16th Nov 2018 (7 years ago)lier staff in maintenance team , they never fixed thing shower heating not working since a week keep on telling someone come around nothing happen , give a smelling carpert promise to be clean once moved ask to clean it they say we organized someone to come and clean nothing done basically lier staff be carefull when taking any property for rent form this agent . as something goes wrong they not gona fixed it.

20th Oct 2025 (21 weeks ago)Used Ashtons as was a prospective buyer of a property they marketed. Not so many issues with the office but the sales progression team were always quite slow to respond and could never get through to the assigned person to my case. Additionally used ashtons to sell my property and I feel compelled to share my deeply disappointing experience. The problems began immediately. The agency provided an initial valuation to secure our business in July, only to suggest a £25,000 price reduction after just one week, admitting there was no interest. Despite agreeing to the reduction, it did not correlate to an increase in activity which would lead to questions around marketing and resource as Ashtons list a lot of properties. By September, they had only managed to secure two viewings. We received absolutely no feedback from either of these viewings, despite requesting it, leaving us completely in the dark. Lastly thier fees are quite opaque and if youre new to selling read through everything very carefully. In the non flex fees there are baked in withdrawal fees that ensure ashtons get paid regardless if they sell or not. Which gives them little incentive to really push your property in my opinion. The alternative is you pay money up front to them to sell your property which is preposterous. Fundamentally all the agents use rightmove to market your property and that's where most people go to find houses. In summary: an inaccurate valuation, negligible effort, a complete lack of communication, and a devious fee structure designed to charge you even when they fail to perform.

22nd Feb 2025 (1 year ago)LANDLORDS/LANDLADYS BEWARE!!!! Really poor experience from this company. Me and my family were looking to rent a property to which we were told we had to pay a years rent upfront which was around £23,000. Lorraine said you might have to dip into your savings? Imagine a renter paying £23,000 upfront in rent! We pleaded all different options, but all were a no based on the landlord according to Lorraine who wouldn’t even put us forward to the landlord Lucky escape for us, I feel sorry for other tenants but most of all the landlords, their properties are sitting empty due to the pathetic excuse of customer service. I understand they are providing a service for the landlords/landlady’s but they are also providing a service for tenants, which with them doesn’t seem like it’s even close to being important.

Lovely staff absolutely looked after me made me feel human very professional and no questions I asked made me feel that i could not ask them. And believe me I asked a few and especially as moving is very stressful !!! A big thank you to this family run business and even those who worked there who wasn’t family May as well of been. Everything completed we are super happy! A Big thank you to Sadie, Paul, Will and Marianne and even James who does the Lettings and was also really helpful if he answered the phone. But without using Agent Local i would have had a melt down, it’s been that emotional. 10/10 service and really glad I didn’t try sell it myself because my goodness the stress I’ve been through has been a rollercoaster and doing that alone would have been impossible for me.
