I worked closely with Tom, the manager, and despite regular contact and Tom following instructions quickly to amend the price on a couple of occasions, we weren’t able to sell. Tom clearly explained what the market conditions are and helped to manage my expectations accordingly. Therefore, I decided to let the property. I can't praise the team at Dacre, Son & Hartley (Settle) highly enough. They were open, human and honest. Throughout the inevitably worrying time of selling your home, they are sympathetic and understanding. Highly organised and very efficient, they always called me back and were able to co-ordinate a complex chain, taking time to ensure that communication with all parties was good. Where chasing was needed they were able to keep the momentum needed. I think a special mention should go to Tom who really went out of his way to make sure that everything ran smoothly and always kept us up to date. They've been extremely helpful throughout our whole house-hunting and purchasing process, managing to fit in viewings when we were up in Settle, sometimes at quite short notice. We recently bought a property using Dacre, son and Hartley. The office staff were all very pleasant and helpful. Communication between us and the vendors was handled promptly mainly by Tom the office manager. Anthea from the office showed us around the property and was extremely helpful. She took the time to write out a list of places to visit in the area once the sale progressed. Melanie was also very good at getting back to us about any queries we raised. The new office worker Andrew was very polite and helpful too. Tom has a very efficient and friendly team working in Settle. They are all knowledgeable and appear to take a pride in their working relationships with clients. When the sale was finalised we got a very unexpected gift from the office. They handed us a fabulous gift hamper box which had useful coupons and money off products bought at AO for example. We got £30 off the price of a washing machine. There were chocolates, sweets and washing and cleaning products all of which were very useful. It was such a nice gesture and something we have never had from an estate agent before.
