12th Oct 2026 (15 days ago)My experience with Dacre, Son and Hartley’s Skipton branch was somewhat mixed. Ultimately, I was able to sell my property within five weeks, which I'm grateful for.<br><br>The overall marketing of the property didn't seem hugely proactive. When it came to the initial valuation, I felt they could have lent greater consideration to the condition and interior of the property, as the approach seemed to rely largely on a broad-brush search of properties in the local area which typically were in need of modernisation. I also got the impression that their network for selling traditional Skipton terrace properties may be somewhat limited, with firms such as Harrison Boothman or Hardisty perhaps being more specialised in this area.<br><br>In addition, I felt that there was much room for improvement in terms of client care. I was contacted on a handful of occasions with rather catastrophising scenarios which, in hindsight, were not warranted.<br><br>Overall, the staff were very pleasant and easy to reach, but I was left with the impression that the branch may rely quite heavily on its prominent high-street location and the footfall it attracts, rather than on a more proactive and tailored approach to selling properties.

Particularly re-confirming our viewing appointment.<br>When showing us around the flat Jonathan was very thorough and left out nothing. In the office Ella Burnham and the rest of the team who contacted us were great. Vicki Bradley and her team have been outstanding throughout the process. Vicki’s communication has been second to none, and she continues to provide support when needed even now the purchase is complete. Simon went to great lengths to ensure all parties in our sale were up to date on the conveyancing process and when we have viewed properties with him in the past he has always been very knowledgeable, informative, polite and on time. He is, dare I say it, a rare find in a property sales professional in the way he knows his geographical area inside out and his respect and manner are refreshing. I don't know of any other estate agents in the Headingley or North Leeds area who are as professional. Highly recommended.

From the first time we met her, she was so friendly, approachable and helpful, and she made the whole process feel much less daunting.<br><br>Debbie was always happy to answer our questions, keep us updated and help whenever we needed it. She really went out of her way to make sure everything went as smoothly as possible, and we always felt that she genuinely cared about helping us find and secure our new home.<br><br>We’re now happily settled in and absolutely love our new house. ????????<br><br>A huge thank you to Debbie for all her hard work, patience and kindness throughout the process. 17th Sep 2026 (6 weeks ago)Polished marketing and a “boutique” label did not translate into the service or value we expected. The photographs and brochure were well presented, but our overall experience was disappointing. We trusted their initial pricing advice. Although the starting price was proposed as a short trial, the substantial reductions that followed and the eventual sale price left us questioning, in hindsight, the realism and quality of that advice. The eventual buyers first viewed through this agency. We ended their instruction without an offer having been secured through them, and another agent subsequently negotiated the sale and handled its progression to completion. Given the high fee, we expected much more from the advice, personal support and service provided. In our view, the fee was disproportionate to their contribution to the completed sale. Based on our experience, we would not recommend them.
