please don’t fall for them.

Great mortgage service from Karl at Salisbury Connells, very professional and responsive. My needs were a little complicated and changed at the last minute, but Karl adapted to this and provided me with the best mortgage available (so 5 stars for him). The rest of Connells get 4.5 stars for doing a very good job selling my house and again being professional and responsive (it was probably a little over-priced initially, but I guess that’s my fault too, so a half star deduction). I also used their conveyancing service, only 4 stars here as this was also very good (despite being a long way away in Birmingham) until the last minute where their system came up with an £5k error on the final statement (it had not included the recent re-negotiation). I spotted this when I received the statement the day before completion. Without me spotting it I may have lost that money, but this was rapidly corrected and completion went through perfectly - so the moral of that story is that QS Davisons need to review their system and checking procedures (suspect that has happened already, Nisha was very apologetic), but also as customers, we should not take for granted that all documents are correct, and ensure we properly exercise our role reviewing documentation and monitoring the process.

I made an enquiry with Connells last year. I decided to use another agent but, nearly 18 months on, they are still calling me on an almost daily basis to offer their services. I have asked them numerous times (by phone and email) to stop calling me but to no avail. I have had to resort to blocking their number and will not use them in the future.

After almost missing out on the house we want to purchase due to our previous mortgage advisor not be able to get us the loan amount required for the house, we started looking at much smaller houses. We found one on rightmove and Connells were the agent selling it. Unfortunately the property was under offer so, sort off the market. The agent we spoke to asked if we wouldn't mind speaking to one of the mortgage advisors, which, at the time we thought was pointless but agreed anyway. We spoke to Karl Pollitt, he was very helpful and efficient after we explained our situation. Within a few crazy days of trying to get all our documents to him (after a few nightshifs????), he got us a mortgage in principle. He was able to put in the full application and three weeks later we got our mortgage offer??????????????????????????. He also managed to sort out our HTB. He assured us every step of the way, especially while we were waiting for the offer to come through. His response to any of our questions was quite quick and no question was silly.
I would definitely recommend Karl Pollitt to anyone in need of mortgage advice.

Rude Staff. Terrible service. NEVER USE! I have used Connells many times in the past with no problems. This Salisbury branch is by far the worst.
Upon entry i was greeted to sighs from a young man called Jake. He seemed disinterested and hungover, i could instantly tell he wasn't happy i had showed up to ask question on a property I've had my eye on.
His short responses and lack of interest were beyond unhelpful. I left feeling i was in the wrong for just being there. I would be embarrassed to have him represent my business. I won't be coming into this branch ever again.
I will be using one of you competitors in future.

My review even though is 5 star was a typical estate agent!
I called to view a property in October and spoke to Steve who advised me to come and see their mortgage advisor at first I declined as typical estate agents. I viewed the property and liked it and was asked once again to come see Karl the Advisor. I decided I would even though i had seen 4 advisors and he actually managed to get me a really good deal with NatWest which NatWest could not do themselves!! So i am thankful to Steve and Karl for this. Steve helped me throughout the journey as I did view it 4 times. Karl also kept me updated which was nice and deserved a bottle of Red. There is a fee to use Karl but in my eyes he got me a better deal that saved me this over the 5 years! Definitely worth the time to do it.

I was looking for my first mortgage, so I was pretty clueless on what I needed and could get on my own. Someone recommended Karl Politt. He was super helpful, he went through all my options with me. He found me an amazing fixed 5 year rate on a mortgage. While I was there he asked if there were any houses I was interested in. He showed me some on the houses on their books. He actually recommended a three bedroom property in Salisbury. I then spoke to Stephen who booked me an appointment to view the house the next day. I put in an offer after seeing it and it was accepted the same day.
The only negative was that Mike said that I must use their in-house solicitors or the seller would pull out. I did fell bullied into using their solicitors. Which is ethically wrong However Taylor Rose were good solicitors and price was okay (legal fees are expensive).
Stephen was very helpful throughout the sale and letting trades in to see the property. I would highly recommend Connell's. Karl and Stephen were amazing. They made my first house purchase super easy.

You will get forced into selling with them and then they do nothing to sell the property!
Mike didn’t discuss any details with us regarding selling with them just talked about how it would sell well and so far after 3 months we have had practically nothing from them!
They also tie you into a 6 month contract and say nothing about that when you sign up with them!
I have sent a complaint and there regional manager practically said I was lying about all my issues clearly he hasn’t read some of the below comments!!
We have now taken our property off the market and have to wait until feb to put it on with someone else which is very upsetting for us!!

Absolutely disappointed with our experience at the Salisbury branch. Mike has all the chat to get you to sign up but then they just don't deliver. The negotiators never even viewed the property prior to trying to sell it. When you call no one seems to know what's going on, it's seems to be run by a very inexperienced team with one particular members behaviour being extremely childish. If you want to speak to Mike then be prepared to wait........ We are tied into a 6 month contract, please be aware of this as we've taken the property off the market now but can't go with another agent for sometime. These agents are really for the lower end of the market and are not able to sell property of a higher price. We have had such a negative experience and would not ever recommend them. Sadly not enough people leave reviews because we have found that their reputation is extremely poor since discussing with others. I would simply avoid them.

As first time buyers, we knew very little about mortgages.
We were advised to arrange an appointment with Karl Pollitt at Connells Salisbury.
Karl made us feel so welcome and so did the other team members at Connells.
We had to do very little. Karl took everything in hand an in minutes a mortgage in principle was offered to us with a surprisingly low interest rate.
We were offered far more than expected.
All this happened very quickly, smoothly, without hassle and headaches.
We are now 5 weeks later nearly ready to move into our first home.
Talking to many friends we realised that we were so lucky to end up with Karl Pollitt.
Karl catered for all our needs and his help was invaluable, a service you can’t buy.
The bonus is that this is a lifetime service so we don’t need to worry about the future as Karl has this in hand.
I can honestly say buying a house was so easy as we had to do nothing.

Dealing with Connells Salisbury is awful! They will aggressively insist you see their mortgage broker before you even look at a house, even if you already have an agreement in principle. In our experience they insisted that getting a mortgage through them was the whole reason we had had our offer accepted and we had no choice but to do so immediately (that day!) which meant we both had to abandon work and trudge down there to sit through every attempt to try to sell us pointless bits of insurance and a will despite continuously informing them that we would rather not sell our soul to them. When viewing the house they could not tell us a thing about it or the sellers and neglected to tell us of a dispute between the selling party which has caused the sale to fall through. The final straw though had to be the fact that our solicitor had not received a copy of our mortgage offer TWO MONTHS after it was accepted and that our mortgage company had in fact been dealing with different solicitors that Connells had sent them the details for. We have both sworn that we will never use Connells again, even if they are the estate agents for our dream house!

This review is for the mortgage services of Karl Pollitt from Connells.
Karl has done a great job securing my wife and I a great mortgage deal on our property.
Before we met Karl, both us were uncertain as to how to process works and indeed if we were in a position were to be able to get an affordable mortgage.
From the very start Karl was very welcoming and made the application process very clear to us.
After finding us the most competitive deal, he carried out all parts of the application for us, keeping us up-to-date with the progress.
I never had any issues contacting him on the phone and he was always happy to talk to me.
Overall, I had a stellar mortgage experience and would highly recommend Karl as a mortgage advisor.
Comment on agent fees
We paid £598 for lifetime Connells mortgage advice. This may seem like a lot, but the mortgage deal Karl has found for us had no survey and set-up fees, which when I compared mortgage on comparison sites, many times easily exceeded this number.
