Unfortunately, I would not recommend Miles & Barr estate agents in Ashford. My experience with them has been frustrating from the start. They consistently avoided my calls—something I could only get around by calling from a private number.
I was shown around a property that had already been sold, which was a complete waste of time. Throughout the process, I’ve had to do all the chasing; they’ve provided no updates or progress reports unless prompted.
When I raised concerns and asked to speak with a manager, the response was dismissive and unhelpful—placing the blame back on me rather than taking any responsibility for the issues.
Overall, the lack of communication and accountability has been incredibly disappointing.

I used Miles & Barr as they were highly recommended to me by a friend who had used them previously and couldn’t speak highly enough of them.
‘Word of mouth’ recommendations are often the best referral you can have and now that I have been lucky enough for Miles & Barr to handle my house sale, I can confirm that I would never use anyone else.
They valued the house appropriately to the uniqueness of the location which other agencies didn’t seem to consider. Due to this, I was able to achieve the top market price for my home - no other agent came close to recognising this.
Not every house sale is straightforward and mine certainly wasn’t due to demands made by buyers solicitors and having to get retrospective planning for an attic room.
This is where M&B showed their absolute professionalism and expertise but more than that they supported me throughout the process and went more than the extra mile to keep me up to date and constantly chasing the local council (no mean feat) on my behalf when I couldn’t manage this due to work commitments.
They ensured that an already stressful situation was dealt with by their sheer commitment to get the sale completed.
I must say a very special thanks to Louise Daly who looked after the sale once I had accepted an offer. Louise is like having your very own ‘ninja warrior’ who used all her energy and vast experience to get the sale completed.
Louise was in constant contact with me and liaised between the solicitors, new buyer and Ashford Borough Council. This was invaluable to me as I just didn’t have the time or knowledge.
Thanks to all involved at Miles & Barr and I hope this review helps some that are trying to decide which agent to use.

I had a really bad experience during the negotiation process - as a first time buyer I felt pressured and uncomfortable. I was lied to by the agent (Joe Bull) . He was very rude and I even caught him in a lie regarding the seller (and how they wouldn't want to sell to me) after I mentioned a crack in the wall - one that the seller pointed out to me themselves. This made me lose all trust in him and worried me about the entire process. I felt that my naivety was exploited as a first time buyer. I get it's the intention of the agent to get as much money out of the buyer, but what happened to empathy and kindness?
However, after the offer was accepted I was transferred to a new agent who saw me through the solicitor/enquiry/completion process. They replied to all emails promptly and even during the late evening which made me feel as though they were going above and beyond for me. (Louise Daly). She made me feel really comfortable and listened to.
Thank you Louise for saving my first house buying experience, just such a shame Joe made the experience so sour.

Miles and Barr have been brilliant from the outset. The team is friendly and professional, and I was confident from the start, that I’d made the right decision in marketing my home with them. A change in personal circumstances meant that we had to remove our home from the market, but I’ve no doubt that our home would have sold quickly. As soon as we are ready to move again, this will be the estate agent we will be going to.

Tom Robinson from Miles and Barr made a very prompt appointment with me to view my flat. He took all the details and within days I went to his office to sign the paperwork. I was very pleased that he was not at all pushy. When I explained that I might want to wait a while before selling it due to personal circumstances, he understood and told me there was not pressure to sell immediately but everything would be in place ready to go when I wanted to.

We are currently at the beginning of our property purchase with Miles & Barr - Ashford, and so far we've been blown away...
The whole team (James, Joe, Luke and Thomas) have been nothing but friendly, efficient and super supportive. We are first time buyers and our original purchase fell through with Wards (what a horrible experience that was!!!), they have made the transition so smooth.

My requests to view or enquire about properties are ignored for 2+ weeks and I only get a copy paste message once the property is taken. I have had this with all 4 properties I have enquired about. The email I receive doesn't even make grammatical sense and I am unsure what they are trying to say regarding having my details. Very poor service and will not be enquiring about any properties with them in future.
