I brought a house through a different estate agents over a year ago but I did have initial contact with Mann during my house search. At first it started off well the agent who I was dealing with was always very pleasant courteous and helpful guiding me through the home search as a first-time buyer.<br><br>The agent at Mann advised me to speak to their own internal broker at Mann as part of this process so as a gesture of appreciation I accepted.<br><br>After arriving to at the office for an appointment with the Mann broker I was at first greeted by the agent who I had been in contact with she welcomed me made a nice warm cup of tea before introducing me to the Mann broker. Here's where things got sour.<br><br>I explained to the broker that I was a first-time buyer and was looking for guidance on the mortgage lending process, best rates etc. As someone with zero home buying knowledge I was still familiarising myself with everything. I asked if it was possible to buy a house on residential, rent it out then live in that house later.<br><br>Obviously I didn't understand that you can't buy and then rent out a place on residential mortgage without good reason i.e. being a member of the armed forces, but instead of simply correcting me the broker talked down to me I believe he mentioned along the lines of "I might have to contact the FCA about this" which was really demeaning.<br><br>I then asked about the interest rates and loan amounts which Mann could broker for me and was planning to compare against deals provided by other brokers I had planned to speak to later on. Rather than giving me some pointers he said "show me the money first then we can talk" so rather than advising me and doing what he's paid to do he was rude, arrogant and condescending as if to mock me for being a newbie to the process.<br><br>I couldn't get out of his office fast enough and was certainly not interested in paying him a fee for brokering me a deal, which by the way I achieved for free, with no bullying elsewhere!

We had a fantastic experience with Mann Estate Agents, especially Malachi, who was brilliant from start to finish. This was our first time purchasing a property through the modern auction process, so naturally we had lots of questions. Malachi was incredibly reassuring throughout, always taking the time to answer every question quickly and thoroughly, which really put our minds at ease.<br><br>His communication was excellent, and nothing ever seemed too much trouble. He made what could have been a stressful experience feel straightforward and enjoyable.<br><br>We wouldn't hesitate to use Mann Estate Agents again in the future and would highly recommend Malachi to anyone looking to buy or sell a property. Unfortunately, our experience with Mann Sales and Letting Agents Strood, particularly with Anne Underdown, was very disappointing. Throughout the purchase process, communication was poor, updates were often delayed, and we frequently felt misled or unnecessarily kept waiting.<br><br>Despite the seller being genuinely motivated to complete the sale and progress matters quickly, we saw very little proactive support from the agency to help move things forward. Instead of helping coordinate between parties and reduce delays, the process often felt slower and more frustrating because of the lack of clear communication and follow-up.<br><br>As buyers, we were consistently chasing for updates ourselves, while dealing with unclear or sometimes contradictory information. Buying a house is already stressful, especially as first-time buyers in the UK, and we expected far better support, transparency and professionalism from the estate agent.<br><br>Overall, this was a frustrating experience, and I believe there is significant room for improvement in communication, honesty and proactive case management.

Great experience with Mann Sales and Letting Agents Chatham, especially George Perriss, who was very helpful throughout the purchase process.
Communication was always professional, friendly and quick, and everything was handled smoothly from start to finish. George kept us updated throughout and was always happy to help with any questions we had.
Collecting the keys and completing the purchase went very smoothly, and we really appreciated all the support during the process.
Highly recommended.

I would not recommend Mann Ashford. They were not pro active and did not keep in contact to let us know what they were doing in terms of our property. No one answered the phone. They were disinterested and all they wanted to do was reduce the price. Never phoned us we had to phone them. They achieved no viewings on our property. A very poor performance and no service.
