17th Jan 2022 (4 years ago)Unfortunately, they couldn't find a buyer for my stunning flat themselves and had to enlist an outside estate agent, and had me stump up extra money to help compensate them. So they got it done after the end of the contact term, but it cost me £thousands more. This was after they earlier had asked me to agree to halt showings as demanded by an earlier (lower) offer that I reluctantly accepted. That buyer ended up walking weeks later, wasting precious time that could have been spent finding a real buyer. Estate agents are not your friend. No matter how charming they appear before their engagement contract is signed, once you sign it, they revert to their true mercenary selves, pressuring you to accept offers well below the very valuation they provided, because their only loyalty is to earning their fee. Don't get fooled. Wish I never used this JDW office.

We have years of previous experience with other letting agents and I must say that Wendy does stand out for her professional yet friendly approach and how prompt she has been with answering all our enquiries during the letting process. Also, we must mention Julia, who too is very prompt and with a positive attitude, ready to sort necessary things out! Well done Ladies for examplar service and thank you very much for your support!

From the initial probate valuation of my Mum's house, through to completion on the sale, I received a kind, friendly and highly efficient service. The sales brochure was high quality, the property sold quickly and Michael and his team kept me informed every step of the way. They liaised with the solicitors regularly to ensure that everything progressed as smoothly as possible. All done for a competitive fee. I would highly recommend.

Also sold a neighbours house in 2 weeks as well, after being on the market with other agentsfor literally 3+ years. The marketing is far better than other agents, with very clear and detailed floor plans and brilliant video promotion, not the usual picture scrolling stuff, it has voice overs narration, music and more. Watch out Hollywood !!! Many thanks Luke for all your help. Very much appreciated and would 1000% reccomend.

17th Feb 2026 (29 days ago)We have rented out a property for some time; Hamptons have been the managing agent. The Letting Office have always been helpful and informative; in particular Sonja Broderick who always has time to listen to us. During our time we have had a number of property managers; currently Antony Bacon. Have to say Antony has been the best! He has been pleasant and helpful particularly now when we are dealing with a leak which had gone undetected for some time. He understands how we are feeling about the whole thing, is communicative with progress, and always willing to chase contractors to keep things moving.

30th Jan 2026 (7 weeks ago)Absolutely loved working with Philip Booth Estate Agents in Henley-on-Thames, and we honestly couldn’t have asked for a nicer or more supportive team. From start to finish, they were friendly, professional, and genuinely cared about getting things right. Philip runs a great ship and you really feel that personal touch throughout. Emma was an absolute star at keeping everything moving and explaining things clearly, George was super approachable and helpful whenever questions popped up, and Margaret was just lovely, always calm, reassuring, and always on the ball. It really felt like a proper team effort rather than being passed around. They added touches that made our experience as sellers so effortless and easy. Buying/selling can be stressful, but they made the whole process feel smooth and human (and even enjoyable at times!). If you’re looking for an estate agent in Henley who actually takes the time to look after you, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Philip Booth and the whole team. ????
7th Aug 2025 (7 mo. ago)Northwood Wokingham have been with me at every step of the way from 2005 when I first became a buy to let Landlord right up until 2025 when I finally retired and they sold both of the rental properties they had managed for me for the last 20 years. With my first 2 properties in the area, I signed up to their Platinum scheme and the team fully managed the properties with a guaranteed rental income for me irrespective of any potential voids between tenants. This was perfect for me in the early days when I was new to the rental business, needed a guaranteed hassle free income whilst I worked full time. As the years progressed and my property portfolio grew, I moved to the standard managed package. I was working with other agents outside Berkshire with my other properties and was always impressed with how Northwood’s standard of service, property maintenance , property inspections and attention to detail was so much better than elsewhere. Denise, Julie and the team were always happy to help resolve issues as they arose and give practical advice. Fast forward to 2024-25 and I decided to sell my properties, Denise and Julie were who I turned to provide expert advice and guidance through the 2 successful sales. I recommend the team at Northwood very highly both for Landlords (and tenants) as well as for property sales.
14th Dec 2025 (13 weeks ago)I had a really poor experience with this company , the experience went from dropping the price on a very regular basis down and down and down not seeming to do there due diligence , when the sales kept falling through we felt pushed to provide expensive surveys for prospective buyers all for it to collapse time and again and the only answer was to drop . We left them and went for another agent who sold quickly at a higher price . Beware

Chloe was unfailingly helpful, prompt and supportive. I would not hesitate to use her services again.

SLM Property is a family business and we placed our property for sale with them at the end of August 2025. All aspects of marketing and promotion were first class and as a result our property sold very quickly - just over 4 months from initial instruction to completion. Thank you Lance and Sophie.

