14th Oct 2025 (1 year ago)Tried selling a flat with them and it was a drawn out and painful process. It lasted more than a year before it fell through. Going with their contractors and solicitors was the biggest mistakes I made in the sale. I thought if I went with their recommendations, they will facilitate the process, but no. One was dishonest and the other one completely incompetent. Stuart Edward was initially responsive, but then when run into problems months down the line, Lindsey stopped answering calls and the boss Stuart did not call back when messages left. I was left on my own to deal with all the technicality and mess. It was so horrible and stressful, I do not wish it on anyone. Two stars was being very generous as they were ok initially. I went with them because I wanted to support family business. Never again.
2nd Mar 2019 (7 years ago)We are student at Durham University and we decided to rent a house. I called the estate agent and they agreed to send us the agreement and everything to rent this one house that we really liked. We were supposed to arrive a week later to submit the forms and pay deposit. When I got the papers, they confirmed with us that the house would be definitely be reserved for us. However, the morning we were supposed to hand in the papers, I got a short, badly articulated email saying that the property was no longer available and that we should look somewhere else. No explanation, nothing. We were angry because student accommodation is competitive and we lost so much time waiting for this house. Upon emailing them multiple times, they finally said that the previous tenants decided to stay for another year. Didn’t they confirm with the current tenants that they would be moving out? Why would they even list the house if that was an option? .Why send us the agreements and everything? They didn’t even bother trying to find us other options that we could stay at instead. All and all, I would never use this agent again because their service is absolutely terrible

8th Sep 2026 (7 weeks ago)I had a really positive experience with Peter Heron from start to finish. The whole team were professional, friendly and helpful throughout, with excellent communication at every stage. We were always kept updated, which made the whole process feel straightforward and as stress-free as possible. The marketing of the property was also excellent. The photographs were high quality and really captured the property at its best. A special mention to Sarah Hill, who was my designated agent throughout the process. Sarah was fantastic — knowledgeable, supportive and reassuring, and always available whenever I had a question or needed help. Her guidance and attention to detail made a real difference, and I always felt I was in safe hands. I would definitely recommend Peter Heron to anyone looking to sell their property, and I wouldn’t hesitate to use them again in the future.

Stuart has been amazing ?????? keeping me informed and advising what we need to do etc and Dawn well let's just say she is fantastic explained in fine detail what we needed to do along the way as we haven't bought a home or sold one in 31 years .. Sunderlands best . Thanks everyone at Dowen Lisa & Alan M

20th Oct 2026 (7 days ago)The staff at NGU homes have been incredible with our move into our home, the whole process was smooth and very quick, specifically Shakil was so prompt and helpful with his responses and was just generally kind and very patient with us. Amy who we met at the house to get the keys was also lovely and super helpful!. I couldn’t fault these guys they have been amazing from start to finish, I would absolutely reccomend them. Thanks again guys!

As a full time carer at the other end of the country, I couldn't make it up even once but they handled everything for me. From getting the keys back from my exiting tenants to having the cash in my bank took less than 3 months, which must approach a record? Gina Brown - Branch Manager and my handler - gave perfect personalised attention. I'd never sold before so needed a bit of hand holding, and she was always kind and available. Have no hesitation in recommending them.

19th Feb 2026 (8 mo. ago)They offered advice on valuation that matched our expectations, they put it on the market at the value we wanted. We had viewings constantly whilst it was on the market. They advised us to keep taking viewings after offer accepted until we were sale agreed. This resulted in a higher bid, so it was worth it. Only negative was the amount of Photoshop used in photos.

3rd Nov 2023 (2 years ago)I have lived in my apartment for 3 years, my ancient boiler got condemned two weeks ago along with the cooker which was here when i moved in, it took the landlord nearly a week to respond to residential estates about the issues, then i was advised by residential lettings to report the landlord to the council disrepair department which i did and i may add i have a vulnerable child in my care as well, the council got in touch straight away and chased them up, 11 days later i get contacted by the gas engineer company to tell me the date of the new boiler, still nothing about a new cooker, i have spent a small fortune on food and electricity feeding us and keeping us warm, no contact from residential estates, they tried saying at one point that I couldn’t be contacted which is a lie, my roof is leaking i cannot sleep in my bedroom as the ceiling is wet and starting to mold, the wall is soaking wet! Not heard anything about the roof either, is this acceptable? Freezing cold, no cooker, cold wet bedroom? Lack of communication, no oil heaters which was said was going to be brought to the property? At this point I expect compensation and the issues to be dealt with swiftly!
13th Oct 2026 (14 days ago)They are the worst house agent in Sunderland they we take your deposit and not remitted it to DP in other for them not to give you back your deposit without you damage anything in the apartment when you are leaving... I advice you use your deposit when leaving as house rent if not you will not get it back...
