Not impressed at all. If I could give zero stars I would. My husband viewed 5 Stamford Road, Handsworth which was on for £230000 on Friday 19th June 2026. We were told another buyer was interested and had put an offer in. I wanted to view the property so we visited the office and spoke to Gemma Stanford. We were told an offer had been accepted and if I wanted to view what kind of offer would we be willing to put in as the vendor wanted to sell quickly and only wanted to let us view if we were going to put an offer worth his while We said £215k to £220k and could be more after viewing. An email was sent regarding this. Gemma said we can view property on Saturday 27th June 2026. We viewed Saturday an put an offer in of £217500. We got a call on Monday full and final offers. We kept our offer the same. My husband visited the office on Tuesday and Gemma said we are still waiting for a response from the vendor. I came from work and rang the office and Gemma answered. I asked any response from 5 Stamford Road. Gemma replied are you the £215k buyer. I replied no. I am the £217500 buyer. Gemma replied I was about to ring you that your offer has been accepted and you got the house as our offer was the highest. The next day my husband got a call from Gemma Stanford and was told the vendor wants to stick to the original buyer. My husband asked why and Gemma said the vendor/seller felt sorry for the first buyer. When then visited the office at 4pm Gemma said the vendor and buyer do not know each other. Everything Gemma said made no sense. We said to Gemma buyer must have put another offer and she replied yes. We then asked are we allowed to do the same. Gemma replied the Vendor does not want to go into bidding wars but you are allowed to put another offer in but vendor may not accept your offer. We put an offer of £221k and Gemma said I have sent your offer to vendor and emailed it to you. No email was sent to us we chased it up. Then the next morning an email was sent to us with our offer and house was already showing as STC. We believe our offer was not put forward. We got a call on Thursday and Gemma said the vendor was not interested in your offer and the memorandum of sale has started with original buyer. I already knew we were not going to get the house from how Gemma spoke to us and the excuses she made. There was something quite not right with this sale. We feel we were treated unfairly.... Started off with a very good experience with Sahar who dealt with our mortgage! However once house was gone under offer and towards completion, we was not kept up to date, missed phone calls, emails ignored and nor replied to for weeks by Sarah, when called to ask about it she was always “busy” and colleagues would not pass the phone onto her. After being chased for completion from our end and everything was signed off from our side, we heard no response for weeks… when we started to raise the issue we was kept in the dark as “they don’t know what is taking long” but didn’t want to contact the sellers solicitor. After we said we would not go ahead with purchase then they let us know house will be ready in August which initially was meant to be completed by end of May. I see many other people have a great experience which is great but we had one of the worst experience and we felt the way our emails were responded to were also a little unprofessional.... Read more
