I cannot fault their communication and responsiveness, they also went above and beyond and helped with any questions I had and advice I needed regarding our sale which wasn't even through Richard State. Andrew was lovely in our viewing, gave us great information and answered any questions we had promptly. There was no negative pressure and they helped us get everything over the line as promptly as possible! Rory was also on hand to respond to any questions we had! I would highly recommend them and the amazing team for their clear communication and we overall had a great experience with them!

When I say they are an absolute credit to their industry, I do not offer those words lightly. My journey with Geoff Burgoyne and his exceptional team began in June 2024, when our father made the decision to let his home as he moved in to live with my sister. From the very first interaction, Geoff and his letting team demonstrated a level of care, thoughtfulness, and thoroughness that immediately set them apart. Having operated as a landlord for twenty-five years and having worked with a considerable number of estate agents during that time, I can state with complete conviction that Buckinghams surpasses them all — not by a small margin, but by a considerable distance. Our father passed away in June 2024, shortly after the property had been let, and the world as I knew it changed in an instant. The tenants remained in the property, and through every maintenance matter, every decision, and every development, Buckinghams handled everything with a transparency that I had simply never encountered before at this level. Every communication was clear, timely, and unsolicited — meaning I never had to chase, never had to wonder, and never had to second-guess what was happening with the property. Geoff and his team appeared to operate from a fundamental belief that a landlord, and particularly one navigating personal grief, deserved to be kept fully informed at every turn. That transparency was not a feature of their service — it was the very fabric of how they conducted themselves, and it made an immeasurable difference during one of the most difficult periods of life. When the time came to sell the property through probate — a process that is inherently emotional and, at times, deeply turbulent — Geoff and his team proved themselves to be not merely agents, but trusted partners. They were instrumental in navigating an experience that carried enormous personal weight, and they carried it with us with grace, sensitivity, and unwavering competence. Yet perhaps what moved me most during the sale process was something that no contract obliges an estate agent to do. There were minor remedial tasks required by the seller prior to completion — small but necessary jobs that many agents would have instinctively passed on to subcontractors, adding cost, delay, and yet another unfamiliar face to an already weary process. Geoff rolled up his sleeves and attended to those tasks personally. That single act speaks volumes about the character of the man and the culture of the business he has built. It is one thing to manage a sale with professionalism; it is quite another to show up in the way that Geoff did, with the kind of quiet, selfless commitment that cannot be trained into someone — it must simply be part of who they are. Buckinghams have set a benchmark that others in their industry should study and aspire to reach. They have raised the bar to a height that speaks to what this profession, at its very finest, can genuinely be. My family and I have been through an enormous amount since June 2024, and through it all, right up until exchange, Buckinghams stood with us. For that, there is no adequate measure of gratitude — only the hope that this review, in some small way, reflects the remarkable human beings behind that name. Thank you Geoff and Team.

The quality of care, professionalism and support is outstanding, both for Landlord and Tenant. Dealing with Reece and Ian has been an absolute delight. If I could give them more than 5*, I would.

A big thank you to the assigned estate agent, Izzy Blatch, for the friendly induction and swift paperwork. Everything was as smooth as it could get, both when settling in and when vacating the property.

From our first contact with Nick Griffiths through to exchange of contracts he has been there to advise, been completely professional, easily contactable and good humoured through a slow process. He is supported by an equally excellent team. I thoroughly recommend them.
5th Apr 2026 (5 weeks ago)Came over to Batcheller Monkhouse on Saturday late morning around mid day as had an unusual day off to see someone about selling our cottage and was pretty disappointed no one there but your website says 9-1 no sign of anyone despite calling the number on website too so gave up and went elsewhere that was open. Matt.
31st Jan 2022 (4 years ago)Deal with this estate agent will be nightmare you prepare to be. just bought a house in guildford. given the offer to the seller. the estate agent pushed price and arrange unrealistic exchange and completion date. this results in the seller withdraw the listing. half year later, the seller is ready to sell. the estate agent disclosure both the sellers and buyers personal information to financial brokers and insurance thirdparties for marketing. during the communication with them, it is hugely unreliable and unfriendly. no customer service and professionalism. at the completion date, the sellers cannot give keys to estate agent and the buyers waste time to wait for the keys to be given. completely rubbish. both the sellers and buyers should be avoid..

I highly recommend using them, and if you I need to move again in the future they will be my first port of call. Thanks guys x

31st Jan 2025 (1 year ago)The BEST estate agents! We've had a long journey with our house move and Foundations were incredible at every step. They worked hard to ensure we got the best deal for our house sale, lining up back to back viewings, following up with individuals, even spotting early on (before it became a much bigger problem!) when a buyer submitted an offer but then disappeared. It was almost no suprise when the house we'd offered on fell through and Foundations saved the day again, finding our dream house and securing the purchase. They really listened and understood our position and what we were looking for. I will be recommending them to everyone!
30th Apr 2026 (9 days ago)This was not a good experience and I would recommend avoiding this agency. Firstly though, the positive: They responded to a concern that we had regarding the status of the property that would have constituted a health hazard. They commissioned works to fix the issue and they were promptly and effectively carried out. They were also always polite and friendly in their communication. However the reasons I recommend avoiding them is as follows: They took over management of our tenancy from a previous agency and neglected to perform any checks of the status of the property. When they did take over, they called us to up our rent by 1/3rd. It's quite unusual to raise rent by such a high amount like this. They made it clear that we would have to leave if we couldn't comply, but we grudgingly did as we knew our rent was lower than the market value due to Covid making rents generally lower at the time we signed the contract. When we moved out, they tried to deduct the cost of our professional clean (£170+) from our deposit despite the fact that we'd cleaned it to a high standard and knew we weren't liable. They relied on the assumption that we would be too intimidated to challenge them and that we wouldn't know the law. We fought and won all of our deposit back, and they wasted our time for months and attempted to deny us money which they knew was rightfully ours. Because they didn't have any evidence, as they'd neglected to take any stock of the inventory or the status of the property when they should have, they didn't have any way to prove their claims, which already had no basis. At this time and other times during our tenancy, they also showed a willingness to lie outright, both in person and in written communication, and didn't seem concerned or aware that they were contradicting themselves. For these reasons, I would recommend avoiding the agency, both as a prospective tenant and as an owner. They cannot be trusted in their words and engage in intimidation and manipulation as part of their standard business practice. Their approach might have worked in the past, even leaving aside the ethical issue, but it is very unsuited to the future, where renters rights are ever increasingly protected and people have access to more information and ways to communicate.

I dealt with David who was incredibly helpful in both providing his insights and offering advice as it was my first purchase. David was very quick to reply making organising viewings/surveys/etc easy to organise with completion just over two months after the first contact. I highly recommend David at Martin and Wheatley and would be glad to use their services again!

Jennifer and Clare at Surrey Abodes were not only very professional at all times but were also mindful of the stress I was under and never rushed me or put me under any pressure. They were kind and considerate. Clare would make sure I was update with everything and explained and advised in a way that was easy to understand. They will be honest with you about your property but there is no hard selling tactics. Surrey Abodes is a small independent Estate Agents and I have no hesitation in recommending them.
