15th Jan 2026 (7 mo. ago)I genuinely enjoyed working as a Trainee Surveyor and learning from two experienced professionals who were supportive and knowledgeable. Unfortunately, my experience in the property office was very different. The person running the office was inexperienced, insecure, and lacking in confidence. They created a toxic environment, being two faced, patronising, and often blaming new starters, claiming mistakes were their fault, even when communication was poor, organisation was lacking, and errors were frequent. New starters were often targeted for mistakes while not in the office, leaving them unable to understand or respond to situations effectively. The leadership style prioritised self promotion over supporting the team. The environment was exhausting, demoralising, and unsustainable for anyone serious about developing their career. It is no surprise that staff turnover is high in the property office, yet some employees may not realise this is due to the office culture. Despite these challenges, I value the lessons learned from supportive colleagues and from navigating a difficult environment, which will help my professional growth.

Their communication was fantastic throughout—we were always kept informed, and any questions were answered promptly, making what could have been a stressful process so much easier. As we don't live in Dumfries, we needed an agent we could place our trust in, we met with a few different agents, but from the minute we met Mark, we instinctively knew he was the right person for us. Mark from the get go was absolutely fantastic, he is a rare find in the property world, a safe pair of hands who genuinely cares , even though he had a number of properties live on the market to manage, he never loses focus and has an exceptional and methodical way of progressing the process. He was always professional, friendly, accommodating, and a pleasure to deal with, helping every viewing run smoothly. Thank you to Mark and top photographer Robyn and everyone at JHS Law for your outstanding support - we wouldn't hesitate to recommend your services to anyone buying or selling a home.

16th Jul 2026 (6 weeks ago)Both Gary and Alaina in the Dumfries branch of Hunters have been outstanding in what has been a very stressful and upsetting time in my life. My father passed away a few months ago and as his only child I was left to deal with his estate. Living 300 miles away, this was obviously quite an intimidating prospect. Gary and Alaina offered a huge amount of support and professionalism and sold my dad's house in less than 3 weeks of marketing. I cannot recommend them highly enough and I'm so happy I chose them to assist me! Jenny
