A shambles. Took our money for 2 weeks and then a few days pre-move pulled out but given they'd refused to let me sign a contract I was screwed. Despite my impending homelessness they offered no options to help me. It's not just this massive screw up but the little errors. Our agent, Elle, was most helpful throughout the whole process of selling our flat. She is very passionate, enthusiastic and hardworking, which made it very easy to choose her after meeting several other agents from other companies. Elle could easily be reached on email or mobile, was communicative with updates, was considerate of our needs as parents in full time work and went out of her way to help us quickly resolve issues which really should have been handled by the conveyancers. Had a great experience finding a property, where all staff we dealt with were pleasant and helpful. Once the let began however, we found them to be rude and difficult to deal with at every interaction. At the end of the tenancy, viewings were booked with as little as 15 minutes notice, with notice often given to only one of the tenants. The deposit return was also unnecessarily difficult, with claims for intensive cleaning, despite our check-in noting that the house was dirty when we arrived, and us returning it in a much improved state. Overall a needlessly unpleasant experience - would absolutely not rent with again.... Read more

Stay away. Scam. This agency is a joke. The poorest experience I have ever had. Property management does not exist, after you sign a rental agreement they do not care about you at all. After I have to fix all issues myself in the flat from my pocket, they made unrealistic deposit deductions, which I had to recover through submitting a claim with a deposit scheme.... Read more

very bad experience so far. they push me to book, pay, and stuff in few hours (we have many offer!), then of course turn out that the flat was NOT available as they said. I had some comment on the contract, which were never reply. they disappear for 3 weeks, and the day of the moving they blackmail me. "either you sign like this, either you wont have the keys". all the time i had issue on the flat i never got help from them. basically they are useless, just taking your money without giving you any service in exchange.... We've worked with Davis & Gibbs for years. They have always rented our various properties and found good quality tenants who have stayed with us for years. The staff are helpful and they don't seem to mind me calling them for updates in the evenings as I don't get time in the day - they seem to go the extra mile. And we have found that when they advise a price, they actually achieve it unlike numerous other agents who promise a higher rental price to win the business, but then have to reduce the rents as they over-quoted and can't rent them.... I can honestly say from a landlords point of view they are one of the best, most professional and efficient agents I have ever dealt with (especially Chris). If every agent was as good as them I would be a happy man. On top of this I recently had an unfortunate situation with a contractor that Christopher went over and above to sort out and came to an amazing solution. Unprecedented levels of rudeness and incompetence The service we have received from Anthony at Davis & Gibbs has been nothing short of shocking. From the outset he gave us misinformation, and as soon as we had signed the contract he became very unhelpful. If he needed something from us he would hassle us, but if we needed something from him he seemed to go out of his way to make things as difficult for us as possible. He was not willing to be flexible in any way once he has got your money tied into a contract. Absolutely terrible experience, do not use this estate agent. Stephen Davis is very helpful however, the staff are not. Anthony is extremely unprofessional not to mention rude on several occasions. He is reluctant to help or find any solution apart from what suits him which makes things very difficult. Kwame is again unhelpful and allowed for contractors to enter our property without telling us which is against the terms of our contract. Communication from the team to us consisted of the staff repeatedly pointing the blame at us rather than accepting responsibility for their own mistakes - customer service non existent. Unless working with Stephen Davis, who has been great at sorting our issues through this process, do not use this estate agent.... Read more

Viewed a property in Brixton yesterday via Davis & Gibbs - I arrived and thought: 'how strange, this looks nothing like it does in the pictures advertised...' - sure enough, after checking with the agent, the pictures online were actually for the flat on the floor below - a completely different layout / no. of rooms & bedrooms to the flat I was viewing and available to rent. The flat looked completely different and was far less spacious to how it looked in pictures online. The agent was apologetic but that kind of gaff is inexcusable. I wish I have read the other reviews earlier. I found a flat on zoopla which was listed by this agent. We arranged viewing today. Me and my husband traveled a long way there, and they showed me a completely different flat! A much worse one. The guy who showed us around wasn't the one I called yesterday so he just said he knew nothing about it. I then messaged the guy I spoke to, he didn't apologize or explain anything, just ignored me! Absolutely awful experience with this agency! If you want to be lied to, ignored, taken advantage of and mistreated than this is the right agency for you. - Agency didn't bother to book a cleaning team, so I moved into a dirty flat. It took them 3 days to finally get someone round, after myself and my land lady endlessly calling them asking them to do this. - Agency never told me how to use my 3 different sets of keys (after land lady specifically told them how to use the keys and to please tell myself and my flat mate how to use them properly before we moved in) this resulted in us getting locked in the building and having to fork out for a locksmith. Asked agency to pay the bill as it was completely their fault, wrote countless emails, called and texted various agents within Davis & Gibbs, got completely avoided and ignored. After paying over £300 in agency fees you would think you would get a high standard of customer care and service. Think of the worst service you can possibly get and Davis & Gibbs will give you that.... Read more

I wish at everyone do not have problems at home after signing a contract with Davis&Gibs. Now are 8 month i am waiting that they give hot water to the shower. Are 8 month that they try to ignore me and FOUND EXCUSES because the OWNER DOES NOT WANT TO SPEND £400 for fix it. Are 8 month that we are having COLD SHOWERS and it's not funny... Are 8 month that I LOST MY TIME writing emails praying that they decide to fix the problem. In all those 8 month they wasn't able to fix many other problems in the flat like stoves of the cooker wasn't working the kitchen hood it doesn't work, the toilet door had to keep half open. The first day i have been inside, it was a big mess in all the flat, no maintenance... I had to fixed most of important issues by myself because the maintenance wasn't able to do it, but are able to find excuses to do maintenance if it takes too long or costs too much. Is happened several times that I had appointments who have not respected without any warning, and then I LOST DAYS OF WORK waiting somebody never came that day. I hope that they will understand one day how much important is to have hot water for the shower. THERE ARE THOUSANDS OF AGENCIES IN LONDON and DAVIS & GIBBS for sure IS NOT COMPETITIVE.... Read more
