Tony on the lettings teams pulled out all the stops to help me out of a very sticky situation after I found the house that I had bought elsewhere was in a state of disrepair.
I walked into Gould Harrison homeless and desperate, and 20 minutes later walked out a very happy gentleman!
He found me a flat at a very competitive price, and helped streamline the application process to get me in the next day.
Having never rented before, I was clueless to the process but Tony made it easy.
Since moving in there's been a few times I've needed to contact him and he's been courteous, professional and efficient.

He kept his word from the outset and then throughout the process he was completely open and honest (even when it wasn't what we wanted to hear!). The staff in the office were equally as helpful. Further to your response, this wasn't the case on the phone you were very blunt and rude and not obliging in any way, I was working the open day and was told there was no other days available until the open day was completed and that it would sell anyway. The only response I kept receiving was "viewings on Saturday only", very robotic and unhelpful.

Had the misfortune of trying to book a viewing with this company, basically there was one day for viewing and that's it so if you can't make it then too bad. The man I spoke to was so obnoxious and rude not to mention unhelpful. Obviously no one wants to leave their cosy little office to do other days unlike many other helpful estate agents that have been very accommodating and flexible.
I wouldn't dream of selling or buying through this company.

ORIGINAL: A terrible experience start to finish. Dishonest management and incompetent sales agents led to the collapse of a sale after 5 months with the buyer refusing to speak to Gould Harrison and my solicitor highlighting multiple failings from the Gould Harrison agent. Avoid at all costs.
EDITED AFTER GH RESPONSE: Gould Harrison failed to reveal the identity of the buyer or that the buyer could not speak English and required documents to be sent to family abroad for translation. After 5.5 months Jo the agent revealed that she had limited contact with the buyer and was primarily directing all questions through the buyers solicitors. When I raised this with Nigel, Nigel insisted that there was regular and open conversations with the buyer and that language was not an issue. Throughout the 6 months of the sale I only had two proactive updates from Gould Harrison - 90% of communications and requests for updates were initiated by myself, usually after hearing nothing for weeks. Post the collapse of the sale when I asked for a complaints process and data Gould Harrison refused and so I had to make a Subject Access Request where GH breached UK GDPR timings and have issued a charge. My experience start to finish has been terrible.

1 thing after another with this firm:
As a seller, they will only be at the viewings 50% of the time and expect the seller to do the other 50% even if it's a buy to let situation and the seller does not live there.
As a buyer, they force you to do stacks of paperwork to put in an offer that they will reject and refuse to provide a reason why when you ask or even offer to increase the offer (I suspect it's because their commission won't differ too much in comparison to a couple of extra grand for the seller) so I doubt they even relayed anything to the seller. Also (maybe not their fault but just as annoying) my offer was accepted on a a different house and the paperwork from the solicitors took over 2 months to process so the "seller" withdrew, again this may very well have no input from them but it may have been encouraged by them to get the sale put the door ASAP.... Basically if you are in the process of doing paperwork for a house that you wee the winning offer on, just know that your time and effort is very easily chucked down the bin.
Bottom line is if you want to sell your house and don't care about what price it sells for or getting good service, I think this place is good for that. Otherwise Haart estate agents are right next door, never tried them but I cannot fathom they will be anywhere near the lever of service or messing people about offered here.

This was the most stressful transaction but through absolutely no fault of Gould and Harrison who I cannot praise enough.
I started my buying journey in Feb 2023 and completed Dec 2023 buying from them. Putting an offer on the house I fell in love with in March. It was Andy who took me for a couple of viewings and never pressured me to make a decision but let me decide.
At various points I spoke with the rest of the team who were always so helpful, but I have a special mention for Jo who was phenomenal with her communication to all parties in the chain and really went the extra mile. She never once got annoyed with me, she was on the end of the phone or email when I was stressed and crying and also when there were happy moments.
If I ever sell I will definitely be using Gould and Harrison to be my agent.

I cannot fault the service at all from Gould & Harrison. I was very careful in selecting the right agent to sell my home and plumped for an independent over a chain and I’m so glad I did! Lee handled my sale and I‘ve got nothing but praise for his professionalism, knowledge and friendliness. Lee kept me up to date throughout the whole process, was never slow in responding to my queries, remain calm when I started to lose my head at times, and all-round good guy. Lee was very honest in his assessment of the market and the realistic price I would achieve for the house (compared to another agent who tried to tempt me by suggesting my house was worth way over the market price). I achieved a good price for my sale and the whole process was quick and efficient. Lee also took his time the give me advice on properties outside of the area which he had no involvement with! One of the best estate agents I’ve dealt with and this is from somebody who is very cynical of the profession! I would highly recommend Gould & Harrison if buying or selling in the local area.

Most unprofessional Estate agents I have had to deal with. I veiwed a property 2 months ago and told them I was intrested and went ahead with my application. After numerous calls of checking my application process they said they would get back to me after speaking to the landlord. I was first to veiw and first to put a application for the house and I didn't hear anything back. The house has now been let to someone but I thought the communication could have been a lot better from the lettings team. It's a good job I'm wasn't in a hurry to move.

Over all they provide a good service, the reason I didn't give a 5 star is because when viewing my current property they didn't mention important maitence issues, when I questioned a member of staff after noticing the issues my response was I wanted to see if you noticed, I thought this was unprofessional. Although we had lots of contact with them to get issues resolved to start with, they always picked up the phone and got the problems resolved in a few days.

Forget the rest, use the best! My wife and I first met Nigel Gould in 1990 when we needed a valuation on our commercial premises. At the time there were only two agents in Ashford with the necessary qualifications. We have only dealt with Gould & Harrison since then and for almost a quarter of a century this very professional company has handled several purchases and sales on our behalf.
We have never regretted any transaction they have handled for us.
Over the years Nigel has recruited an extremely well trained and knowledgeble team. We purchased our very first house over 50 years ago with Gould & Harrison, A good acquisition with Nigel. By far the worst experience with an estate agents ever. We we're informed 4 weeks prior to move in that we had secured a property and paid the initial fees to go through credit checks. Although there was an issue with permission from the council (Forget the name of the license) but that there was no need to worry and would all be sorted. We were also asked to sign the final documentation in person before the move in date, even though we lived 120 miles away. We booked time off of work, to travel to Ashford and FIVE MINUTES before departure they informed us that they couldn't sort the permission from the council out. This was EIGHT DAYS BEFORE MOVE OUT we were told we couldn't move in, leaving us homeless for the next week. We were very fortunate that Haart helped us to find a place in time, otherwise my housemates and I would have been homeless!
The only consolation being that they gave back the initial admin fees.

Outstanding service and honesty from day 1. Easy to approach and very helpful throughout the purchase (even with questions that were not related to their properties!). I was looking for a "project" house and Lee showed me round a property which was needing a complete refurb. I was touched by his decency when instead of pushing for a sale and trying to sway me towards a purchase he advised me against the property suggesting that it would cost more than I had estimated and that he reckoned that I would prefer other properties. With the bad reputation that estate agents very quickly build for pushing for the sale to bump their commission, I cannot recommend these guys more!!

There seem to be many sharks and corporate cowboys in the estate agent world. Gould and Harrison are an agent that give the trade a good name. I felt I was working with them to get the job done (even though they do all the work!).
They are also a lot of fun and clearly enjoy working together. I almost wanted to apply for a job with them myself! I immediately trusted them and didn't feel they were selling me a story.
It's a very professional operation and I would actively seek them out should I wish to buy or sell a house again. Huge thanks to the team.