Stuart was super helpful when it came to us buying our family home in Windsor, with a great amount of knowledge and support - especially as we were buying a house with a big future renovation project in mind. We then decided to use them again to rent the property out for a short time before we moved in ourselves, and we had Adele looking after the property, who was fantastic throughout. She was always so quick to reply to emails when we needed anything, and even at the end of the tenancy when we had a few potential issues with the tenants moving out, she dealt with everything brilliantly! Would certainly recommend Lawsons for any housing needs. Thanks to the whole team.
15th Jul 2025 (8 mo. ago)Overpromised, Underperformed and Untrustworthy – My Costly Mistake with HSD I initially listed my property with PurpleBricks in March 2025 for £535,000. After limited viewings over a three-month period, I began exploring other options and submitted an enquiry to WeBuyAnyHouse. They quickly came back with an offer of £460,000—roughly 14% below asking—claiming it would allow for a quick sale. I immediately declined, as I was not in a rush and didn’t want to take such a significant loss. Shortly after, my details were apparently passed on to House Sales Direct (HSD), seemingly a sister company, without my explicit consent. HSD came across as professional and engaging at first. They promised a 98% success rate in selling properties within 28 days, citing a strong network of pre-approved buyers and investors who could complete within 6–8 weeks. They suggested a sale price spread of £510k–£535k, assuring me they would work to get me the best price possible. It sounded promising. Based on these assurances, I decided to proceed with HSD. I withdrew my PurpleBricks listing—costing me £300—with the understanding that HSD’s investor network would accelerate the sale. But things quickly began to unravel. Despite supposedly having investors lined up, HSD said they needed to relist my property on Rightmove first. When I questioned why investors couldn’t simply view the home, the response was vague. It took nearly two weeks for them to relist, and the new asking price was £525,000. A full week passed without any communication. Then came a call recommending the price be dropped to £499,000. I was told this was “just a marketing tactic,” and that they still aimed to get me a sale within the original £510k–£535k range. But I struggled to understand how listing a property nearly £40,000 lower would achieve that. I asked again about the investors. They finally admitted the only offer received was the same £460k I'd declined weeks earlier through WeBuyAnyHouse. This was when the red flags really began to show. Why wasn’t I told this upfront? Why present an optimistic price range if their investor offer was fixed at £460k from the beginning? Why was I encouraged to pull the property from PurpleBricks if they intended to rely on the open market anyway? I could have just reduced the price there and avoided unnecessary costs and delays. Doing more research online, I found stories from others with eerily similar experiences. It appeared HSD’s real model was to attract sellers with high expectations and then drop the price, relying on open-market tactics to force a quick sale. Despite claiming not to charge commission, they would never clearly explain how they made their money. It seems they may be negotiating higher prices with buyers while offering sellers less—profiting off the gap. No transparency, no trust. Meanwhile, they knew I was paying a high mortgage on an empty property. It became clear they were hoping I’d become desperate enough to accept the same low £460k offer I had already rejected twice. In the four weeks my property was listed with them, only four viewings were arranged. Two were no-shows. Of the remaining two, one viewer stayed for just five minutes—asked no questions and didn’t even view all the rooms. It felt performative, not serious. As expected, neither viewer submitted an offer, despite supposedly being “pre-qualified and keen.” Eventually, I told HSD I wanted to withdraw the property. That’s when I was informed—shockingly—that I had unknowingly signed up for a 52-week contract, and I’d need to pay £1,500 to exit, or £999 if paid within 7 days. I wrote to them, acknowledged that they had done some work, and offered a reasonable £699 exit fee, explaining I needed to rent the home out due to financial strain. They refused and insisted on full payment. I paid the £999 immediately—but it still took a full week and several chasers before they finally removed the property from Rightmove. By the end of the ordeal, it was clear I was no longer a priority for them. In summary: Do I regret choosing HSD? Absolutely. Would I recommend them to someone looking for a fair, transparent, and professional house sale experience? No. If your only goal is to sell quickly and you don’t care about value, they might work for you. But if you want to sell your home at a decent price with a partner you can trust, I strongly advise staying away from HSD.

3rd Mar 2026 (15 days ago)I am still in the process of moving house, however so far, Connor and David at Who Property have been brilliant. Connor valued the house and the following weekend took all the photos and video tour of the property, and within a couple of days the property advert was live. Back-to-back viewings were booked for the weekend after, with multiple offers (including two above asking price) were received on the day. Connor and David have been very responsive throughout the process, and supported me with queries relating both to my sale, and the property I am hoping to buy. Overall, I am delighted with how easy the process has been so far, and would highly recommend Who Property to anyone looking to sell in the surrounding area!
