23rd May 2024 (2 years ago)Bit strange, as my sister applied for a rental property and I was to be the guarantor they denied my application even though my payslips were valid? Stating I earn half the salary I put down? They advised me that home let denied my application but they were Lieing as home let has written it in email stating the above. MILLIE I think her name is the, she has been dealing with me on two occasions and for some reason both applications have been denied and then compulsively Lieing to me and my family. To be honest she’s bad reputation to the company. She doesn’t even know left from right let alone a guarantor. Would not recommend this company at all I don’t know if it’s racial profiling but to be honest it feels like that. Would advise people to stay away!
2nd Mar 2019 (7 years ago)We are student at Durham University and we decided to rent a house. I called the estate agent and they agreed to send us the agreement and everything to rent this one house that we really liked. We were supposed to arrive a week later to submit the forms and pay deposit. When I got the papers, they confirmed with us that the house would be definitely be reserved for us. However, the morning we were supposed to hand in the papers, I got a short, badly articulated email saying that the property was no longer available and that we should look somewhere else. No explanation, nothing. We were angry because student accommodation is competitive and we lost so much time waiting for this house. Upon emailing them multiple times, they finally said that the previous tenants decided to stay for another year. Didn’t they confirm with the current tenants that they would be moving out? Why would they even list the house if that was an option? .Why send us the agreements and everything? They didn’t even bother trying to find us other options that we could stay at instead. All and all, I would never use this agent again because their service is absolutely terrible
18th May 2023 (3 years ago)Huge thank you to Jeanette snd Mary who helped with the purchase of our new home. It was quite stressful for us at times and we had a few (a lot!) bumps in the road. We were very dependent on the team especially towards the end of the buying process for many reasons. I truly believe without their help on an almost daily basis we would still be waiting for the sale to have been finalised. We are now 4 weeks in our new home and are so happy. The stress long forgotten. The team are Very professional, very “on it” and also want to do the best for the buyer. Thank you all.
14th May 2026 (7 weeks ago)I had a positive experience with the agency throughout my tenancy. Gail and Ryan were professional, helpful, and easy to communicate with. They carried out inspections efficiently, made it easy regarding the dates and times of inspections and kept me informed clearly throughout the process. Any queries were handled promptly, and the whole tenancy and move-out process was smooth. I’d happily recommend them.
2nd Jul 2026 (3 days ago)Poor service and extortionate fee for an admin check over 4 times the amount my solicitor charged for the same service.<br>When they sent their bill to my solicitor on completion it was over £1,000 higher than we had agreed!<br>They did eventually sell the house after a buyer dropped out because he couldn't get a mortgage even though Bridgfords had checked him out and said he had a mortgage.<br>Use another Agent!
18th May 2026 (7 weeks ago)Would be a zero if possible , this has got to be the rudest man I’ve ever spoken to . Rang to enquire if a property that they were advertising for rent was still available and he was obnoxious and unhelpful from the start . Luckily found out at this early stage and now know not to go anywhere near them for any future business . I feel sorry for anyone who has signed them up to sell or lease their homes as they speak to potential tenants and buyers very badly . Their horrendous reviews speak volumes . Avoid at all costs

The whole process from start to finish was made clear and comfortable by Stacy , updates and keeping communication clear and simple . 17th Jun 2026 (18 days ago)Dowen, Unprofessional estate agent.… I was very disappointed with Down estate agents, I booked a viewing for 1400hrs on the 17th June, at park road Hartlepool, and confirmed it with the agency, we waited for over 30 minutes for an agent to turn up, but no one did, I called their office and the lady said she's stuck in traffic she will be there shortly, we waited for a further 20 minutes, but no one turned up, I called the office again but this time no one answered, so I left a message, stating that if no one turns up in 5 minutes, we won't be bothering with the viewing, no one turned up, this company is so so so unprofessional, and I would not recommend anyone to do business with them, if they can't be bothered to turn up for a viewing of a property, then it says it all, It's that bad that I can't start rate them,
4th Jul 2026 (1 day ago)I can’t thank Debbie and the Billingham office enough for everything they did throughout my sale.<br><br>We encountered a major legal issue with a deed of variation, which took over 14 weeks to resolve and caused a great deal of stress and uncertainty. Throughout the entire process, Debbie was absolutely fantastic. She was incredibly supportive, always chasing solicitors and other parties for updates, keeping me informed every step of the way, and always available to talk whenever I needed reassurance.<br><br>Her professionalism, dedication, and genuine care made a difficult situation so much easier to deal with. Nothing ever felt like too much trouble, and I always felt supported from start to finish.<br><br>I couldn’t recommend Debbie and the Billingham office highly enough. Thank you for providing such outstanding service and going above and beyond.
9th Apr 2026 (12 weeks ago)I was impressed with the initial meeting with Colleen who valued the property. She was knowledgeable,punctual ,a great communicator and efficient. I was extremely happy with Clare who throughout the process was always efficient ,friendly,supportive and conscientious .She replied to and resolved any queries promptly.The communication about viewings was very good and we were reminded about viewings the day before. I was very disappointed by the Sales Progressor who was difficult to speak to ,worked short hours and failed to contact us promptly causing difficulty and additional stress.
17th Apr 2026 (11 weeks ago)The valuation was great, the woman was lovely and photos were excellent. The communication stopped after a few weeks. The house was listed with 2 agents, when I did a viewing with the other party they said about how they'd tried to contact holbrooks and couldn't get through. I received a call about a viewing after no contact for weeks and told them the there had been an offer on the house and was sols stc, the woman rudely said you could have told us. I would have if there had been any contact! Overall wouldn't recommend them.

Jess went out of her way to keep dates on track and keep solicitors moving quickly. We even got a lovely gift hamper with a few essentials in it from Jess and the team.<br>I would definitely recommend Northgate in the future to anyone buying or selling.<br>Way to go team Northgate, you’re all amazing ??????
